@@hamishbf8352 Hi Hamish, I'm not familiar with the Profish brand so I can't offer any opinions on the boat itself. Generally speaking though, a 5.5m plate boat is fine for offshore. I still have to pick my days in a 6m boat and a 5.5 wouldn't be much different. Before buying my boat I joined a few Facebook pages for specific boat brand owners. It gave me good insight into the common faults or positives for each boat brand. We don't generally fish far off Brisbane. Most of our fishing is between 30m and 90m deep. What tide do you prefer up there mate ? the bloody FRESH this year has been a problem moving the fish down further, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK Cheers Chris
@adamneeson2 ай бұрын
Thanks Chris! Whiting was my first fishing passion and they will always be my favourite. I prefer the last three hours of the incoming tide and the first two hours of the runout. My favourite period is the last 2 to 1.5 hours of the incoming tide. Worms worked best that trip, they normally do. Occasionally the yabbies come out on top so I always like to have some onboard. If you're local to the gold coast Broadwater you're very lucky. The fish down there seem to grow much bigger. My theory is that the food down there is more abundant. It can't rain forever so the fresh will clear up eventually! I'll try and do a few more whiting vids, they seem pretty popular and I enjoy fishing for them.

Hi Chris, my whiting reels are an Alvey 625B. It's the smallest capacity Alvey reel in the 6inch range. I prefer this because it's hard to fill an Alvey with 3kg/6lb line. They are a graphite backplate with plastic spool so they are nice and light. I'm not familiar with all the part numbers but the first number 6 denotes the spool diameter (6inch), the second numbers 25 denote the spool width (25mm I think), the letter B refers to the style of drag (in this case there is none) From memory an A5 model has a stainless steel back and no drag.

Once you get home, just use your fingers and push the top bone out through the skin, pull apart the flap holding the head in and just nicely pull the head out towards the apex of the cuttle. Spin it around and pull the skin off and done. I just throw the wings away as they are tiny, ironic to my comment above about wastage lol.
@@smithys3512-lg5yx Cheers Smithy, I'll give that way a go next time. I've ordered a scaler bag to try out too, anything that reduces the ink is a win 🤣
Nice one Neeso
Cheers Macca!
MATE good fun but that bloody ink, good video mate keep them coming . Cheers Chris
Thanks Chris! The ink is part of the cuttlefish thrill 🤣
Good one mate, is there any difference in cuttlefish and squid?
Thanks! I find the cuttlefish much easier to cook without ruining it. I've never quite mastered cooking squid, but they've only been arrow squid. I'm yet to catch a tiger squid to be able to compare primo squid with cuttlefish. We have cooked cuttlefish a few different ways now and it's always come out tender and tasty.
We just call them poor man's squid in WA but honestly, not a huge difference.
HI Adam, love the video there are some nice whiting there mate, did you find they were better on the the blood worms or the yabbies that night ? love your CHASING WHITING vids, Down the Pin i have never chassed whiting at night bream for sure but whiting ,i usually fish a bit further down south of the Broadwater around Surfers. What tide do you prefer up there mate ? the bloody FRESH this year has been a problem moving the fish down further, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK Cheers Chris
Blood worms.. are the go.. old man recons 3 to 1 catch rate more then ya yabbies
I agree with your old man, they are my favourite whiting bait. I only wish they were easier to dig!
Well done Add man. Good job guys. Nice to watch a refreshing video like that. 👍🍻😁
Cheers Stephen!
@@adamneeson thanks man nice to see you young fellows doing what we did 30/ 40 years ago keep up the good work mate on the Bay. ✌️👍🍻😁
Great stuff -thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the compliment!
Thank you for sharing. You have bought back memories of digging blood worms in Boggy Creek , you really earnt every worm but if you couldn't get blood worms there was no point in going fishing for whiting. Only my opinion, but the blood worms would out fish every other bait by miles. You got some very nice whiting congratulations.
Thanks Glenn! I agree with you. The blood worms out fish every other bait, including cribb island worms. Digging them is worth the effort but it takes some commitment.
That was a fantastic session Adam ;) totally enjoyed this video! Thanks for sharing mate
@@mylurebox Thanks for the nice compliment! I'm stoked you enjoyed it 😁
Good one mate 👍👍👍👍👍 I remember going digging bloodworms when I was much younger and it looked as fun as I remember
Thanks Cam! Yep, digging worms is almost a sport in itself 🤣 I enjoy the process but it take a toll on the body.
get back to work
I'll bet you're watching KZread in the truck 🤣
Hi Adam. Good sesh mate. My recommendation would be to go hit up the council chambers in the nerang for your whiting. Fished a lot but there's a reason for that, the whiting are there. Instead of putting your rod in the gunnel rod holder, try leaning it on the transom to hold a lower angle. Most of the time the hooks down the whithing's gullet so just flick em in unless its a stonker.
Thanks Smithy! I used to fish the Nerang quite a bit, it holds some good fish. This trip was also an RBAFC club trip and our fishing boundaries are north of the seaway. I'll make an effort to try the Nerang again though 👍
@@adamneeson Goodluck mate, keep up the content.
@@smithys3512-lg5yx Cheers Smithy!
Dolphin is probably taking care of your small ones for you ;) they follow our boat and steal our fish in Nauru too!
I reckon you're right Adam! I love them but they're pretty cheeky!
@@adamneeson us Adam’s are usually right…except for when we’re not ;) The Nauruan Fishermen really hate the dolphins, they take money out of their pockets and fish off their table :(
@@adammcgeorge3538 Except when we're not 🤣🤣🤣
what sort of boat is this
Hi Zach, it's a Barcrusher 615c (2019 model)
Good one mate 👍👍👍👍 looks like fun, I’ve never done that but not much point in this house I can’t eat them and no one else likes them hahahaahha
It's great fun but hard on the body. You don't know how many friends you have until you post a bucket of prawns online 🤣
nice Adam, what type of net is that? what brand mate.
Thanks! The net is a 'Pro throw' 12ft, Top Pocket only with chain. I bought the 20 metre rope too, I found the standard one too short. Anaconda sell them.
Hi Adam, what rods are they you are using ?
G'day Max, they're a Snyderglass Crusoe Island CR4126 in low mount. There's a list of the other gear in the video description too.
I love wheat juice! 😂
I'm trying to make the videos kid friendly but it's important to stay hydrated 😁
Hahahahha you should ask Chris about burning dinner. Inparticular roast spuds.
I'm catching up with him next weekend, I'll bring the subject up 😜
Love the way you have set up the boat. What make is it?
Thanks Warren. It's a Bar crusher 615c.
Nice. Thanks.@@adamneeson
Awesome trip bit of everything 👍👍👍👍👍👍 enjoyed that one
Thanks Cam, I'm keen to do something similar again soon but hopefully with less rain 🤣
@@adamneeson hahaha look forward to it
Awesome Adam, nothing better than trying to sleep with earplugs as the water slaps the hull right beside your head!😜
Some people find that soothing 🤣 Honestly though, it's pretty good inbetween the islands. I've lined the cabin with foam and that's made a huge difference to the lapping sound. All I could hear was the fan running 👌
You beauty!
Thanks!
HI Adam , the Alvey reels you are using are they the 6' A5. is the a5, stand for shallow spool.?? Cheers Chris
What a RUN!!!
The sound of a screaming drag will never get old! We were quite worried it was going to spool us for a while there 🤣 The drag was set to 8kg using scales, a solid effort on the Marlins part.
@@adamneeson what pound line/leader were you using?
@@teamyak-attack1060 50lb braid with 50 meters of 50lb mono top shot to 120lb wind on leader.
That was really cool 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you! Other than the fishing that hike was my favourite experience of the trip.
This was the bit of your trip I was most jealous of ❤️
We can go back together!

Nice!
Thank you!
Shoulda donged it mate. Great chewing at that size and it’s not like they’re rare.
Cheers Macca! I'm keen to keep one for the table but I'm very selective.
