I've just made my own kit. Piece of 2mm Ali cut to shape, solenoid off an auction site. Long plastic clip off auction site. Wire and sheathing. Wired up into the Adblue solenoid. £25 total cost

Good video. Does the fuel filler door lock / unlock with remote central locking? Might be an easier cable run?

The wiring for my 2017 Navara was different from yours , the black wire went onto the fawn/silver , the red wire went onto the light blue wire , not the blue and silver 👍🏻

Great video, thanks. I have a 2020 truck. The kit fits perfect, cable is long enough and factory gland is ok. The only change is the colour of the wiring. Still beige and blue but no silver flashes. Also, mine worked the wrong way around, unlocked on lock and locked on unlock. Swapped the spade connectors around at the tailgate end and worked perfect.

Mine is 2021 exactly the same trouble and I sorted in the same way...have you notice the car is been locking by itself?

Thank-you very much, it’s a great video and made life so much easier. The stuff supplied with the kit is shite, did what you said and bought 3m of flexi duct rather than the 6” they supply!!

Hi, no sorry not something that is popular in the UK due to the mild winters. Seen a few kits on ebay , you might be able to download the instructions for fitting.

Great Video, been meaning to do one, Took into consideration some off your ideas and added some more information to the instructions and foam to the back of the plate. Awesome video

Thanks for a great video. It gave me confidence to install the same kit on my new NP300. I made a slight modification to your method in that I followed the wiring harness of the truck along its nearside attaching the eagle harness to it. When I got under the front passenger seat I found that the main harness went into the car via a big rubber grommet. I poked a small hole in this grommet (later sealed) and fed the eagle harness through coming out beneath the carpet under the front pass seat. I then ran the remainder of the cable under the plastic sill trim and up to the point of connection. It all worked a treat and there was more than enough cable.I was pleased with this as I didn't fancy battling with the noise deadening material on the fie wall.Once again thanks for a great video.

Hey David. I have the same locking kit, yet still in the box. You think it's a wise idea to connect it straight to the central licking mechanism of the hardtop? The HT has it's own central locking yet it's still possible to open the tailgate by force, that's why I bought the locking kit.

Jakub RC yeah, should be fine. if your central locking HT is a two step opening process ( two clicks to open HT) it routes to the driver's side of RHD car. The fuse for the central locking is big enough to do tailgate and HT, I think it is something Nissan have thought through.

Hey again David, thanks for the reply! My HT has a single step opening process, it just opens when I press the button (door or the key). I did risk blowing the fuse but just tried it and it works great, except it's so loudly with out your foam solution... I did connect the actuator to the HT and I will give other NP300 users who are going to mount this kit on their trucks with HT a million dollar hint: The wires of the central locking from the HT are just behind the left tail light (LHD car). No need to feed the cable all the way to the front, safe from the moist as there is a big seal around it :)

The other thing I did was buy tailgate seals, I will be sleeping in the rear bed when I go climbing and didn't want water ingress to the sleeping area. The seals make a real difference to keeping water out of the rear bed.

I tried to seal the gate too, but I failed. I bought self adhesive "D" shaped seals, but the water still goes in. I have no ideas how to deal with the corners as the gaps there are enormous. Mind telling me did you used some kind of dedicated nissan seal or a DIY?

I have some pics on the instructions - I will see if I can get them over to you. I still have to fit them to the silver Truck, so I will also do a vid as well.
