    To avoid seam puckering on slippery fabric, you have to either hand or machine baste before sewing the seams. Pins don't grip the slippery fabric strong enough so there would be movement of the fabric as it falls off the sewing machine plate.

    @jensewsvintage20 күн бұрын

    thankyou for the tip (: I tried a basting stitch it puckered worse 😭 I feel like it would've helped I think alot of factors played into it maybe I did not catch 🥲 I think adding all the things everyone said and your tip together will help 🥹

    Loved that you lined it. The color works well for you and looks nice when wearing the gown. From my 40+ years of experience, I put a strip of tear away stabilizer on the bottom piece and then put another in between the layers of fabric. Smaller stitches may help but that is just me. When ironing, use a clapper and place iit on the seam you just ironed, it will set the pressing.

    It looks gorgeous! I can relate to the pondering process being a big part of sewing... Sometimes, I'm envious of the people who dive in and churn stuff out without the ~agonising~ that I do, but then I know I'd rather have a garment that's thoughtfully approached and carefully finished.

    On a side note, your hair is SO CUTE!!! It looks so floaty and fun 🥹 the length really suits your face shape, too! the dress turned out so well!! I also wonder how to keep the seams on silk from getting wobbly. Maybe it has something to do with stabilizing it better? I was really impressed with how well the lining looked as well, I was kind of worried when you chose a different color for the lining because I thought it would peak out but you can't see it at all in the reveal shots! So pretty!!

    A lingerie slip isn’t necessarily for sleeping in, it’s more for wearing under other dresses. It helps to smooth out your underwear lines, and helps the dress to stay all the way down instead of riding up. The slippery fabric lets gravity do its job

    It's quite stylish so nice work which makes me look forward to more content from ya when you do these early 1900s pieces in your style cuz they just have a certain vibe that was classy and elegant that many new pieces lack. Your and your piece here show why I argue against this 90s vintage trend in fashion cuz of its ridiculous baggy messy look and argue for fashion to update pieces from the 1900s-1950s for their sense of class.

    Omg, it's too cute and stylish showing why Cosmo dropped a vid of its photoshoot w/ Dove Cameron in a 60s inspired blue and black outfit three weeks ago; it'd be a true gift if you could replicate that outfit using your own style as well since you're very skilled! Your piece here reminds me why I'm so over this 90s vintage baggy trend cuz I felt it looked sloppy or messy back then and it still looks ridiculous today cuz pieces look like they could house a family just like they did in the 90s, whereas I favor pieces that accentuate an individual's profile or complement an individual's curves.
