Look I don’t judge people who stay together after one incident of infidelity BUT leaving someone while pregnant, bringing home outside children or STDs or when someone is constantly cheating, is where I draw the line! If someone isn’t happy first thing should be communication and not stepping outside of the relationship.

It's surprising to hear that someone with a PhD wasn't aware of the various characteristics people can have. It really highlights that education doesn't always equate to life experience. It's a reminder for all of us to stay vigilant and aware of the different motivations people may have. Just say you chose to overlook it.

This woman heard what she wanted to hear and listened to that. Whose to say he's not going to do this again? And SHE apologized to HIM? Oh hell no! I'm sorry but if my husband leaves me for another woman she can have him! He saw that he can walk all over her and even cheat and she'll take him back. There's so much I'd like to say but my fingers can't type that much right now 😂 But I truly hope their marriage is happy and faithful and will continue to be because she's not going anywhere.. This one was just too much. My teacher Sister Josephine used to say that is just putting too much on God. He gave us free will to be able to make choices. This girl heard all the wrong things that her desperation was saying to her, not God.

This was thoughts as well, Sidechick wouldn’t be his door mat…he wanted them both…while the wife was ok with playing the Sidechick to her husband, clearly the Sidechick wasn’t having it!
This is gonna be an unpopular opinion, but I believe that this is literally due to the doctrination of black women in the black church. We are constantly taught to fall on our sword like Jesus and we are never taught to empower or free ourselves, like God in the Old Testament. Now i have learned that many a women are lacking in appreciation but that does not make a man's choices our responsibility We are constantly told that if a man strays, it is our fault, our responsibility, our problem to clean up Our lack of femininity, our void as a woman, mother and wife, I have yet to go to a church where I see men held just as accountable, if not more when they are supposed to be the head. I. Also, feel like because of a woman's desperation to be loved needed and supported by a man oftentimes. It is so much easier to believe that God told you to do certain things when god want you to be happy, loved and protected. And oftentimes, when we do go through these phases with men and self sacrifice ourselves over and over again, the outcome of it is to learn not to do that. That is the true lesson
I'm white and grew up southern Baptist. It's the same way in white churches. Women are supposed to just take whatever their husband's throw at them with a smile and move on. I'm agnostic now and a large reason for that is because of the things I saw, heard, and experienced growing up in those churches.

She probably didn’t tell her parents everything because she wanted that man so bad…she alluded to the fact that ever her Mom was hardly talking to her. In spite of everything that many put her through, she wanted to protect him.
I am almost certain that her husband is still cheating on her. Imaging during the most vulnerable time of your life, being pregnant he’s jerking you back and forth. Promising to be with you, then running to the other woman. No way I would accept that. Yuck.

I agree 100% with these reactions. She has low self esteem and would’ve taken anything he dished her. I hope the same God opens her eyes to build her confidence and know her worth because he is going to do it again.

This highlights the problem with cultural Christianity. The Bible states you can divorce if the person is committing adultery. This lady doesn't seem to be accepting any responsibility for her behaviour. She didn't want to hear the friend who stated he was a gold digger but wanted to hear her other friend who said Cesar is a sex addict because she can have him fixed.
Honestly in her case I don’t think it was so much about the religion per se but more of her not wanting to be alone and wanting to go back to the love bombing phase of the relationship.
How was this woman a clinical psychologist?

As a neuropsychologist I’m a little bit annoyed of the way she talked about other clinicians / her university courses… but yeah maybe she got unlucky. It looks like she stopped educating herself the moment she graduated but I could be wrong. I believe some events could have been avoided and were blamed on external factors but it s understandable given the whole context. Can’t say more here What happened was awful and I really hope her family is doing better now. Thank you for sharing the story and spreading awareness. It takes a lot of courage Greetings from 🇫🇷
Not a therapist but I’m depressed at times. My worst relationships resulted from untreated or under treated depression. She needed to work on herself to see clearly. She shouldn’t have been dating. Grown, medicated, therapized me thinks that this is ridiculous. He would have dropped me because I’m tapped out after 1g but I think the moral of the story is to not accept bullshit like the cheating. The cheating was a symptom of his sociopathic ways, the lying was a signal that he won’t change and they state to state, country to country BS was a technique used for isolation, I’m here to learn but I think she hadn’t healed from the death of her husband and that needed to be fully addressed first. I’m glad she lived to tell about it so we can learn.

All I’m going to say is this woman is EXTREMELY lucky that she got out alive & not completely destitute. Also, she’s a psychologist, but never knew what narcissistic abuse or cognitive dissonance was before all this. Like hoooowwwww🧐🧐🧐

I was thinking the same thing about the narcissistic abuse thing. She should be aware of it but if you’re in it, you may not see it. I’ll give her grace for that not knowing she was in it.
