@@sma11caliber Driver, or a 3 wood with a lower degree of loft, but if you get them from Curated, PXG, Byrdie Golf, or Stix, then you could get both for the same price as just a newer driver

Word of caution, if you're slicing, your face is open to your path, and your path is out to in. If you follow this advice, and begin swinging in to out, but still have a face to path that is open, it will end up farther right than it did before because now you're hitting a push slice, rather than a pull slice or straight slice (regarding start line and curve behavior). Also, if you start turning your hands over, you're gonna hit hooks.

So good. 2 questions. 1. How far away from the ball do you set up. Since these shots are usually with the arms connected to the body, is it slightly closer? I struggle with off the heel with these shots a lot. 2. Do you play a square face? Or slightly open to help expose the bounce?

  • @RoryDollGolf

Great questions! Typically we want to set up where our weight is completely balanced, and when in posture our hands are hanging directly over your toe line. As far as the face goes, you can certainly open slightly, just keep in mind the ball will launch slightly right!

That rearward spine tilt is my worst habit. Results in a chunk unless I’ve got the ball tee’d up.

I get what he’s saying, but the examples he used makes no sense. Because hitting something and throwing something is totally different. Like baseball for example, yeah when you play catch you’re looking and throwing at your target without looking at the ball, but you have possession of the ball in your hands. But when you’re trying to hit the baseball with a bat, you have to look at the ball to hit the ball. You can’t look where you want to hit to make it go there. Just bad examples but I get what he’s trying to teach. But he also looked at the ball when he hit it. Obviously yeah you don’t keep your head down when hit the ball, after you hit you look where it goes and follow through towards your target.
