Hello Guy. Thank you so much for your videos. Being a sound, bass guitar and Pink Floyd fan, I am hoping that you will see this message and i can imagine thst you are way too busy to check or answer this question... i am wondering if the extremely deep and present bass sound after the seagul part (so to speak) of Echoes is only your bass and if so what effects did you use. I mean the royal albert hall verion of echoes. Saw you live in Rotterdam 1994 and Amsterdam 2006. Regards and greetings from the Netherlands Mike

You mentioned Measure for Measure - When Cross The Border was released, I bought the 12" which really made the bass playing prominent. Probably the root cause of me picking up a bass.

I love this!!! The passing comment at 15:03 "...if I learnt to read music...I should have made notes..."! I love that the practice comes before the theory. Often, bass players are the lowest in the pecking order (which is fine) but when you get a head banging ripper like this, people don't know who to attribute this to--it's the groove in the bass!! Hands down one of my favourite videos exploring the reality of the music industry and (Guy) your down-to-earth nature demonstrates that we don't need to know all of our stuff (musically) to bring joy to the masses through music. Top stuff!

Great song. Question for you. Sidewalk gets a lot of comparisions to Roxy Music and Simple minds. On certain songs. Like this song is very Roxy Music. Considering Icehosur started as a cover band, do you have any thoughts regarding what you guys were inspired by to write these? Influenced by Roxy ?

No politics, mate, but your bass is buried in the mix on this YT recording, somehow that punchy Spector is lost in the sauce . You gotta punch that thing to the front pal. come on man This is about you.

BE ALLOWED? Are you kidding me? That bass line MAKES that song. My band is planning to rock that song out... mainly because of that Dm section.. and that bass line HAS to be there. My bass player may kill me for suggesting it...

Stumbled across Jimmy Nail's 'Growing Up ...' cd in a charity shop. I knew it had Gary Moore on the eautiful track 'Absent Friends' - but it was only when I checked out the credits I see a certain David Gilmour on several tracks. This CD is a hidden gem. Wonderful bass playing from yourself, Guy - and loving catching up on some of these old Lockdown vids.

What bothered me the most was the unbuttoned button on the shirt pocket, but otherwise good. No, really, as always, excellent :D Thank you very much for such videos. You're a cool dude. ;)

After considerable AI-powered image analysis I can report that his shirt is actually missing that button (whether through negligence or malice), not merely that it is in a state of unbuttonedness. I fear we would need to unravel the first mystery before we can solve the second.
