Very clever! Just found these and added them to long cab rides playlist. I'd love to see the same treatment on NYC to DC video you did a few years ago. I also appreciated all the data on stations, other trains, etc. Nicely done!

Walter, Your split screen videos are the best. They make all of the other (ride alone) train videos seem like they are missing something. Good job Bud.

2:55 By by catenary. It's often been wished that the Pennsylvania RR between Harrisburg and Pittsburg would have been electrified for fast passenger service, but with low height catenary of the build period future double stack freight would have not been possible. It's strange Amtrak would use a Diesel locomotive between Philadelphia and Harrisburg when electric is viable. Washington DC is talking about making zero emission locomotives a requirement and NYC has for a very long time. My guess is that using the Diesel allows keeping the train consist the same without the need to do an engine swap at Harrisburg. The RR corridor between Philadelphia and Harrisburg has sections with no barrier fencing between the rail corridor and adjacent properties. That typically would indicate the rail corridor is only rated up to a maximum of 110 mph. There are no at--grade road crossings which are the most difficult to eliminate. I thought the railroad alignment was beautifully elegant holding a high speed consistent alignment through the very hilly terrain. It would be nice to include train speed. I've seen road racing video data capture systems used by amateurs (they don't make money at it) that include not just speed, but lots of other data on the video screen.

Great video, thanks for the complete ride! I always love the scenery past Elizabethtown- really shows how daunting the low hills were for engineers in the 1830s. Impressive cuts when realigned by the PRR too.

Mr Kebalo, thank you for sharing this outstanding video. It helped me recreate a trip that I took on the El Capitan/Super Chief in 1968. At that time, there were still numerous stretches of ATS in Kansas and New Mexico. Even though western Kansas was jointed rail in places, we still ran at 90 MPH. I have a question: at various places, depending on the speed, the rear truck of the private car seemed to "hunt" from side to side. You can see the oscillation in the video. Could you feel that, especially at high speed? Was the private car riding on 6-wheel trucks? My ride on #17 was in a Budd Pine-series 10-6 sleeping car. I wish I could ride in a Budd sleeping car again. Bill

1:04:46 I saw this in the video from 1985. I thought they were working on a realignment. But no, 30 years later it´s still there two tracks one way, one track the other. Does it have any sense (or did someone think it had any sense when they made it)? Or is it simply the case of not enough money for NEC modernization?
