My other comment is why on earth would you leave $15K in your bank account or $12 K if you are overdrawn 3K? Just enough to pay your bills is all you need in any bank especially considering the fraud on-going.

So, it is USAA's fault. They got hacked which gave the hackers the information about you such as your rank etc. And afterwards USAA was not proactive in either detection or mitigation of damages this could or did cause. USAA should be held accountable as their lax behavior regarding highly confidential data was breached and they did nothing. And if they did not know they were breached then, they are responsible for not knowing. It's their job to know.

I was a Quartermaster Supply Sergeant for the Army for 9/13 years and 3 deployments. I myself have fallen for several smaller types of scams over the past 20 years, one of the very last ones was when I was an active Uber Driver in the Vancouver WA area and I got a call from a Uber Customer Service Scam Caller who handled the whole situation very professionally and he didn't warn me or threaten me at all and I did exactly what this veteran did, I ended up listening to the steps they wanted me to take and I really didn't think about what I was doing until it was to late and they were able to get into my Uber account and steal like $460 worth. Thank God my Mother gave me a great suggestion of filing a police report with the county police of where it occurred and then I had the police report number to give to the Uber Investigators who verified the police report with the county police and because of that Uber gave me a one time reimbursement fee of all my money I lost from that week. So, I gained experience and I got my stolen money back. About 4-5 months ago a USAA Scam caller tried doing the exact same thing to me stating they were from the Fraud Department and they noticed suspicious activity on my account of a $2K purchase, so then I logged into my USAA account with my laptop and I don't see any type of a suspicious charge or transaction so that was my first clue that this is a possible scam. Second clue was how I thought to myself in nearly 16 years of banking with USAA they have never once called me about a suspicious charge or activity on any of my accounts. I have received alert text messages to confirm my last three charges or received text or emails on possible suspicious activity or if USAA did attempt to call it was a robot automatic message informing me of possible suspicious activity and how they want me to call them directly as soon as possible, but a real person from USAA has never called me up out of the blue so that was my second clue of a possible scammer. Third and final clue was when they asked me for my Username to my USAA profile which is automatically a OPSEC (Operational Security) Red Flag because no bank or legitimate business would ask you for your Username or Password to verify your identity. So, right then I told the scammer I do not feel comfortable giving out that kind of secure information no matter who you are because bank representative would never ask me for that and how I think your a scammer and they tried telling me yes bank representatives do this kind of thing all the time and I was like not in my 16 years experience, they don't. So, I hung-up on them, waited several minutes, and then called my Bank USAA directly, went through all the screening and multiple layers of security process and talked to someone from the fraud department and they said "yeah, that wasn't use and we would never call you out of the blue like that, we would send you emails, texts alerts, or an automated pre-recorded robot message would contact you to have you contact us like a form of phone tag." So by being alert, thinking before acting, verifying multiple things, and asking myself questions and listening to my gut, I didn't fall for this USAA Bank Phishing Scam at all. I also right after this happened I updated my "Scammer Warning Signs Awareness" advice KZread video on my channel under my Full-Name with the same profile picture as this post. The old version I talked about 4-5 different types of scams and this updated version I talk about 14-15 different types of scams that are very active in the world right now and how to avoid them or if you fall for them what can you do about some of them to possibly get your money back, depending on the type of scam that occurred. So this USAA Bank Scam, is similar to the IRS Scam, someone from the IRS contacts you directly and tells you that you owe the IRS a bunch of money and threatens or warns you of what will happen if you don't pay up, but yet the IRS will never contact you except through normal snail mail and they will never threaten you to get any money that you may owe them because how would you pay them back ever if they have you arrested and thrown in jail. If you did owe the IRS they would want to work with you in order to get paid slowly down the line over time. They understand if something happens to you, then they won't ever get their money they are owed. So use human beings need to stop acting out of pure emotion and fear and learn to think before we act, but every situation scenario is unique and so we all will make mistakes at some point, especially with our finances. So, don't beat yourself up to much if you end up falling for a little something, except for Romance Scams that lasted several months to years and you never met the person in person and you kept giving them money for them to talk to you and say nice beautiful words to you and you gave away your life savings, your an absolute moron if you allowed it to continue after a short amount of time and nothing is actually happening in person between you two and my suggestion to those lonely souls are escorts, hookers, and Asian massage parlors are way cheaper to hit it and quit it to get what you need for one to a couple of hours and then move on.

USAA has has several issues with fraud like this. They indicted a handful of employees for comitting fraud. I pulled my money out years ago. It's not the same bank I joined 26 years ago. It's a typical bank run by greedy indifferent shit heads now

Person with computer background here. If your bank calls you tell them thank you and hang up. Then call your bank and ask them if they called you. I have been with the same bank for over 20 years and they have never called me. I also think with the spam emails your computer has been compromised. Get someone to check your computer for viruses and clean it up if any are found. Do not use your computer until you have done this. Banks don't call you and neither does the IRS.

I'm always telling my elderly mother this! Do not think that you have to speak to someone just because THEY call you. It is a rule that I have...I NEVER verify with anyone who calls me. I hang up, use MY number that I have and ask if they called me. Not sure when people are going to stop speaking to people who call them. Just hang up and call your bank. Sorry this happened to you.

Was there oil in the drain pan before you started or did it come out with the coolant? My 2019 Croastrek has black oil in the coolant resivior and the dealer won't check for any problems because it doesn't have any other symptoms. No burning, smells, leaks, smoke. I asked them to check pcv, cvt cooler, head gasket and upper oil pan o rings but they refuse. They just let it idle and checked for leaks and cleaned/replaced the coolant in the resivoir but didnt drain the block or radiator. I asked for a flush/drain and they said they cant recommend it because I only have 97k and it's not recommended until 120k. I don't really understand their refusal to investigate.

I don’t think you have any problem with your fans i had the same issue or what i I thought it was an issue it just takes a while take your car for spin. You will see them coming on and off and they don’t stay on for a long time if the coolant temperature are normal and idle. It took me a while to find out😂 i hope this helps you

ultra grey can work but the ultra black is more for oils. Permatex "The Right Stuff" 1 minute gasket maker is one of the better ones. still give a day or so before putting oil in .

I ran into the same problem with Permatex Ultra Grey. Now all I use is Hondabond HT. Hondabond is the best. A cheat code for that is put it on both sides. So if you're doing your oil pan, put it on the oil pan side and the engine block side. Pretty much the same rules for contact cement if you ever used it. Keep it up you're almost to the finish line! 🤙🏽
