why would you sit in the turret holding a round while offroad? hit a bump, bang it against the breech, leak propellant. keep that thing in the rack till its needed. holding rounds like that is a mistake. being on an Abrams for a few years, this is a bit cringy to watch.
@MikalHjortby Жыл бұрын
It makes no difference whether you're lap loading or have it racked in the ready rack in case of a hit. However it will make loading faster.. All the ammunition are stored in the hull and turret. and not like the M1 stored safe with blow-out ammo racks , and since we're not using combustible case ammunition. Like the Abrams and Leopard 2. It isn't a problem. However this is just a show for the public with show and safety regulations in mind. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qaltt6N7iMyTZKQ.html Both leopard 1's and tank crews has been out of active service for a minimum of 10+ years. So don't think all of this in the video are tactically correct. But thanks for your advice ;)

Denmark does not have a Leopard 1 A5 but only 1 A4 and Leopard 2. The square tower on the Leopard 1 is always an A3 or A4. An A1, A2 or A5 has a round turret, while the A2 and A5 have additional armor.
@MikalHjortby3 жыл бұрын
Actually denmark got the leopard 1A3 in 1973, then it was upgraded to 1A5 in 1993 shortly before Deployment to Tuzla in Bosnia, it then during the mission in former yugoslavia upgraded again in 1997 to Leopard 1A5-DK1. The Leopard 1 ended it’s active service in 2003 and was replaced by Leopard 2A5. Which just has been upgraded to A7 now.. and it’s not the turret shape that defines the upgrade. I did my service on the Leopard 1A5. And also deployed to bosnia in the leopard, So I should know 😉 Otherwise if you wish to learn more about the leopards in the danish army. I can recommend this book. www.trackpadpublishing.com/product-page/the-leopard-1-in-danish-service

Well that was exactly what these did during the balkan wars in the 90's. However these Leopard1A5's has been retired since 2003. So If you don't know Åben hede is. Which it seems with that comment.
