Unfortunately solar edge is laying off 400 people and is in financial trouble due to over production and a major customer declared chapter 7 bankruptcy
Can I use IQ8 Microinverter to charge power banks like ecoflow delta pro?
For example, Solaredge may not even be around in a year from now, this is why ive been pounding the table for residential installs to utilize Enphase.
It became solely about PROFITS to them. They kept going bigger and bigger, and cutting back on quality and customer service.
I would argue it was solely about revenue, these companies wanted to grow as quickly as they could, not paying much mind to margin. You'd be surprised although they were growing very quickly, the profit margins were being ignored. When those revenue growth numbers started to recede, all these companies that were ignoring profit margins quickly realized they weren't making as much money as they should be. And the business model fell apart showing that their houses were built of straw.
Negative. It was about revenue growth. They were growing so fast, ignoring profit margins. So when that revenue growth withered away, they didn't have the sound business model that everyone assumed, and these businesses collapsed.
@@guidedbygreen1480 Lmfao. Only a naive mind thinks they "ignored profit margins." That's a way to look at it to not make people out to be the bad guy when in reality, it was all about profit. No business owner, share holder, or anyone with an iq above 100 would not think to look at the core of a business, which is profits. They pay people to do bad work so warranty claims were through the roof. Most solar equipment, if installed correctly is fine. Even cheaper chinese panels are fine. The BIGGEST ISSUE is bad labor which leads to increase in warranty claims and law suits when they don't have enough experienced techs/installers to solve issues. The claims kept piling on while never really being able to solve many of the cases since it requires a much more knowledgeable and skilled tech than what they had hired in most states. Instead of fixing a moutain of issues and paying skilled electricians, they decided to liquidate, take all the money, and run. Enjoy the rest of their lives with millions. Think a bit deeper, even if it means facing a hard reality that makes people out to be bad or evil because these people exist in our world that you and me live in.

This is why I've come to the conclusion that when I finally do solar, I'll be installing it myself and understanding the system from head to toe. I'm not going to rely on anybody else. Or, I just won't get solar.
people with solar installations are improving the reliability of the grid and take loads off of the current infrastructure. transformers dont need to supply power and people with solar, especially batteries tend to load shift away from peak demand.
Thanks guys, seems a much cleaner and quicker way to mount on a shingle roof.
Thanks for watching!
Check out our video on the new IronRidge HUG attachment for shingle roofs. This is proving to be a better installation method than the traditional flashing attachments -> kzread.info/dash/bejne/da6JrZl-cpS_gtY.html
If I have a system installed this year that has Qcell panels, Enphase micros, and Iron Ridge roof mounts, would I qualify?
No, likely not. At this time, there are very few manufacturers with qualifying hardware. We expect to start to see some towards the end of 2024 and early 2025.
I am in Australia and have a shingle roof. Funny you were saying it is more expensive to install solar on tile or other non-shingle roof types. Here(in Australia) I am finding it is more expensive to install on shingle roofs. Installers just dont have much experience as it is all tile or tin roofs and some even said it is too risky to do. Makes going solar a more difficult proposition, as will take much longer to payback and am also a bit worried they will cut corners or dont have enough experience to do it right. Pretty frustrating as a lot of the videos are from the US and are of installers quite easily installing on shingle roofs. Appreciate the video, and the clear explanation on how to install, as well as the warnings around replacing an older roof before installing solar( mine is 20 years so another cost to consider... sigh).
Check out our new video that highlights a new attachment method for shingle roofs. This is proving to be a better method than the traditional flashing method. Maybe this will be less intimidating for your installers.kzread.info/dash/bejne/da6JrZl-cpS_gtY.html Thanks for watching, and best of luck with your solar investment.
If Trump wins the election, would this 10% adder disappear?
It's difficult to make predictions on what will happen. Things can change regardless of who is in office. Trump is big on building American manufacturing. This credit seems to fit well with that.

How much should it cost to replace a bad solar inverter? I have a small 2800 watt system. Newer panels only 5 years old. Thank you for your time.
Is the inverter still under warranty? If so, you would likely only need to cover the labor costs to diagnose the issue, prove the warranty claim, and then install the new inverter. Our standard labor fee is $136 an hour.
You are over driving the inverters?
Just to clarify, the approximate 30k system you quoted isn't just the mount, right? That would include the panels, electronics, mount, etc? I wasn't sure the way you phrased it.
Yes, that would be the full package with installation. Check out our cost calculator to get a ballpark price based on your electric usage and location -> www.paradisesolarenergy.com/solar-power-savings-calculator
So most companies tell you they’ll last 25-30 years others from 10-20 years, it takes 8 years to payback and that’s after grants and outside maintenance costs so if they do only last 10 years then you’ll save nothing.
Most panels come with a 25-or 30-year performance and product warranty. If you're only getting 10 years from the panel, you likely have a warranty claim on your hands. Panels are pretty much a set-and-forget product. If you run into issues in the first 10-15 years, it will likely be with the solar inverter.
@@thesolarenergychannel 30 year performance warranty? I doubt that very much.
@@michaelwalsh9145 Most are at 25. However, Qcells, for example, has a 30-year performance warranty (at least 88.93% of nominal power at year 30) on one of their bifacial panels. Check it out here -> us.qcells.com/q-tron-xl-g2-bfg/

Solar Edge is getting better after 18 years, 😂. Not sure that makes a top 4 list.
With age comes wisdom.
I had enphase stocks, i profited from them. But as an electrical engineer i know DC straight to AC is NOT the future. The future is to keep DC. So MPPT's (DC/DC) straight to a DC Bus to your battery. That's why i see no future in micro inverters.
Dude, im on here wanting to see the process actually performed ... ofcourse you need to get ahold of a technician for removal and of course the panels and hardware will be removed and then replaced.. No shit sherlock
Can this system work in a State of Florida where we have Hurricane Requirements. Flat Roof of 1:12 pitch. Thanks
Yes, they are engineered to meet the wind requirements for where they are being installed.

I could not find a solar maintenance provider in my area. Are you in my area?
@@rowenadinsmore1 we service the following states: PA, DE, MD, VA, NY, OH, and NJ.
You left out a few things/features. Controllable export, like here in CA, I don't get the benefit of "Net" as we are on NEM3.0, so being able to set up as Zero Export is desirable to me to ensure my batteries are fully charge by the TOU 4pm - 10pm peak cost. Also, it wasn't discussed for your audience, but which will perform in a grid-down scenario and which don't. I think that's an important distinction. We use an EG4 15Kpv, and EG4 wasn't discussed, but ti is a CA certified hybrid inverter.
I've spent all day trying to learn all these details. As a Californian, you've got my attention. Does getting a battery backup system negate some of the concerns you bring up? We're looking at the Franklin WH for all the reasons you bring up.
@@rilijn Franklin is a good call, we have 60Kwh with no export, but that may be overkill for you. A 15Kwh to just try to cover the 4pm - 10pm Time Of Use rate hike is the most cost effective strategy.
I have two separate systems installed and warrantied by Titan solar including a main panel upgrade. Solar Edge monitors the system and is carrying the warranty for the inverters, however they don't cover the labor. The panels were white labeled and sold as Titan branded panels. I am at a loss here on what to do since I no longer have a labor and parts warranty for the racking systems, panels, or labor for these pieces and parts... Titan Solar was supposed to be legit, I had good luck with them in 2020 and decided to use them again last year for out expansion. I am hoping for a class action lawsuit to handle costs involved with the labor warranty loss.
If there is any good news to come out of this, your racking and the panels are the least likely components to have issues. The inverters are where issues typically occur.
Wow, nobody wearing hearing protection, especially around the presses.
Although ear protection may not be visible in the video, all press operators were wearing the proper PPE.
A couple of items. The term net metering refers to the metering that measures the amount of electricity going to or from an installation. Using this to refer to a method of billing (1 to 1 kwh) is at best confusing. It would be nice if everyone stopped using the term this way. You touched on the connection fee that Idaho is increasing. This is the part of the bill that will always be charged and does not go away when you produce more than you use. At least in my state. If this is the amount that covers being connected to the grid, there is no excuse for saying these changes are used for maintaining the grid (unless there is no such fee). More likely is the transmission losses when sending power over the grid need to be taken into account. People seem to forget (or not understand) that power is lost in may ways. Transmission lines are not 100% efficient and we should not expect a power company to ignore that fact and cover the cost of the loss for us when allowing a customer with solar panels to send them power and get some portion of it back in return. Related item often overlooked when talking about installing batteries to keep the power on site in order to avoid the difference in these new changes. Batteries are also not 100% efficient. Depending on your situation and the power company in your area, this may or may not be a better deal. The benefit of having some power when the grid goes down is a different reason to install them.
Appreciate your honesty that a recent ten year period reflected zero growth in electricity cost for many people.
Thanks for your feedback!

Are people still responsible for their loan if there solar company went bankrupt??
The likely answer is yes. However, it's hard to say for sure without knowing your loan details.
Titan Solar was legitimate and they still left us out to dry
90% of Solar companies go out of business. Solar for a future is a joke. Like you said this was a top company. So sad that the Gov. will push this for the future and will make you go broke.
Yes, it is truly unfortunate.
Although several recent "major" solar companies have failed, this does not mean all solar companies are bad. There are lots of solar companies that are well-run, financially stable, and doing things the right way to position themselves for long-term success. Companies fail in every industry.
The infrastructure argument is weak. Because the infrastructure is proportional to the producer. Relatively the solar producer a higher production cost and one customer. In Louisiana grandfathered accounts get $.12-.13 New accounts get$.19 expletive ridiculous. furthermore solar accounts are paying the base rate as any customer and very few have a zero bill. So actually they are paying for their own infrastructure and contributing to the utility company infrastructure as well
Utilities should only pay the avoided cost at the time of use... All solar should have 2 meters with ratchets and both should be TOU meters... Pay both ways at the current rate at time of use...

Battery options? Really high voltage only? Also has monitor or software updated or improved yet?
Tigo's inverter can be coupled with Tigo's EI battery, which runs at 400V DC. Unfortunately, Tigo has not made significant improvements to its monitoring platform yet, and we are not currently using the inverter. We do expect them to improve their monitoring platform at some point.
Please help explain this to me. In the billing period of 5/15-6/16, my solar produced 939.4 kwh. On my Xcel utility bill, it says total delivered by Xcel: 736 kwh, total delivered by customer: 390 kwh, total net delivered by Xcel: 346 kwh. If my solar app is telling me I produced 939.4 kwh, shouldn't I have a credit for this month, instead of being charged $60+? I have a tiny 1 story home with 14 solar panels.
Solar energy is a clean and renewable resource, so using a solar inverter helps to reduce your carbon footprint.
An inverter is a necessary component for solar production.
What horses asses. Useless video
Well HELLO Larry!
Thanks for watching!
Your photo doesn't show "hardware to directly mount the panels to the seam", instead it shows hardware to mount the racking to the seams, and the panels to the racking. Other hardware does exist to mount panels directly to standing seams.
Your solar calculator requires everyone to reveal their contact information and you probably should have mentioned that in the video. On the other hand, you didn’t say it was free either.
Yes, we do request your name and email before your results are delivered.
Be very afraid, it will be a nightmare once you sign that contract and I can provide proof.
Hello, we are sorry that your installer, Titan Solar, went out of business, as you stated in other comments. This is incredibly frustrating for many people. Instances like this understandably put a black eye on the entire industry and create a ton of frustration/hurt for their customers. We can assure you that not all installation companies are created equal. Many local installation companies genuinely care for their customers and do things the right way.
From a current customer, the inverters are garbage. I have had mine replaced 3 times in two years. Once you sign that contract you're screwed, this is all lip service to pull you in.
To clarify, you're a Titan Solar customer, NOT Paradise Energy. Paradise Energy, who runs this channel, is a local, family-owned company structured very differently from national brands like Titan. If there is one component of a solar system that will give you issues, it's the inverters. What brand do you have? They should be under warranty.
Don't be fooled people, I got solar 2yrs ago and my installer, Titan solar closed for good on June 14 2024 now I'm left with no support which was supposed to be for 25 years according to the contract. I can guarantee they will open up under a new name in a few months to scam more customers.
Sorry to hear about the issues with Titan Solar. This is incredibly frustrating for many people. What brand panels and inverters do you have? All those warranties would be issued by the manufacturers and should still remain in place. There are also many local installation companies that would be willing to provide support if needed.
If I use another service company I have to pay out of pocket, my contract covers service. There's the problem for all the customers that Titan solar has screwed over. #shadybusiness
