The Walabot Multifunction Stud Finder & Wall Scanner uses Radio Frequency (RF) technology for advanced detection and In-Wall Imaging.
The tool is a cutting edge device which is paired with an Android or iOS phone to produce a visual image of what is inside drywall up to 4 inches (10 cm) deep.
The Walabot detects metal objects, wood studs, wires, pipes and can show movement behind walls, for example, rodent exploratory movements.
Walabot DIY can be used by contractors, electricians, plumbers and DIYers in need of advanced wall imaging capabilities.

Im excited to try it. Got it for my dad and hes letting me borrow it to find joists to fix my squeeky damn floor
Would it find a firearm behind a wall? Can't seem to get an answer

Im glad that a company finally states that a stud finder works on plaster and lath, 16 inch is typical but in some places 20 or 24 is also common as well
Does detect pvc water pipes in the wall?
What laser were you using ?
Are there any updated hardware released, or new versions coming out with more capabilities or more signal? I'd like to do the in-wall stud-finder and pipe/cable detection, but would like to incorporate it into a 3d space like SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) so that as you follow a pipe across the ceiling and between rooms, it' is building a continuous map, and so long as you can keep connecting it, could provide you a good plumbing schematic (like doing a photostitch) but with 3d information collected from the raw mmwave, rendered space in 3d. Does the walabot or other vayyar tech do this to kind of spatially map the room and objects in the area, etc.? (or into the walls/beyond for pipes and cabling)?
There is no button that says expert mode. I have the diy2 m.... Please help
The DIY2M is not equipped with Expert Mode. Please use Images Mode for all of your scanning needs
Can it measure drywall density, 1/4” vs 5/8”? For firewall would need a 5/8” sheet and 1/2” sheet side by side. Can it detect two sheets and their it width? Thanks
The Walabot will not detect density
No it can't
Can it measure density of drywall, 1/4” vs 5/8” ? Thanks
No it won't detect density.
Lets see lath and plaster which is the majority population of homes in America. then do walls with interior spray foam. ceilings with foam tiles+plaster/drywall nobody is even showing fiberglass insulation. the most common obstacle. I assume no issue do to the tech being RF we've seen it can do stone from other users but can it identify these different obstacle's behind each other.
The Walabot works with insulation so long as there is no foil backing or metal fibers. The Walabot will not work on lathe and plaster
can we just stop with the silliness and do a lath and plater wall? or insulation? spray foam wall? what about glued ceiling tiles on top of ceiling drywall?
The Walabot works on drywall and plywood. It will work on walls with insulation so long as there are no metal fibers or foil backing.
Just bought it to supplement my FLIR thermal camera. Hope it works as well as advertised.
Hope your unit is as good as advertised. Just bought it
The old one only worked on plasterboard walls. Does this work on block and wet plaster walls?
This tool is meant for capturing visual images in drywall and plywood.
I’m just gonna say what we ALL are thinking: Walnut has some seriously high octane, mega-wattage star quality.
Walnut is a cutie
I believe this device needs WiFi to connect to your phone.
The Walabot does not need an external wifi source in order to work
Pipe and wire look the same??
Yes they do.
I had limited success trying to use it to find floor joists through solid hardwood over plywood (1.5 inch total oak plus ply). I may be asking too much!
The Walabot will not work on hardwood floors.
Shame the newer versions dont work with lath an plaster or concrete anymore. Really wish I had known this before ordering one! Its basically useless for most houses in the uk
Does it work on tile?
No it won't
Can it sense through ceramic wall tile?
No it can't
What about a lathe n plaster wall?
The Walabot won't work on lathe and plaster
Does it work on thick plaster walls
No it doesn't
@@Walabot thanks
What about pex pipe like everyone is moving towards using these days?
The Walabot detects pex pipes.
My electrical wires run down from the ceiling and are stapled to the stud wall. Can you show us a demonstration with a wire like that please? Also, my walls have a 1.5" thick piece of Styrofoam over them that has a shiny radiant barrier on one side. Can your device see through that?!?
We do not have a demo of that unfortunately but it would be difficult for the Walabot to find a wire stapled to the stud as well as the styrofoam issue.
@@Walabot Weird, that's one I would have thought it could do. What can the Walabot see then at the intersection of a wood stud with a wire going through it? Just the wood? Or does it think the wire is wood too?? We want to find studs but also avoid wires too. Also, what about larger heat vent ducts? Just some ideas for future videos.
The Walabot will not see the intersection. If the wire is hidden by the stud it will not see it. The Walabot will see piping.
Does it work on waterproofing membraned tiled plaster boards? would be great if you could do a video
No it doesn't
How thick is that Sheetrock you are testing on and does layers of paint over the years have an effect on how well it works?
It's standard 1/2 inch sheetrock. Paint doesn't affect Walabot performance; even if it's several layers.
Will it work through thicker walls such as concrete
Walabot DIY 2 and 2M are best used on drywall or plywood. It is not recommended for concrete.
Nice! American issues solver
Hi, can it detect beams under wood floors? If not, is there another model for that purpose? Thanks!
Hi, The Walabot will not work on wood floors
@@Walabot - Thank you ! Do you recommand another model that works on floors ?
Unfortunately, don't have any models that work on flooring.
@Walabot -Thanks ! :)
Happy to assist! :)
Hi, can it detect beams under wooden floors? Thanks!
No it cannot
@@Walabot -Thanks ! :)
Does it see plastic pipe. Aka water leaks behind drywall
The Walabot sees pipes but will not detect a leak.
Plastic waterline? Hello
Yes, the Walabot will detect plastic pipes.
Right On! 🙌 The Walabot is awesome 👏
Thank you for your kind comments! We love hearing from happy customers!
What about tile on the walls
Walabot DIY 2 is not recommended for tile walls. Walabot works best on drywall or plywood.
Squatter: i am your walls Him:
I don't like to need to sign in. A simple printed manual would be helpful. How do you know when the battery is charged?
When you are in the app in scan mode there will be a battery indicator icon in the top right of your screen that will show the battery’s percentage.
Does it work on insulated walls?
Walabot works with insulated walls as long as the insulation does not contain metal.
@@Walabotit seems like it may work on linoleum or carpet floors as well. It would be nice to drill under a new kitchen island and not be scared to hit the cold/hot water. 😅
Unfortunately Walabots don't work on floors.
might be a wierd queswtion and i am assuming that yes but will it find junction boxes?
It will locate junction boxes but not identify them.
Gracias a los comentarios. Hay decisiones.
Doesn't work on crows foot or heavy texture according to support. Anyone have a solution?
😊
Yea, none of this happened. 😅 At least have your story make sense.😅😂
