  Great video effectively. One point I missed, maybe because running debian. The need to add the zabbix user to the docker group via sudo usermod -aG docker zabbix. I wonder if you could also make a video related to the install of the zabbix agent within docker to monitor the docker environment (would be handy for my synology environment)

  I use the express version of dbForge Studio for PostgreSQL, and I like it more than pgAdmin. Its interface is user-friendly, the code completion is excellent, and the overall user experience feels smoother and faster.

  its still not work i get error in log file 37041:20240702:022742.305 for a discovery process with 5 workers, the user limit of 1024 file descriptors is insufficient. The maximum number of concurrent checks per worker has been reduced to 122 and when i check with cat /proc/$(cat /var/run/zabbix/zabbix_server.pid)/limits | grep open.files i get Max open files 1024 262144 files when i do sysctl -p fs.file-max = 10000 ps i rebooted server still no changes + instruction works fine

  Hi Dmitry, thanks for this tutorial. It helped me a lot to visualize my Zabbix items in Home Assistant. However, there is one crucial hint missing which cost me some time: In the default configuration of the Zabbix server, the StartConnectors are set to 0 and thus no data is sent. In the Zabbix documentation, this is only mentioned in a subordinate clause. After I set the StartConnectors to 1 (1 StartConnector per connector in the Zabbix UI), the items were sent directly to Home Assistant.

  I must disagree with you, the process is different from version to version and it is complicated. I have been using Zabbix since version 4. and everytime i get into upgrade it gets into firefighting mode. this time from 6.0 to 7.0. Repos are not complete for ubuntu 20.04 I had to upgrade to 22.04 to be able to install, then i ran into a database error [Z3005] query failed: [1118] Row size too large. The maximum row size for the used table type, not counting BLOBs, is 8126. This includes storage overhead, check the manual. You have to change some columns to TEXT or BLOBs [alter table `media_type` add `provider` integer default '0' not null]. without a known solution. So sorry to say no it is not the same. for now, I will leave 6.0 as is to avoid the firefighting again.

  I spun up a vm with ubuntu 22 on it to test out zabbix 7 with a fresh install. The agent crashed every five minutes, until I downgraded the agent on the server to 6, then it (the agent) became stable. Mostly 7 runs fairly well, however the vm has super high cpu load, and very little cpu usage. Out of the box 4 gigs ram, 4 cores, and 50 gigs of HD space, the exact same environment as my zabbix 6 server, but I already have had to delve into the weeds to fix performance issues. I am now burning the vm running 7 to the ground and sticking with my functional and much less headache free server 6 setup. In a year or so I'll give 7 another chance, but I don't get a big enough budget to waste my time with this level of bug fixing.

  You can enable 'HTTP authentication' and configure your webserver to manage the authentication in any way you want, but then you loose the 'JIT' part.

  As we know, the TimescaleDB feature is designed for databases and high-volume, professional environments. In these environments, not using a proxy is impractical and incurs high costs for the main server. However, even in the latest versions, Zabbix proxy does not support this feature, and it is very difficult to choose between TimescaleDB and the proxy!!! I hope a solution for this issue will be found soon.

  I was attending Zabbix meeting in San Francisco about 2 weeks ago and asked this question. Official answer was it's not recommended for enterprise and big Zabbix deployments, mostly because of the disk size when you use VHD or OVA templates. Also because limited flexibility, it's all in one box... But with ISO we don't have the drive size issue and I got confirmation it's absolutely ok to use in small deployments and there are no security or features disadvantages in an appliance version of Zabbix. So it's not the best practice but at the same time it's ok for small deployments.

  For those who want to automize installation process via GPO, you'll need a tool called Orca (part of Winsdk kit), and then you can create .mst file for .msi, which may have some parameters for silent install of .msi via GPO (for example Server name/address, TLS identity and key, etc). Full list of parameters can be found in zabbix documentation ("Windows agent installation from MSI").
