Welcome! I'm Emily and I started making faux food as part of a project for my Master's Degree - long story! I'm so excited to share tutorials and techniques I've learned with you.
Hi!! Just discovered your channel and abosultely loved it!! Appreciate all your creation, and the time taken to put in all those details🌟🌟 I am thinking to learn this technique for a school project to make a international food gallery, but have no experience to it and there is barely other sources teaching to make life-size food models. It would be really great if you can make a beginners guide for some tips to start off, and i would also love to learn how to make realistic dish like, a ramen bowl!!🤩🤩 Thank you so much~~

This is amazing! I use a silicone mold and polymer clay because i am lazy 😂

Understandable! This is a time consuming method for sure.

How long do these have to dry. Before you can display them?
@fauxfoodcreations29082 ай бұрын
About 24 hours I’d say

Can not wait to do this!!! After I paint them I am going to coat them in Mod Podge so when they go into the container they will stick together.... at least that's the plan!! We have some really jenky ones in our Prop Room that I have been dying to re-do. Again, thanks for great, simple instructions!!!
@debraquantmeyer74834 ай бұрын
I struggled with the tissue/toilet paper molding, so I opted for air dry foam clay which I can shape easier. I got the styrofoam balls at DT and went to town. While mine are not near as perfect as yours, they came out pretty good and I think they will do fine for a theater prop (30 foot rule applies! LOL). Thanks for a great tutorial and next time I will try to be more patient with the paper method! LOL I was given NO time to create the props for this particular show, so I am grateful for the simple instructions you provided. :)

Clay is a good alternative! The tissue paper is a bit finicky!

I just love watching your videos!!! Is there a reason you use Tacky Glue rather than hot glue?
@fauxfoodcreations29082 ай бұрын
Glad you like them! I just find tacky glue more convenient, but I’m sure hot glue would work.

Love this! Did you or can you glue some of the halves together? Or are the almonds and Cashews all halves only? I can't see the back sides... I am going to try this with strawberries.
@fauxfoodcreations29085 ай бұрын
Thanks, I didn't glue them together, but you defintiely could! I'd keep some extra clay on hand to smooth any gaps, but that's a great idea!

@@fauxfoodcreations2908 Update: I tried this and my silicone wouldn't blend together in the dish soap solution, so I just tried straight silicone and guess what? My nuts stuck! LOL Now I think I know the purpose of the dish soap... So why didn't my silicone blend together? I am using water clean up silicone clear. Maybe I need to use a different kind? I am going to try it again and this time work the silicone in that dish water until the cows come home!

Can we use any foam spray or just a specific one? And do all foam sprays have different stuff in it that makes it hardened when dry?

Anything should work as long as it’s a foam spray sealant.

Could you do raspberry the same way? It’s very clever x
@fauxfoodcreations29088 ай бұрын
Yes, raspberries tend to be a little smaller so you could roll the toilet paper thinner and then use a red paint instead of black!
