    way back in 2021 i saw both 890 and 790 dyno and only saw the 890 to be 3hp above at peak over the 790 it wasn't a huge gap fast forward to 2023 looks like they worked on the 890 engine and made gains by increasing the peak by 10hp ans 5 lb ft torque over the 790, but i think the 790 is still the one to pick given that it was offered by cf moto and being applied to more bikes that makes it more reliable than the 890 and also more cheaper, 790 power plant is already powerful enough you wont even feel the power difference in real world usage

    Thanks for sharing @rideroll9609! 😊 I have also experienced the higher wind screen and it indeed blocks the wind very well which is ideal for highway cruising. On twisty roads I must say I prefer the lower standard wind screen since you experience the speed more. This makes it more fun at lower speeds for me personally. It would be best to have both wind screens and mount the higher versions when your trip also includes a lot of highway kilometers. 😉

    Purchased a 2023 KTM SMC 690 R after having a previous model of the same bike. This bike is truly an abomination, especially in terms of engine and components. Given the terrible purchase, I decided to completely modify it to try to make it run properly. I have completely modified the bike with: Full Tekmo exhaust without cat Dedicated map DNA air filter Removal of recirculation and canister The bike has improved, but the power delivery remains terrible. One thing that can't be modified is the lack of engine braking due to electronic intervention. Therefore, there is no engine braking, and it feels like riding a 2-stroke. Additionally, the throttle response makes it hard to get braking points right if you brake hard. The quality of all the plastics has deteriorated significantly. I already have engine covers that are all scratched up (probably due to lower-quality plastic). Terrible purchase. DO NOT BUY this bike if you want a supermoto.

    Moto pessima.

    I'm only 5'11" old guy and just sitting on the Honda it was much easier and had way more comfortable foot peg position. The KTM pegs are back and high very uncomfortable to me. Plus the Honda feels less like a tank around the tank. Haven't road either no comment there. Not a big fan of all these adventure bikes that make you feel like you have a 50gal drum between your legs. The Triumph 900 still feels and looks like a classic motorcycle and not sitting on a 50gal Drum. Love the Ducati Desert Sled

  • @moto-news

    @paulreid3273 thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences! 😊👍 Regarding your comment about the "50gal drum between your legs" I understand what you mean. These adventure bikes are a bit wider than the mentioned Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled for example. They aim at being able to travel for multiple days to far away destinations while traveling on paved and unpaved roads. When you prefer a slimmer tank feeling you can look into a KTM 690 ENDURO, the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled or a bike like CFMoto 450MT. Anyway, very smart you tried sitting on different bikes so you get a feeling which suits you best.😃 Do you own a Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled at the moment?

    Japanese motorcycles are built different, there's alot of transalps from the 80s out there riding everyday, while KTM bikes look amazing and ride pretty well, they're not bikes that will survive a longtime, and for that reason, i will never buy a bike from a European brand.

    @0:22 Honda Wet weight vs KTM Dry weight....Good start...🤔

  • @moto-news
    @moto-newsАй бұрын

    @rayshobbyfarm.1019 thanks for your comment. The reason we compared these different statistics is that both manufacturers choose to report either the "wet" or the "dry" weight. We understand that they are slightly different but prefer not to "estimate" the extra weight in order to match them (by adding for example 10 kg to the dry weight). Therefore me mention only the real numbers which are correct and the viewer can interpret that the dry weight need some extra kg for the necessary oil and fuel. Hope this explains our reasoning a bit and the rest of the comparisons were useful to you and others. 😊👍

    What is the part number for the dash that allows the front brake and abs cable to go through? I looked it up and does not look like that dash panel. I have the same wind screen and need to rout it correctly. kzread.info/dash/bejne/aIyMrsVxf7PXZNI.html

    @ridemfast7625, do the cables not run like they do standard when you mount the extra wind screen? In the accessories section of this model I could not find any information indeed. In the technical spare parts finder it does not become clear to me neither, only the standard dashboard is mentioned: sparepartsfinder.husqvarna-motorcycles.com/ComponentGroupTemplate/Index/55692?modelidentifier=1002327899&isEngine=False . Riding a super-adventure would make your list complete 😉 Biggest advantage of a super-advanture is the flexibility that you can take some offroad roads and not have to turn around as you probably will when riding a supersport...On the other hand, a lot of super-adventure riders never take offroad roads because they are not used to it. That does not have to be a problem cause they are often suitable for touring on paved roads as well. Good luck with your choice.👍
