Dont you hang your pheasants.. in the uk they are hung for 24 to 72 hours 1-3 day i prefer 24 hour hang as the mest is to gamey for me any longer also a lot of younger people find it easier to eat with less time hung but my mother, gandparents ect older generation like the gamey flavour and want a bird hung for the full 3 days

Nice! One of the first people who does it right , no waste! It bugs the crap out of me people breast birds and throw the rest away! I use a heavy scissors instead of a knife , works as good.

@@toga1022 They flew...just way too close and I probably used a bit heavy on the shells. We were walking to go duck hunting if that gives you an idea of shells I had on me. I didn't expect to run into pheasants on the way.

Thanks brother man! Getting 30+ acres and planning on raising pheasant and bees. I have two third year hives and wanted to make sure I knew how to clean the birds before I started planning enclosure layout. I look forward to the day I have extra for meat and feathers. So excited! Thanks again! Excellent explanation. Do you ever accidentally pop the guts? Do you raise your own? How do you break their neck or do you always hunt them? 😶... a friend of mind thought their chicken was dead but it started walking around and continued to live for three more years with a broken neck. Straight diabolical! 😧 Just saying, it’s in the back of my head. Should I just give it head a good wack? Is cleaning fish easier? I can clean the heck out of a mess of bluegill/bass/crappie! 😋

Great video and great tips, thanks, I usually leave the skin on the breast to keep the meat moist when cooking. I like your method of keeping the feathers so that I can dry the hide/feathers and put them on my decoys. The ducks and geese can see the real feathers and come in for sure
