I noticed the sharpness of the leading tone immediately in the 19-note etude. The major 3rds in 12edo aren't too bad but I notice their sharpness as well, especially comparing it back to 19edo. Since A# and Bb are equalized in 12edo, the A#/Bb major chord at 43:50 feels sharper, almost too sharp. I actually prefer the original A# major chord played in 19edo. The ending is still as powerful as ever, but I definitely prefer the original tuning, 19edo, over 12edo.

Extremely true. It's the "ukelele" which does it for me. I tend to turn my pc volume up to 125 with headphones on, and it makes me feel like I'm flying

My favourite Blackwood etude. It's a mystery how it sounds just like twelve-note Romanticism, yet there is a slightly different flavour from the 22 TET that I can't yet fully comprehend.
