I daily drive a 1995 explorer, my wife doesnt even like to be seen in the thing hardly cause its so old so she drives the newer 4runner and the explorer is like my man cave in wheels. I dont know theres just somthing about it that i like and the paint is still really good for its age. Could be the fact that im not to concerned if i do happen to scratch it or get into a crash that its not 100,000 like the new vehicles out there. Plus i can fix the old stuff myself alot of the time.

Yup. Easier to fix, simpler, and much less stressful to maintain than an expensive new car. They also just feel good to drive. Always glad to hear from people keeping older rigs on the road, best of luck keeping it going!

Thanks! Adrenalins are wicked cool, I thought they only came with V6s from the factory though. . .I know the concept had a supercharged 4-valve modular V8, you could probably swap one in using mounts from a V8 Explorer. I could also be wrong, info on the Adrenalins is pretty sparse.

Glad you like it, I should have the belated third part out soon (it's just the e-brake setup). I've had the car out more lately since the weather has warmed up, and the brakes still feel great. Best of luck if you do the conversion! Didn't even know about TBM, just googled them and their setup is crazy. . .

Oh, don't tell me you've got one with a busted front end too. . . I lucked out and found a full set for the right side on eBay about a month after the crash. Tried to find parts from junkyards but most of the Cougars listed were crushed already and the listings just hadn't been updated. There are a few around though if you're looking for parts.

I grabbed what I could, but I'm pretty sure the car sat in someone's yard and sank into the dirt before being scrapped. . .lots of crusty brittle connectors. I've done some wiring before though, I'll play it by ear as I do the swap😉

Nope, it's Detroit! Lots of people here like to cruise and enjoy their cars with family and friends, so sedans and wagons make sense. They're also less price-inflated than two-doors, but they still look great lowered and make all the right V8 sounds.

I don't know if you are going to get this but I bought a car just like yours off a old man and his son. It is rust free and has 50K on the clock. Looks like brand new and hasn't been registered since 1995 and sat in a climate controlled garage until I got it a month ago. They tried to get it running and they put a new fuel tank, sending unit, fuel pump, sending unit, fuel lines and 8 new Injectors but it won't run unless you tap on the injectors and the minute you get it running and try and move it it will quit. Tried a new PCM to no avail. I don't know what I will try next. I have a new set of injectors to try and if they don't work I might tear the fuel injection off but I hate to do that but I will try a couple of more things. Idle position sensor is new and the EGR valve was cleaned out.

I haven't dug into my injection system yet so I don't have a good answer for you, but I wonder if faulty/loose wiring might cause the injectors to cut out like that? If I were you'd I'd try to keep the fuel injection instead of carbing it. You could try to get a copy of the Ford injection systems manual for your year since it's a separate (and more detailed) book than the standard shop manual. Should be titled "Ford Fuel Injection and Electronic Engine Control". Congrats on the car, sounds super clean!
