30-years ago, my daughter and I made a patchwork quilt. Her job was to decide what patch went where. She thought it would be fun to dump them in a bag and pull one at a time. We still have (love and use) the quilt.

How does vodka and distilled water do anything to fabric

  • @sewbeitquilts

It works like a light starch. The ingredients used to make vodka contain starch… such as corn and potatoes.

I've made 3-4 of these quilt tops. I haven't quilted them yet. One is going to be turned into a quilt coat. The last one I just finished is made of 2 blocks - yellow and blue and white and blue. I made it with alternating colors so they are like square rings of color - if that makes sense. I made 20 blocks and it makes about a 64x80 quilt. I think the blocks are 15/16" inches square? These are so easy and fun to make. They make a great project to cleanse your sxewing palette. I have a bin now that is bursting with 2.5x4.5" rectangles. Love yours with the stars in the middle!

  • @sewbeitquilts

I love scrappy quilts. I used to work in 2 quilt shops. My last boss gives me scraps that she doesn’t want to put into scrap bags. I love using them for scrap quilts, I get to try many different looks, and don’t put expense into them. I haven’t tried a potato chip block, but I want to. @@sewbeitquilts It was easy! I’m just a Doofus! I knew better than to cut before checking twice. I just didn’t do it. It’s probably a key to the success of the pattern, part of the reason it’s so appealing. I love the pattern and will try it again on my mountain of charm squares. It’s a great twist on the disappearing tack in patterns.
