  i bought 2 weeks ago this same model for my son's room... at first i noticed it cooled regurlarly the room... then i insulated with polystirene sheets the big glass window around the ac unit cause a lot of sun heat soaked into the room through the glass... after i insulat3d from the sun rays that window, the cooling efficency improved doubl3d... saludos desde mexico

  What is the installation like? How often do you have to clean it? How do you select the water supply (i.e. top bottle or water line)? And how much gallons does it take to fill up the bin completely? How much energy does it use? Is the bin refrigerated, or does the ice start melting as soon as it's made? BTW, the hOmeLabs is out of stock, any other brands you'd recommend? Any thoughts on a Euhomy or the COOLLIFE? It says it has a 30 pound canister that it can fill in 8 hours (100lbs/day).

  Does it use a water pump to pump out the excess water through the grey tube or does it use only gravity to release the excess water from the basin when the eventually ice melts.

  If you don't have a floor drain or the unit isn't higher than the drain, you'll need to buy and install a pump.

  Yeah, exactly. This is way longer than 18 feet. You can tell by the u bars, there's too many of them on the sides to be 18 feet.
