There are a lot of comments on the “disturbing” or “unnerving” aspect of seeing them smiling and happy, naive to the fact that their lives are to end in a matter of minutes. What makes it unnerving is the fact that you will one day be minutes away from your death, perhaps much younger than you’d hoped, and some unforeseen action will end your life in an instant. It’s the surreal reminder that EVERY moment of your life, you may living your final moments. So my advice is to live happy, and smile, and be adventurous, as they were. Let your final moment find you smiling and full of enthusiasm for this life. There is no better way for it to find you.

I can't tell 100% but were any cars damaged? Did that pilot (Jim) purposefully hit the center line of the lane like that? Surely he couldn't have calculated that the crash wouldn't have even damaged the vehicles?!?! Absolutely shocking skill, RIP to the victims!!

Weird how the bravest, and most useful person in that video was the woman in the colorful pants. She just rushed in, SEVERAL TIMES, while Useless and Less Useful stood by with their extinguishers. Most Useless was the guy with the priority silver mini van. Must've been Boss Useless.

Warum fährt die Feuerwehr in den USA keinen 3 Fachen Löschangriff ?! Bei Bränden von Oel, Benzin oder Diesel wird bei uns das ULF, Universal Lösch Fahrzeug eingesetzt, dieses führt als Löschmittel Wasser, Pulver und Schaumextrakt mit . Damit ist es sehr effektiv zum löschen von Flüssigkeitsbränden. Zuerst Schaumteppich um den Brand legen, Mit Pulverschlag die Flammen ablöschen und anschliessend mit Schaum oder Wasser kühlen und verhindern einer erneuten Zündung !

How unfortunate. 9500 DA gear down looks like 10° flaps full fuel up slope runway two knot tailwind on take off. And break your wing off on the only rooftop within miles. Everything was against this pilot. So sad.

Having the fuel turned on is kind of important isn’t it? I know if my car had a fuel off switche, it probably wouldn’t run. And planes don’t do well, I’d imagine, if they’re not running while in the air. I could Be wrong though. I’m not a pilot.

How did that fire get so bad before A they released the passengers and B the fire crew to arrive. Seemed to end well but all surely could have acted quicker. And those passengers who dragged their luggage out should be banned from flying. Selfish assholes

And so another irreplaceable historic aircraft is gone. This is exactly why it's fine to fly Mustangs and Stearmans and others that have multiple surviving examples, and not ultra-rare aircraft like this. Another one may be constructed, who knows? But it won't be the original, it will never have been touched by the hands that built and flew this one, so it won't have the historical importance that this one had.

The weirdest part of this whole thing to me is the reaction of the 2 people in the foreground. They hear the crash, turn to look at it, then go back to what they were doing as if nothing at all had happened. Didn't even pull out their phones to call in a report, much less run over to see if they could help the pilot. Wow.
