The officer who lied about being "dragged by his vehicle", needs to be placed on the Brady list, as a known liar on sworn statements! The video clearly showed the officer ran into his car, to stop him, out of angry for a perceived idea that he was being ignored! Then, to harm the reputation of a very good man, he lied about being dragged by his vehicle, likely wanting to fleece the taxpayers out of money, for injuries he didn't receive! He also may have thought he could sue Scotty, and take money he did not earn!

So will the police officer who lied on the police report be prosecuted? Video shows not dragged. Two witnesses say he was not dragged. Another dirty cop goes free.

Seems to me anyone who loves to hear themselves talk qualifies to be a lawyer. I object your honor, this guy is going way to long. Gotta love how everyone enters the court and os ready to go and the judge asks if they want to tale a break. WTH?

Another overzealous cop who won’t take even a brief moment to analyze and put things in perspective. Scottie is lucky this cop didn’t detect the odor of alcohol or weed emanating from his vehicle like in so many traffic stops.

Scottie was on his way to work in a work vehicle. The cop made up charges to try to ruin this guy's life. Hes the number one golfer in the world. So if those made up charges stuck, how much damage does that do to the PGA? Not just Scottie. Also Scottie was only three shots back in the tournament at the time. First place payout is 3.3 million dollars. He ended up in a tie for 8th at the end of the tournament. Could he have won that tournament and the 3.3 million dollars if he didn't go through the trumped-up charges/ arrest? Maybe. I understand Scottie wanting to put this behind him however the PGA should hire a private investigator and comb through that cops backround and make it public whatever they find. How many arrests does this guy do without his body camera on? How many arrests do any of the cops do without a body camera on? It's pretty obvious this cop was willing to bring up fake charges to a guy worth 50 million dollars, how in the world does anybody living paycheck to paycheck stand a chance against that cop and police chief who had his back? The PGA in my opinion needs to do a thorough investigation of police force who tried to damage not only the number one golfer on their tour but their tour itself.

Yeah use the death of Mr. Mills to distract from the fact that the detective lied, and the only reason things went down this way is to delay and hope everyone ignores all the pathetic actions from the Police to the DAs office.

I have seen it again and again that the police will overcharge. It's not right but it goes on all the time. And this attorney spells it out. Scott has the funds to call their bluff. Most of us dont. Talk about crimes . . .

So in other words The Cop didn't like that some one didn't BOW to his AUTHORITY and decided to make stuff up ? False reporting of a crime ? Send him down the road and let another jurisdiction deal with the problem , right ? WHAS11 , nice to see a Louisville station not fearful of public comment . Keep the comments open for public interaction , it says a great deal about journalistic integrity .

I'm still trying to figure out why the DA showed up at the courthouse to protest the simple procedure of setting the first appearance date forward from mid April to June 3rd...what didn't he understand about the defense's request? Made an ass of himself in that meeting in front of the judge; and after more witnesses and film footage it was obvious that the hot-head cop made an ass of himself on that dark, rainy morning. Emotional stability matters in the police profession....that guy wouldn't last 10 secs in a military situation.

The cop revealed typical “power-trip” behavior as well as perjury in his testimony as an arresting officer. This could present as an indication of a systemic condition as to the temperament of the local police force. Therefore they were forced to drop the charges to save face.
