Good job 👏 im going to fix that on my porsche macan s just please could you give me the part number for the bracket from Amazon please 🙏

I have a question regarding the consult button? Now, the consult button you purchase with the sport, sport plus, pasam, psm off, chase? Would that matter if i don't have psm, chase, pasam !
Hi. Thanks for your question. Technically, it doesn’t matter. If you only have Sport and Sport+ (and BTW, I think PSM is standard, so you would have that as well). What would happen is that the 3 first buttons of your keypad will work, with the last two doing nothing. The signal is sent by the order in the keypad, no matter what it says in the label. So I can technically use my new keypad with the 5 buttons, and assign only 4 functions. If that is the case, I would lose sport+ which is the second button, and that button would now be chassis, etc… with the last button on the keypad being nonfunctional. So, the buttons in the keypad are just buttons. The functionality of these buttons is stored in the module.
Thank you so much Santrix! Your videos are clear and your recommendations are concise. I am preparing to tackle my GearBox/Front Diff, transfer case and Rear diff as well as my upper control arms once the temperatures come down below triple digits LOL! You are The MAN!

Great video by the way and excellent diy. I will have to try this myself since mine cracked. Does anyone happen to know the part for the last hose and L shape head connector that connects to the three way valve? I agree it is better to use a new one then utilizing an old one. Thank you.
@@gohan51383 I haven’t been able to identify the part because this L-quick connect is part of a larger hose assembly. There are a bunch that look very similar in Amazon but I haven’t try them yet. Mine, which I took out of the old hose, is working well and holding. So I have no plans to change it, at least for now. BTW… thanks for your kind words.
@@porscheDIY I will see if I can find the part and share the part number if I can find it. Im going to have to try this DIY now since my hose is split open and all the coolant leaked out. I am guessing it put my macan in limp mode and therefore I am unable to drive it now.
@@gohan51383 you can install the hose into the vent valve using a clamp for now… or you can try the old L-quick connect. And then if you find the right L-quick connect, you can do that later. Please share what you find here. I examined the L-quick connect that I removed from the old hose and I’m reusing now, and all markings make reference to the plastic material and not a part number.

I’m not sure what you asked and the translator is not doing a good job. But if you are asking where I bought this, I got it in AliExpress. Unfortunately DaiNav doesn’t exist anymore but there are other sellers there selling these. @@keithm5379 good luck!
I'm doing this job this weekend. Did you have to get a wheel alignment? Also, will only the Porsche Dealership do wheel alignments on Porsche?
@@keithm5379 I didn’t get a wheel alignment immediately. Theoretically, you are not modifying any alignment parameters with this job, as you are not adjusting any of the alignment bolts/cams. Unless you remove those control arms. Alignment is a pretty standard process, and Porsche is not the exception. Is not like you have a race car. When you look at the Macan from the underside, is like looking at an Audi Q5, except the engine area. I have done coarse alignment of my car myself using a laser level, and I have been able to get it in the ballpark. You can have someone else align it, but I would use a reputable Indy shop to do it. You can always use the dealer if you like.
@@porscheDIY Thank you. Seems like the hardest part is wrestling with that big long bolt. By the way, Porsche dealership wanted $2100 to do the passenger rear wheel bearing and 4 wheel alignment. I like the idea of doing it myself because I get to keep the tools that I purchase for the job.
@@keithm5379 I go through the tools for the job in the front bearing replacement video. For the center bolt, I used a torque multiplier. It is pretty expensive, but worth every penny. I had been able to use the torque multiplier multiple times now for many jobs…. Makes taking high torque bolts off and on very easy. That hub bolt is one of them… but also the shock absorber bolt to bearing carrier is a high torque bolt as well.

Hey, Santirx (I don't know your actual name - sorry) - does your SIM card reader work? Mine does not and the guys I bought it from are saying that it should. Does your "zoning" work in the DSP settings? As for changing the radio station from the steering wheel - the guys I'm trying to talk to say it doesn't work. Well, it does work but not perfectly. It reads the current station and I can scroll through programmed stations even though I can't see what they are. I'm guessing that this should work properly, but we are conversing through a translation software and that makes it hard. "You can get now a SPDIF to MOST conversion box in AliExpress". Have you tried this yet?
Hi, very nice detailed informative video. I need to know is there a possibility that a boot sound, like any welcome sound or animation mp3 sound for the android stereo can be changed or installed when the stereo turns on/restarts?
I haven’t seen or didn’t find a way to do that. Thanks for your support!
great video. thank you for sharing. I understand the cayenne gts and macan share the same motor. The 3.6 TT. Do you have any idea if this fix would also work for a 17 cayenne gts?
I didn’t know the Cayenne GTS shared same engine as the Macan, but looking at it, they in fact look identical. When you search for coolant vent parts on your Cayenne (I just did), you’ll find that your engine uses exactly the same tubing PN 94610602660. So, I would think you’d have the same issues. Hey, thanks for letting us know!
I'm still fighting to get the DSP working properly. Have you ever had that issue? All of my speaker play at the same volume no matter how I set the bias. I was told by the factory that has to do with the CANBUS unit. The CANBUS screen says I have LuZheng, Porsche, Macan which seems correct. Any suggestions? BTW, I think this is the Fiber Optic Decoder Most that you replaced with one off Amazon - but I'm not really sure. I bought that but have not installed it because it lacks the fiber optic link to the radio control unit that the original has.
Do you have Bose or an aftermarket amp? The output levels and channel gains are set in the amplifier, and if you have Bose there is no access to it. I think you can have some control over subwoofer from the unit, but I think that’s it. The DSP in the unit allows you to tune the audio using a number of frequency ranges. It is more helpful than the PCM3.1 which only has treble and bass. I don’t think this is a function of the CANBUS. CANBUS is the interface with car functions. And you do have the right selection in the CANBUS. You can get now a SPDIF to MOST conversion box in AliExpress. I will post link later on. But I can tell you that the Amazon box, although it uses the analog input, it has more definition in its output.
@@porscheDIY Thanks. I've written to the seller for help. They are the ones who asked about CANBUS but might not have know if that was the correct issue to chase. I've also asked about 3 other things. #1 - The right screen of the instrument cluster shows the radio station playing. If I push the rotary knob, I go to the next screen that should list programmed channels. But programmed channels do not list (they should). I can scroll the knob in one direction to change channels down numerically, but not up. #2 is that zoning does not work. No matter where I set the bias (back right, left front) the music always sounds the same. #3 is that My SIM card does not read. I'll let you know if they have any helpful feedback.
This new radio unit is amazing. I installed a 10.4" unit 3 years ago and to get a much larger GPS screen. It was a big improvement over the car's original screen - but with some issues. THIS 12.3" unit improves radio reception, screen clarity, speed, volume adjustment between GPS voice and radio (you can make the GPS a bit louder than the radio), internet connectivity, etc. Very nice looking and very nice upgrade to my 2016 Macan.
Thanks for sharing your experience. It really changes and modernizes the cabin interior.
Thanks!
Thanks man! Much appreciated.
I just paid $985 for just the external filter and refill. The dealer wanted $1700 for internal filter, external filter and fluid
Wow! Thanks for the information.
I saw a Porsche forum and someone had the same issue with a non-functional touchscreen. At his suggestion, I unplugged the connection to the car, pugged the screen into the interface box, then plugged back into the Porsche connection. That worked and I have a touchscreen now.
Thanks for letting us know.
Well - following your video it only took me about 45 minutes to get everything connected. WOW. I have plugged the screen in and started my car. The screen lights up. I have AM radio with very good reception, the GPS is working and the native Nav shows where I am, and I can control volume from my steering wheel. So - I think is it connected properly. BUT - my touchscreen does not work so I can't do anything. Is there a switch to activate that or should that be automatically enabled (I'm assuming yes).
Thanks. I believe you solved your issue, right?
@@porscheDIY Somebody else wrote that he plugged the cable into the base unit and the screen and THEN started the car (added power). That worked.
Hi Santrix, I’m installing my unit, but I happen to have no sound. Do you have any ideas or suggestions for me? Is there an installation manual?
There is no installation manual. Did you follow my installation video? Did you have PCM3.1 with Bose? If so, did you wire the MOST25 converter appropriately?
@@porscheDIY I just managed to do that :) sound works great now. But still trying to figure out my rear view camera
@@astrokok Rear view camera is a yellow RCA connector that comes out of the quad hardness adapter, and it connects to another wire that goes to the rear of the unit. You’ll see that in my video. If the connection is OK, then a few things you need to check. You need to go to hidden menu in settings (the one that ask you for a passcode), the passcode is 3368, and change rear view camera parameters there. If you have a single rear view camera and the settings are for surround, you will have issues. The settings need to match what you have. If the settings are fine, you need to remember that when placing car in reverse, you need to take e-brake off in order for the camera to activate.
Hey Santirx.. ran into an issue on rear brakes were piston boot ripped. ive shopped around, ECS, Pelican and none sell just the seal/boot. Would you know were I could purchase and have shipped expedited to me?
What happened? Did you activated ebrake with the calipers off the rotors? That happened to me accidentally and ripped the boot and started leaking hydraulic fluid. Using your DIY videos, I plan to do a full transmission service (w/ both filters+gasket), transfer case, and rear diff service on my wife's GTS (it has 42K miles and none of that has been done yet). FCP lists some of the parts from your Macan as compatible with ours but not others and I want to find the equivalents. For BMW, we have sites like realoem to find part #s. Is it not easier to replace entire hub than do something as complicated as this?
Yes. You still need to mount the hub to the bearing though. But you save the hub removal from the old bearing.
Hi Santtirx.. i follow your head unit installs for advice ... thanks... but after reading all the negative reviews posted here about DAINAV which unit would you recommend now?

Just make sure they send you actual photos of the unit they will be sending you so that you are sure is the right one you want.

Hello gentlemen, please excuse me. I would like to ask a question after watching your interesting video .becausei have the same issue witth my macan S 2014... my question is... does this hose have a specific function behind the engine? or the gearbox back there conduct water??? It's strange to me why the hose has to go so long to the engine and back again... i wish you can explain to me ... thank you... 🙏🏼
This is a vent line. Its function is not to transport coolant to parts of the engine or transmission, but vent excess pressure/coolant back into the vent valve and coolant reservoir. I inspected this line with a borescope and it goes from the front of the engine to the rear… it makes a left turn, goes to the left side of the engine, makes another left turn and then connects into the vent valve. As far as a good explanation, I don’t have any. I have been driving my car for the past 1000 miles with no issues. Others that have done this have not had any issues either. If you are concerned, you can get a borescope (they are cheap in Amazon) and inspect the full line for yourself. The Macan Forum member that discovered this and develop this repair method had disassembled the engine parts necessary to get full access (including removal of intake plenum). When he was about to replace the tubing, he inspected the full line and realized that it made this strange loop without connecting to anything else.
See my post here so that you can see engine diagrams showing the full vent route (post # 257): www.macanforum.com/threads/coolant-hose-under-the-intake-diy-procedure-included.173262/page-13?post_id=2793349#post-2793349
Hello sir, I thank you very much for your courage in revealing this method which helped me personally... seriously, I did it myself and it worked.... after finishing the whole thing. I took the car to have the oil changed... and there I saw pink oil dripping between the gearbox and the engine... which seriously scared me, I don't know if it was the rest of the coolant in the recorder or the gearbox which is leaking between the gearbox and the engine... exactly like in the photo of the diagram on the forum where there is the red arrow below... thank you

A mi no me sale ese boot animation y cuando lo busco en el play store salen otras opciones. Alguna sugerencia?
I bought one of these with buttons (not installed yet). Now, I want to exchange to this updated version for better ventilation. I think you were certain that the update with no buttons was a better unit. A couple of questions: 1 - it seems the factory vents are left uncovered behind the radio. Did you cover them or fill them with foam? 2 - to save space, why not cut off the big unconnected audio plugs? 3 - There is a connector with an antenna. Did you use that or connect the Porsche antenna?
No need to fill with foam as air is completely redirected to new vents. You need to detach OEM ducts from main supply duct and secure them with a tie wrap. Then install the new ductwork in the supply duct. I didn’t want to cut any wires as it is my intention to take everything back to OEM stock if I ever sell the car or trade it. For the antenna, you need to use the wire adapter, from normal antenna connector to fakra. This is provided in the kit.
@@porscheDIY Thanks. But the wires I might cut are on the back of the new radio (not part of the Porsche wiring). It would make it much easier to stuff them behind the screen. If I ever sell my car, the poor new owner will just have to put up with the impressive upgrade :)
