  I am confused b/c I thought free divers (and anyone going deep, for any reason) had to have weights to take them down, and didn't know it was possible to stand and walk on the bottom at ANY depth?

  the pressure ate depth compresses the air in your lungs, making you less buoyant, so at 10 meters Stig is already negatively buoyant. He also had some weights in his swimsuit, that helped.

  well, we have to be economical with our air, and equalising a mask just takes away air from our lungs. Plus there's not much to see when you're diving deep.

  it has a CGI looking effect to it. ... where is such a place ? What is its purpose? Can anyone help me out? Why is the facility flooded? The water is also just so Crystal Clear it doesn't even look like he's in water. I don't recall seeing one single bubble come from anything or even a particle in the water ..I just think it's a very odd place if it's real

  it's called Nemo33, it's in Brussels and for a while it was the world's deepest pool. It's mostly used by scuba divers but they also let freedivers in, so we managed to film this.
