Nicely done tribute. I had no idea we had lost so many to combat.I'm visiting The Wall on 524/24 as a guest of Rocky Mountain Honor Flight and so, asked Schoolmate Andy Fraser if he had a list. During my PMC years of 1964-1968, I had laid on Schoolmates Bill Allen, Bob Aldrich, Bob Chinquina, and Denny Isom and wondered if I was missing any? I knew Dennis Isom a bit as a cadet and I was shocked to hear of Bob Aldrich was MIA while I was in Vietnam. 9/71-9/72. Thank you. Byron W. Daniels C'68 COL (Ret.) US Army

I think this was HQ bass drummer Jim Love’s (‘68) favorite drumhead, seen here in one piece. 🤔 This photo is the middle section of the ‘64 band. Interesting uniform - Dress Delta, Under Arms, with white cap cover. The nearest end cadets left to right are Roy (Mike) Collins ‘64 (trumpet), Bill Stevens ‘65 (RIP - cymbal), Mike Hernandez ‘66 (bass drum) and John Snowden ‘66 (clarinet).

Hi Colonel Jack! The short story is that Widener somehow lost a brief segment of the beginning of the halftime show. As a result, I had to fill in the missing movie bit with scenes that were filmed before the halftime show. All of the guys shown on the sidelines were actually in both shows that day. Andy ‘67

Odd march to be playing for this... Alford's Standard of St. George?? Really? Doubt they would have played that back then for Pass in Review.
@BandBoxParade4 жыл бұрын
What march did they play in 1929? The PMC Band had a long love affair with "The Standard of St. George" and it's one of the great marches on the 1965 PMC Band's stereo record album. That's why it's featured here. If you'd like to hear the march that John Philip Sousa wrote and dedicated to PMC, just click here. "The Dauntless Battalion" is a classic too! kzread.info/dash/bejne/jHp9qsZxg8S6mbw.html

@@BandBoxParade Thanks so much for your reply! Standard of St. George was one of my favorites as well, as were most all of Alford's marches. I was a Navy Musician for 20 years, Euphonium major and at times a Drum Major for bands I was stationed in. Alford's tempos were a bit slower, lending to more of a "stroll" than a full march, and were much easier to play on the march. I believe Standard was around 108-112? Anyway, Standard of St. George was written in 1930 so unlikely it was played here. Thanks for the link!! Will check it out.
