My points 1. Rental income is not consistent . God forbids if war breaks out or covid like case arises, then it stops. 2. Population growth rate is decreasing in india. Young couples opt for 1 or max 2 kids (N.B. please exclude muslims). Hence Rental income in future may go down. 3. Your monthly need is 2.5 lakh. Annually it is 30 lakhs. Hence if you are a conservative investor, you should have at least 5 CR in term deposits . If you can take risk, you should have at least 3 to 3.5 CR in equity and you can do SWP . I have not considered inflation here because if inflation increases, market return also increases. 4. You must have a health insurance in place. Better you reduce your expenses from 2.5 lakhs to 1.5 laks. Sell your property and invest that in a equity and do SWP.

Real Estate and Gold are not Asset Classes which provide liquidity for retirement. But by the same token in Indian Parlance at least for those who are in the age group of 58-60, the cultural upbringing will not easily allow them to sell them and move the money into liquid assets. They will continue to earn some money and will try to leave the real estate and gold to the next generation
