Buildahottub

How do I build a Hot Tub? Building my own DIY Hot Tub was such a fun process. I did however, struggle to find information. I decided that after I finished building my own DIY Hot Tub I was going to put all of my new-found knowledge into a website. This is how www.buildahottub.com started. Today, I help DIYers just like you build your own Hot Tubs. From planning to parts, I can help you with it all. Armed with the right information, you too can build your own dream DIY Hot Tub.

    I could have this wrong, but isn’t a grounding wire a thick copper wire you run to a steel pole beat into the ground? Or is no pole required? My dad had a pool and spa company and I remember installing some hot tubs with him around a decade ago but can’t remember all the details!

    Yes, there is a ground rod connected to these copper loops (in fact there are 4 rods for this piece of code!) Appreciate the comment have a good weekend - Andi

    use flex pipe , because bad back fill w/ gravel leads to cracked lines. fill w/ sand and careful tamping, then geavel will give a better longterm outcome. ( from my experience)

    Appreciate the comment thank you - not a fan of flex - it tends to "flex" its way to a leak in the future which is why my customers go with rigid pipe - have a great weekend - Andi

    Has anyone been able to connect Alexa with the controlmyspa? I cannot connect Alexa, it opens the app after scanning the QR code and does nothing, then a few minutes later Alexa says it cannot connect to it. and when it opens in the web browser, does nothing, nowhere to register it. Who in the world wrote this app, Balboa has been horrible in the past with there apps and this again is another failure

    If a Hot Tub ( Spa ) is fueled by an LPG tank and the gas runs out during the night will the spa reignite ( automatically ) when a new LPG supply is switched over at a later time ?

  • @Buildahottub
    @Buildahottub3 күн бұрын

    Hi There, depends on the unit I guess and the specific ignition system that it has. There will be sensors that sense the flow of gas so the burner will stop when there is no flow - whether that comes back automatically, I think will be down to the unit. Hope that helps - Andi

    Hi Andy wonder if you con help with a little advice, i have a Grand Canyon spa, 3 Ha440 pumps Blower and ozone, went out of comision 2 years ago, recently i purchased a Balboa BP8 control pack with top side spa touch mini, all went well with set up and install had to change all the spa pump plugs etc for amp plugs, anyway after restarting PUMP 1 a 2 Speed started at 1st speed, tried to start 2nd speed and it tripped the house breaker, and then would not start at all, Pump 2 single speed dead nothing, pump 3 working perfectly blower working, i examined the pumps and decided i would also replace for new, i installed the new pumps, but got exactly the same result, if i plug pump 2 into pump 3 socket it works so i'm pretty sure its not the pumps.

  • @Buildahottub
    @Buildahottub5 күн бұрын

    Hi Tony, i'll be doing a series of videos on the BP8 system soon as Balboa have actually just sent me a unit for my channel. You should be set to Spa Pack to Program #7. If you have not done this it could be the root of your problem. DIP1 up and then you can go into the settings menu on the Spa Touch mini. Check what connectons you have things plugged into - Pump 1 (2 speed) into J9, Pump 2 J14 - pump3 and blower into Expander Board. - hope that helps - Andi

    I have an H20-RS1 flow through heater, and a 2.5hp pump. I have it wired in a very basic way in that when i manually switch the pump on, the heater is wired into that switch, so it only recieves power when the pump is running, is there a way to wire it, so the pump will be triggered by the temperature drop in the flow through heater? Or do i need the "spa pack" you mentioned to control this?

    You should have 2 suctions drains at the base, a skimmer at the top so suction is both top and bottom - hot water returns can come in the middle of the walls. Hope that helps - Andi

    Hello there, maybe you can help me: I am currently building a concrete whirlpool in germany (concrete floor. walls are made with concrete bricks). how much time do i have to wait to apply the sealing slurry and install the glass mosaik tiles after the concrete floor has been poured? under the concrete floor is a polyethylene tarpaulin. and under that is gravel. someone i know said at least 3 weeks, because the concrete has to dry and can not breathe if sealed from both sides. I hope you understand what i am talking 😅
