Adwhyta is a storytelling lab at the intersection of science, philosophy, culture, nature and history, which takes inspiration from exploratory travel and soul searching. Adwhyta aims to explore different ethnohraphies and understand life in its purest sense. It was founded by filmmaker MSN Karthik in 2016.
What does the term mean?
Adwhyta represents Advaita, which is the philosophy of non-duality explaining the realization of Atman = Brahman. The 'why' in Adwhyta represents the question of our existence as in, 'why do I exist?', 'why am I doing the things that I do?', etc. This kind of self-questioning and soul searching leads to enlightenment and helps me tell stories as an awakened soul.

I was drawn towards Buddhism through a Buddha Statue my father has given to my mother as a wedding anniversary gift.. it was sitting there on top of a large piece of furniture "looking down" on all the events unfolding..since I started to look into Buddhism, lucky enough there was a "Buddhist house" in my home town, a little temple attached to it and a library, founded by Dr. Paul Dahlke in 1958 in Berlin/Germany, I often went there and enjoyed the calmness and secludedness of that place, finally I made it to India several times, it was a game changer, 55 years later I still hold that statue in high esteem and as a reminder of the wonderful teachings of this wonderful being !

Unfortunately Buddhism went extinct in India. A foreign prince from Lumbini, Nepal, he seek enlightenment and travel down south region and founded Buddhism. Thanks to the British who repaired the ruins for otherwise it can never be restored.
My introduction to Buddhism was through Gary Snyder's book of essays, "The Practice of the Wild," which interlaced American Indian and Zen buddhist teachings and understandings. I was fifteen when I first read that book. Now, approaching forty, when it comes to Buddhism, I haven't looked back.
