Hey all, welcome to my channel, I'm Laur, and I have an unhealthy obsession with travel!
In 2022, I packed up all my things, put them in storage, left my home in the UK and started my life as a Digital Nomad. This has been a dream of mine for so long, and I spent most of the first year hopping between countries and living in Bali. As I get settled into Digital Nomad and remote working life, I wanted to document my adventures, and would love for you to follow along!
At the moment, I'm living my best life out in Australia, and will share as much as I can on here and socials 🖤

Hey girl thanks so much for your comment I really appreciate it! 🤍 I loved living in Sydney but I’ve actually just moved to the Gold Coast! I haven’t been to Brisbane yet but I do hear lots of amazing things about it. One thing I’ll say about Sydney is it actually rains a LOT 😂💀 so if you’re coming to Aus to escape crap weather then I’d probably go Queensland haha xx
Hey I just got my visa granted. Is there anything I need to do or is it litterly just a case of rocking up at the airport and everything will be ok?thanks
so exciting!! The visa is linked to your passport so you can literally just go through immigration scanning your passport :) You can print the visa / have it handy on your phone in case but they shouldn't ask to see it in Australia - maybe at your departure airport though

Majority of Europeans in Australia are descendents of English convicts and pommes that live in Australia, most English people first destination is to immigrate to Australia as its a British colony.
@@trekkie-cat Australia is a British colony look at the flag British rule majority that live there trace their history back to England and Ireland that is a fact , Australia belongs to the idignoeus Aborigines.

How did you go about making friends making the move from the UK?
Joining Facebook groups, or bumble bff and I also made friends through work and then met friends of friends / housemates etc 😊
How did u rent from the uk? I’m planning to move but not sure if I should come to Sydney to view and rent or to place deposits etc while I’m still in the uk
I waited til I got here! I did start looking and messaging while in the UK but honestly it just stressed me out as places got taken so quickly, once I got here it was so much easier 🥰
All the comments here about spiders. As an Australian l dont understand the english paranoid fear of Australian spiders, to me they are just harmless insects you step on, No one has died from a venomous spider bite in Australia since 1979, l think bees and wasps kill one or two people a year so why not fear bees and wasps they are much more dangerous

Haha Sydney night life has become weird in the last 10 years or so after the lockdown rules in CBD, which I believe they lifted now??? So many night clubs went bankrupt. Before that the place to be was in Kings cross, had tons of night clubs but today it’s just real estates. So weird. Nowadays it seems Sydney siders go out around Bondi area, Manly or Newtown.. Or maybe that’s changed as well, don’t live in Sydney anymore unfortunately 😂
yeah from what I've heard its exactly what you said - Bondi / Manly Newtown! I rarely go out anyway haha

How about the spiders is it ok from the location your living as I want to move more to the city to avoid big spiders but its about affordability. Plus is that 500.00 per room or for the whole house
Honestly we've had 3 huntsman in the house in 3 months! But we are surrounded by trees where we are so that's why :) Lots of friends who live in Prymont / Surry hills / newtown etc have never seen any
and I pay $245 a week rent (the whole place is $750 a week split between 3 housemates)

The grand canyon walk is a good one to do and experience. Also there's a section that is kept secret from the public as it has ferns there that are from prehistoric times and are not found anywhere else in the world. Fun fact

Hyams Beach looks amazing! How did you get to Bondi Junction from North Sydney? Did you take the buses or was it a mix of bus and train? I’m thinking about returning to Sydney from California after decades and want to get a feel for how to get around without a car.
It was a mixture of buses and trains! I got the B1 which is a quick 10 minute bus to Wynyard and then the train from Wynyard straight to Bondi Jct! If I'm going just to the city its a very easy bus ride! Sometimes to get a bit further afield it will be a mixture of buses / train / light rail but generally speaking its been very easy to get around 😊
Are flywire screens not a standard window accessory in Sydney or have the tennants just lucked out?
