My mother had this model except her's was a 2001 Chrysler. It had all leather seating 4 caption chairs, sunroof, and it had a built in vhs player. It was all clean, it looked brand new. Except the three disc Cd changer was ready to give out and the transmission was ready to give out. So, my mother wasted her money on a early thousands Chrysler mini van. We did not until my after my mother bought it that it had a bad transmission. So, my mother bought a brand new 2014 KIA Sedona which is by far a better car, than the early 2000's Chrysler mini van. Warning to all people do not go out buy a late 1990's or early 2000's mini van, because you do not know how long they are going to last and car dealer ships are not going to be truthful about the engine or transmission. My m other only had her Chrysler, for a month and a half. I was wondering why the car dealership was selling a Chrysler Town and Country for 4,000 dollars, now I knew why until after the fact.

Sorry to hear about the issues. We have an 01 DGC EX with over 250K on the original trans. And engine. Outside of the engine burning around a quart of oil every 2K miles, she runs great. The trans. Is well built for the 4th gen. T&C/DGC. The problem was people not using the correct ATF+4 fully synthetic fluid recommended by Chrysler. This caused premature failure. Dealerships sales reps are not mechanics, they just sale cars. If the problem didn't show at the time of the test drive, you wouldn't know there was a problem. That's why it's important to have a used vehicle looked at by a really good mechanic.

I have the same van but mine has a power sunroof and dvd system I love it when I go camping I've had it since it was 3 yr old and I've drove it everywhere I ain't scared to go anywhere with it love the stereo it sounds amazing even when watching movies
