Yes! Definitely! This was probably the best piece of theatre that I’ve seen in a long time! It’s extended till August I think so I would STRONGLY Suggest seeing it. Book you tickets now though as it’s been selling out like crazy!

Still can't believe this revival closed this past Sunday, and what an amazing production this was (I wanted to see it so bad and hoped it'd run for at least 1-2 more years). Thanks for capturing this!

It was not going to run for two more years, unfortunately. I think they were planning on closing when Groban and Ashford's contracts were up back in January, but the demand was so high that they extended it but with different actors. They would have needed bigger stars to play the leads had they wanted to play longer.

@@dylansmith1833 Good points. I would argue personally that they could've gotten a guy like Bryn Terfel to play Sweeney (as he's played this role multiple times before)... but finding somebody as feisty as Annaleigh Ashford would be a bit harder.

There will be more, don't worry! I absolutely will be going back! This was a rush seat, which wasn't that bad. However, I prefer to be more centered so that I can see everything. I missed a few things in the background, but it's ok. I cannot wait to go back!

This is a great video! I’m hoping to take my autistic niece to see this as she loves musicals. She struggles with loud noises and I was wondering if there’s anything in it that she might struggle with, like gunshots?

Any musical has loud effects. I can't quite remember which necessarily for this show. My suggestion would be to either bring ear protection cause the orchestra alone is loud. Also, check and see if they have any relaxed performances coming up. Those seem to be very popular in the West End.

This is prime Stro. When she's good, she's great and this was her first Broadway hit. I just wish they would have brought back the multi-tier lifts for that ending hit. I believe the original broadway show had showgirls on all three.

Given that Back to the Future is in previews on Broadway, would you jump at the opportunity to attend a performance of this when the run really opens in earnest? Roger Bart is reprising his role as Doc Brown from this original production which opened last year. I never thought in a billion years that a musical adaptation of an incredible blockbuster hit of this magnitude would be so heavily anticipated, let alone conceived!

And I thought I was the one who discovered Charlie Stemp! It seems as if we've all had similar experiences. I, too, saw him in 'Half a Sixpence' , having got a ticket from Leicester Square. I loved the Tommy Steele film and wanted to see how 'If the Rain's Gotta Fall' was staged. I got far more than I expected! I also saw him in ''Mary Poppins ' twice, and now 'Crazy for You'. I would have been more often, but I'm an Old Age Pensioner and my budget is limited. He's just got it, whatever 'it' is. Rarely have I been so bowled over by a stage performer. See you all on Saturday, January 20th, for the final performance.

I can only hope this transfers to Broadway (for real this time) or comes here, north of the border. I may be biased, but Susan Stroman is one of the most incredible director-choreographers in our midst right now, and this production's choreography, set design by Beowulf Boritt, the new orchestrations and arrangements by Doug Besterman and Mark Cumberland, etc. say it all. So happy you got the chance to attend the first preview - definitely go again! (or at least if this revival sees a continued life past the Gillian Lynne)

It was incredible! I believe the current rumor buzzing around is that once it concludes its West End run in January that it will Transfer to Broadway in the Spring of next year. Just in time for awards season! The key to bringing this to New York is Charlie Stemp! That man is a class act of his own and boy can that man dance! He’s only in his 30s and is already a legend here in London. Not to mention he has one Broadway credit under his belt. Also, his co-star Carly Anderson would be a bonus to come over with this show!

I too have been following his career, and ever since he started out his career on that West End revival of Half a Sixpence in 2017, I've seen him bring total unadulerated agility and energy to the roles he's played. I think the remainder of this cast, Anderson included will only bolster that same agility and energy. Furthermore, I 10,000% believe that will remain intact once and if the producers and Stro make this long-awaited revival a reality! Let's hope once that happens, it wins Best Revival and a ton of other Tonys. Great vid once again.

@@dukeofrodtown1705 Charlie Stemp has been nominated for the Olivier Awards twice already. Really hope he would win next April. But the show will end at Gillian Lynne in Jan and is unlikely to extend there 'cause another show will be put on in Feb. Not sure how this will impact the Olivier nomination. If only the show can continue its west end performance at a new place from Feb.

Better still, transferring to a theatre in London that meets the show's requirements would be more than perfect in my honest opinion; moreover, the rules for Olivier eligibility are kind of similar to the Tony Awards to my knowledge. I'd wager that if popular demand from opening night is extraordinarily high and uncontainable, the producers will be scrambling. Let's hope we see this on Broadway as promised long before COVID!

@@dukeofrodtown1705 I've also been following Charlie since Sixpence, which I saw 9 times at Chichester and London. I've seen everything he's done so far, even going to New York for Hello Dolly. I feel that I've discovered him, although so many people have done the same as me, I'm sure. Such a talent. Sixpence has been in my top 5 musicals of all time even though it wasn't done on a grand scale with 40 dancers etc. It was just a perfect musical, but now Crazy For You joins it on my list. With those timeless songs and spectacular choreography plus the humour, why would anyone not see it? Good luck with all those involved for a Broadway move, although it might mean I'm off to New York for a second visit!

But it has a rich score, some gorgeous scenes and moments, and some very fine performances. I think the original production (which I was lucky enough to see many times) was actually easier to follow than this revival. Hope you are enjoying other shows more (I noticed your replies to someone else's video of the Aspects curtain call).

I'll be honest, I'd be cheering for Cedric Neal the same way as you, hahahaha! He's a great singer, and a tour de force onstage with every role he plays. I've seen reviews stating that he literally ate the role of Nicely Nicely Johnson, and left zero crumbs. Again, I'm so thrilled you got to take in the best show in London, quite frankly!

It's a dream of mine to head south of the border to see this - I've heard nothing but incredible things about Christian Borle and this incredible company, not to mention these incredible orchestrations. It was my first time seeing this show live! I must admit that it’s very long but it turned out to be such a beautiful piece of theatre! Phillipa as Guinevere was by far the best performance of the show! We met her after the show, she’s so sweet to everyone who waited for her!

Given that Back to the Future is in previews on Broadway, would you jump at the opportunity to attend a performance of this when the run really opens in earnest? Roger Bart is reprising his role as Doc Brown from this original production which opened last year. I never thought in a billion years that a musical adaptation of an incredible blockbuster hit of this magnitude would be so heavily anticipated, let alone conceived!
Oh I have every intention to see the Broadway production once I’m back home in the states. Don’t know when I’ll see it, but it will be before the end of the year!

And I thought I was the one who discovered Charlie Stemp! It seems as if we've all had similar experiences. I, too, saw him in 'Half a Sixpence' , having got a ticket from Leicester Square. I loved the Tommy Steele film and wanted to see how 'If the Rain's Gotta Fall' was staged. I got far more than I expected! I also saw him in ''Mary Poppins ' twice, and now 'Crazy for You'. I would have been more often, but I'm an Old Age Pensioner and my budget is limited. He's just got it, whatever 'it' is. Rarely have I been so bowled over by a stage performer. See you all on Saturday, January 20th, for the final performance.

Well now, that's technically illegal. I don't know if a cast recording is planned, but this show was not that great, story-wise.
I can only hope this transfers to Broadway (for real this time) or comes here, north of the border. I may be biased, but Susan Stroman is one of the most incredible director-choreographers in our midst right now, and this production's choreography, set design by Beowulf Boritt, the new orchestrations and arrangements by Doug Besterman and Mark Cumberland, etc. say it all. So happy you got the chance to attend the first preview - definitely go again! (or at least if this revival sees a continued life past the Gillian Lynne)
It was incredible! I believe the current rumor buzzing around is that once it concludes its West End run in January that it will Transfer to Broadway in the Spring of next year. Just in time for awards season! The key to bringing this to New York is Charlie Stemp! That man is a class act of his own and boy can that man dance! He’s only in his 30s and is already a legend here in London. Not to mention he has one Broadway credit under his belt. Also, his co-star Carly Anderson would be a bonus to come over with this show!
@@dylansmith1833 Couldn't agree more mate! I too have been following his career, and ever since he started out his career on that West End revival of Half a Sixpence in 2017, I've seen him bring total unadulerated agility and energy to the roles he's played. I think the remainder of this cast, Anderson included will only bolster that same agility and energy. Furthermore, I 10,000% believe that will remain intact once and if the producers and Stro make this long-awaited revival a reality! Let's hope once that happens, it wins Best Revival and a ton of other Tonys. Great vid once again.
@@dukeofrodtown1705 Charlie Stemp has been nominated for the Olivier Awards twice already. Really hope he would win next April. But the show will end at Gillian Lynne in Jan and is unlikely to extend there 'cause another show will be put on in Feb. Not sure how this will impact the Olivier nomination. If only the show can continue its west end performance at a new place from Feb.
@@jasoncen5056 I only hope this production transfers again, or goes on tour. Better still, transferring to a theatre in London that meets the show's requirements would be more than perfect in my honest opinion; moreover, the rules for Olivier eligibility are kind of similar to the Tony Awards to my knowledge. I'd wager that if popular demand from opening night is extraordinarily high and uncontainable, the producers will be scrambling. Let's hope we see this on Broadway as promised long before COVID!
@@dukeofrodtown1705 I've also been following Charlie since Sixpence, which I saw 9 times at Chichester and London. I've seen everything he's done so far, even going to New York for Hello Dolly. I feel that I've discovered him, although so many people have done the same as me, I'm sure. Such a talent. Sixpence has been in my top 5 musicals of all time even though it wasn't done on a grand scale with 40 dancers etc. It was just a perfect musical, but now Crazy For You joins it on my list. With those timeless songs and spectacular choreography plus the humour, why would anyone not see it? Good luck with all those involved for a Broadway move, although it might mean I'm off to New York for a second visit!

@@dylansmith1833 That's a shame. There are undeniably plenty of issues with the plot, the dialogue and the staging, I feel. But it has a rich score, some gorgeous scenes and moments, and some very fine performances. I think the original production (which I was lucky enough to see many times) was actually easier to follow than this revival. Hope you are enjoying other shows more (I noticed your replies to someone else's video of the Aspects curtain call).
Go because of the music, not the plot. (Lust and love are often messy).
I'll be honest, I'd be cheering for Cedric Neal the same way as you, hahahaha! He's a great singer, and a tour de force onstage with every role he plays. I've seen reviews stating that he literally ate the role of Nicely Nicely Johnson, and left zero crumbs. Again, I'm so thrilled you got to take in the best show in London, quite frankly!

I saw this production at Ahmanson Theater, Los Angeles in April 2023. WTF is this? Stop ruining originals. This is a "period piece", so leave it alone.
May this production enjoy a long /open-ended run. It's a dream of mine to head south of the border to see this - I've heard nothing but incredible things about Christian Borle and this incredible company, not to mention these incredible orchestrations. I'm so glad you got to see this show, and I hope to God this wins all the Tonys it deserves!

It was my first time seeing this show live! I must admit that it’s very long but it turned out to be such a beautiful piece of theatre! Phillipa as Guinevere was by far the best performance of the show! We met her after the show, she’s so sweet to everyone who waited for her!
