What if application got submitted, but crest form is incomplete. Can we re- submit crest form again ??
If you submitted a CREST and it was incomplete or had errors, you will usually be given one chance to resubmit a corrected/ complete CREST.
In the SJT paper what proportion will be Ranking and what proportion will be Multiple Choice Based?
About half of each
What a straight forward explanation. May god brightens your path.
Can someone with more than 2 years gap in clinical practice be eligible to write the MSRA exam?
Potentially, depending on If you are still able to get CREST signed from a job within 3.5 years of the start date of training and if you meet the eligibility criteria for the specialty you are applying for you can. Please read through the person specification for details
@@EmedicaEducation many thanks
Salam sir Just to clarify, is 1 year of housejob counted in 2 years clinical experience or do i need 2 years besides housejob to be eligible? From Pakistan!
Wa alaikumas salaam. Yes, housejob / internship counts, so you need 1 more year after this by the start date of training to be eligible
@@EmedicaEducation OK sir. Thanks 😊
Hi. Can I sit MSRA with a year gap due to relocation?
If you meet the eligibility criteria for the specialty you are applying for you can. Please read through the person specification for details
@@EmedicaEducation Thank you
If I had done the job in 2022 but signed by the consultant now, should I put the date of completion as current date or the date I did the job?
Date of completion is the date it is signed.
@@EmedicaEducation hello sir ..if the consultant has changed his place of work what should we do ? Get the hospital stamp of our original place of work or of his current hospital?
Either should be fine
Thanks for the video.🙏As you said, multiple upgrades can happen, so when we get our first upgrade and we are satisfied with that, can we end the upgrade process and accept it finally? Or we should stay on the cycle, may experience other upgrades
You can opt out of upgrades between each upgrade cycle, or stay opted in until the upgrade deadline if you have accepted and opted for upgrades. If you have ranked correctly and your offer is not your top choice, it makes sense to accept and opt in for upgrades and then just wait for the end of the process. You can read more here facebook.com/share/p/HrAhd6YPCGwBrHjq/
Thanks. Is it possible to change our GP preferences ranking after submitting the application? Before taking the MSRA or after the exam before the results come out
Yes, you can change preferences again before the results come out, and then in between each offer / upgrade cycle.
Sir housejob experience isn't considered to sign of crest form? Do i have to work 3 months paid under a consultant, after my housejob? And lets say i dont get it signed in my home country then i can work under consultant in uk to get it signed off? Thirdly after getting my crest form signed from home country, am i exempted from FY2 post? Means I can directly apply for non training job?
You can get your CREST form signed from your house job if you demonstrated the criteria. CREST is a requirement for applications for training at ST1 / CT1 level. It is not relevant/ required to apply for a non training post. CREST is only one requirement to apply for training. You still need to meet the other eligibility criteria, which may differ for each specialty. You need a minimum of 2 years clinical experience including internship to start training at ST1 / CT1 level. CREST does not exempt you from the experience required.
@@EmedicaEducation how about GP ship? Can I apply directly after getting crest form signed? (Let's say am not getting non training job and gave msra exam)
You can apply if you will have 2 years clinical experience by the start date of training/ meet all the eligibility criteria. Please read this article for details www.emedica.co.uk/applygp.html
Thank you for making such an informative video. I am an IMG and i have been working in the NHS for the last two years. Do i need to prove English proficiency ?
You can select the option of 2+ years NHS experience as evidence of English language competence
@@EmedicaEducation Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it
I passed MRCS and have GMC registration but no job at UK yet. I am outside. How can I sit MRSA to go training of GP please advise
You would need to apply for training and will be invited to book the MSRA if longlisted. This article covers the process and eligibility: www.emedica.co.uk/applygp
For an 8 hour exam like the bar exam, what should I eat for lunch?
Something high in protein and with a low or medium GI would be ideal. This would keep you fuelled and full for a longer period of time.
Can i answer msra from home country
It is available in many countries outside the UK. You will be able to see if there are centres in your country when booking the exam via Pearson Vue.
Hello sir , post mbbs , I have 6 years of experience in general medicine, do I have to apply for ST1 ?
That depends on which specialty you are applying for. Everyone starts GP training at ST1 level. For some specialties you can directly enter higher training at ST3 or ST4 level if you have the right experience and competences signed off, but you wouldn't need a CREST for those as that is only for ST1 / CT1 training posts. Please go through the person specification and official recruitment site for the specialty you are interested in for details
Thank you !! Just a quick question…I will finish 2 years postgraduate internship in Japan by March 2027. Am i eligible to apply for MSRA exam in November 2026 window? I will have finished my 2year internship by the time the post starts which is probably in August 2027, but will i be eligible to apply as i wont have finished internship by the time of application? Thank you so much! 😊
The eligibility to start training includes having at least 12 months clinical experience after full registration with your medical council - in most cases this means 1 year after completing internship. If you got full registration after 1 year of internship then you may be eligible if you get a CREST form signed. Please contact the recruitment team directly to check about your specific circumstances.
Thank you very much!
I scored 94%. Its doable
Thank you for these videos
Do i need a valid GMC registration for MSRA?? OR i can give i am in irreland??
You need full GMC registration and a license to practice by the start date of training, not at the time of application or MSRA.
Mean I need to clear PLAB OR MRCP ETC TO GET GMC REG BEFORE START OF TRAINING???
Yes
Thank you for the informative video. Is it ok if my hospital stamp not in English?
You would usually need an official translation for anything not in English so they can verify the details match
Hello Dr Rahman, I have a doubt, Can an overseas graduate with one year of experience is eligible for CT/ST or gp training if they get thier CREST form signed ? Can a doctor with 1 year of experience get a CREST form signed ??
You can get a CREST signed if you meet all the competences, but would not be eligible for training as you need 2 years clinical experience by the start date of training to apply for ST1 / CT1 jobs. CREST is only 1 criterion - you need to meet all of them to be eligible. Details for GP training at www.emedica.co.uk/applygp
@@EmedicaEducation Thank you so much for clarifying

Great bitesize revision. Only negative is the buzzer!
Hello doctor. Much thanks for this resource. It would be very useful if we had your input regarding the interviews for the standalone . Thanks in advance

Hello sir, I have done my post in Jan 2023. And the consultant I have worked with then is signing my crest form. So can I mention the date of completion when he is signing it that is in 2024 or when my post was finished in 2023. Please help me with this query
Date of completion is the date they sign the form
COCP is protective against the O's: Ovarian ca, endOmetrial ca, and cOlOn ca.
Thank you sir, is it OK if the consultant doesn't have an official email and use a Gmail instead?
Yes, any email is fine
If I’ve been upgraded to my 6th choice and I don’t want to be upgraded to my 1st to 5th choice anymore. Is it possible to opt out of future upgrades before the upgrade deadline so I can remain on that 6th choice? Thank you.
Yes, untick the "opt in to upgrades" checkbox and save.
If one is ranked but was not able to get marched or get a job offer in round 1, can the person still retake the exam/ re-apply in round 2 of the exams that takes place in September?
Yes - you just apply again via Oriel and complete a new application
@@EmedicaEducation Thanks for the prompt response
Hello doctor great video, very helpful! I had one question. Is it possible to reorder our preferences after first round? I just saw that psych prefernces closes in a couple of days and i wont be able to readearch and rank all my preferences. So i was thinking of ranking like 5 places and then ranking the rest next round, is that possible?
You can change preferences after the first cycle of offers in between each offer / upgrade cycle. They usually lock again a few hours / the day before each cycle runs. However, it is better to rank correctly in one go, as most jobs will be gone on the first day of offers.
Hi, thanks for the detailed video. If I select 'Hold' (not accept), can I still opt in for upgrades? And what is the upgrade deadline for this round?
Yes, you can. Please read this post for a detailed explanation and key dates: facebook.com/groups/gprecruitment/posts/7410265522364251
Hey sir quick question is it ‘ select none’ or ‘select All’ once you have put your preferences?
It makes no difference. Just save
Hi! Thanks for a great video. Is it possible to hold offers with upgrades for two different specialities? Ie. having applied for both EM + anaesthetics, can I wait to see my final update offer for both specialities before accepting one?
You can only hold an offer for one specialty at a time. So if you are holding one and get another offer from a different specialty, if you now hold that one, the first application will automatically change to reject and end.
Hello, I want to apply for the upcoming training that will begin February but by then my license would have been more than a year which means I would have to withdraw it and keep just my registration. Would that have any impact on me getting a placement?
As long as you have a licence by the start date of training it won't impact your application
Thank you for sharing this useful resource
If someone selects their first 10 favorite places but randomly ranks the rest , the whole list, does it reduce the chances of getting the first 10 preferences?
Yes, as if you get an offer from a place you don't actually want, and reject it, your application will end. If you accept an offer you don't want and don't get upgraded, as you won't be on the waiting list anymore you won't be eligible for offers after the upgrade deadline. Only rank areas you would take a job in, as mentioned in the video.
@@EmedicaEducation thank you so much Dr.Rahman .
