Super video clip!
Great selection of locos
Nice capture
Cool thanks mate
66 years on these are legendary Pioneers of the Diesel Age , Beautiful sound 💞💞💞
Andania was the loco my Grandfather drove on his last day before retiring from LMS in the mid 60’s we recently found a picture of him taken on his last day and with the help of LSL we were able to re-create it for the family album.
How can they expect a shunter to step in if the "37"ner breaks down ? 🤔
Bird: ahhhhhhhhhhhh! No way I got hurt!
Good cop ot 66309 - not been out more than a week - one of the latest import renumbered series.
Yeah it's just been at the Bo'ness Diesel Gala, Nathan got haulage from it! 😊
3 Great days from May 24 to 26 2024 Regardless of the weather on Friday and Sunday today ,The Weather as amazing on Saturday ,Well done all the volunteers to those companies involved ,The sad thing is what happened to the Bo'ness model railway inside the two Norwegian carriages ,I can't wait to see it reopening after the generosity of people helping out ,Great 3 days regardless of the weather being awful on Friday and Sunday . Best of luck with the fund for helping to repair the damage .❤
😊
TRASH, CLAG, DID I MISS SOMETHING ???????
You didn’t stay very long in Whitby. Or was this more than one day?
Yeah, you're right, just a flying visit to Whitby - all the same day! 🙂
@@gb.railfan I’d have made time for some fish & chips!
What is it about the old Bullied Pacifics of the Southern Railway? They seem to be everywhere at the moment. First, Clan Line, then Tangmere, now this locomotive. Have they worn better than the others?
Perhaps? 🤷♂️
When I visited, this line wasn't running, so it was nice to check out the route behind that wonderful Class33
Look out for the car in the ditch around about 16:08
How did I get here? And why is this soundtrack strangely relaxing?
Excellent video, likes from me . . .
Trust Panther Bolt was OK.
Assuming so, though never saw him...
@@gb.railfan Probably driving the train.
🤣🤣🤣
Nice footage but hardly "storming".
Beautifully evocative of a bygone age. Lovely footage. Andrew.
Many thanks 👍🏻
@@gb.railfan I have given you a follow as well.
Thanks for posting this as the ELR cameras seem to be on the blink..
Spotted "the family" at 15,41!
Your distant photography is excellent, David!
Why thank you... 🙂
I went there and bought tickets for five, expecting a steam train only to find this 70s clapped out piece of diesel junk. Total rip off.
Did you check what timetable was running that day cause if you want to ride on a steam train it needs to be on a day with a certain timetable. If you were promised a steam train when you booked and got a pacer then you have a right to complain
I would like to record a class 66
Is it just me or does Leander blend in with the black 5s
yeah see what you mean they are similar...
Good job
Thanks 👍🏻
Nice catch mate
Cheers mate! 🙂
👍👍
No "U" in Golborne, David!
Oh no...! 😟
Why was the drs dragging the 68
Tbf can't actually remember, however it was probably being rescued after failing.
Why is it called a light engine by itself? Also do you know why some locomotives like the class 91 can do 125mph (or 110 pulling backwards) but only 75mph as a light engine?
It just means a locomotive without a train load behind it, hence light!
@@gb.railfan oh that would make sense. How come they can’t go as fast as with a load though? Surely it should be the opposite?
I don't know exactly why this restriction is in place but if I had to give a good guess it would be due to traction and weight, if you have more weight there is a lesser chance for derailment, therefore light locos are restricted.
@@that1giox oh so it’s safety makes sense. Wouldn’t be ideal if a train went flying off a curve at 110mph. I don’t understand why the blunt end first it restricted to 110 not 125 though?
very cool video
Many thanks 👍🏻
@@gb.railfan next time when come back to u.k wana spot class 70 loco,s are those stil around in service ?
Oh yes still plenty of those around in service... 👍🏻
I love the growl of the 37s
Yeah they are awesome... 🙂
Good weekend to go back to Uni, Nathan!
I thought you weee looking at the 150 lol
same lol
Ha ha, yeah... Good things come to those who wait, lol 🤣😅
Great footage, I'd consider a different camera tho for this, terrible rolling shutter
Many thanks, and I welcome your feedback. This video is a bit of a compilation and will be made up from footage on various devices, dating back a few years now. I strongly consider myself an amatuer videographer, so naturally I'm constrained by budget limitations, but take your point on board (always learning). I just love to share the conent I capture with fellow enthusiasts in the best way that I can to the best of my ability. 🙂
Awesome
Well worth the detour, David!
Oh yes it was awesome 👍🏻
Great video, nicely edited !
I Like This!
Why thank you...!
37421……part of my childhood. Used to run on the Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh, (my home), line all the time.
In my childhood the numbers stopped at (i think) 309 and the high numbered locos were all based in Scotland and usually didn't venture south of the border. Some of the 47s were the same so you had to go to them. I spent a week in Scotland with a Scottish Rail Rover ticket in 1981. That was a ticket that gave you free travel in Scotland. I spent one day going to the Kyle of Lochalsh. That was the first time i ate haggis. Haggis and chips at a chippy near the railway station. I've got photos of pink seagulls at, if memory serves, Inverness. I don't think it rained all week. I remember pitching my tent on wasteground behnd a line of parked lorries at a lorry park one night in the dark. A lorry driver got out and nearly beat the crap out of me thinking i was trying to break into his lorry. I protested i was just trying to find a spot for my tent. He had a very thivk Scottish accent and at 15 years old, i didn't understand half of what he was saying, but i understood F OFF or pitch it there or i'll brain ya! I pitched it right where i was. There was something under the ground sheet. I thought it was dog muck. when i got up in the morning it was a dead sparrow. That explained the smell too. My last night before catching my train back home to Birmingham early the next morning i had about a pound left. Enough for one last meal. It was a toss up between a chippy or MacDonalds. I chose MacDonalds. I bought my first and last macburger. It was so bad i've never had anything else from there to this day. Loved my week in Scotland on the trains though!
These train sets appear to have a lot of issues not just with equipment but staffing levels ? They are only leased so when the lease term expires its up to the operator to assess the viability of the trains and unfortunately TPE decided to get shot!
Very sad to see these go. I hate the 185s. The 68s with the mk5 coaches is a proper inter city train but to me the 185s look and feel like ponced up local trains like the 156s band the like. If Northern had the 185s then I might like them but not for long distances. Just my opinion for what it’s worth. Nice vid mate. Enjoyed watching.
Why is TransPennine Express not going to use the Class 68 Mk5 Nova 3 anymore. I think it’s so sad to see them not going to be used anymore. I hope that they do get transferred to another train operator or to be stored.
Best part about a frosty day next to electric trains😁
There is something of a lion's low grumbling roar here.
Carlisle, City if the lakes.... it's nowhere near a lake 😅
Keep going
