This license buying stuff is honestly gigantic BS - I even have to spell it caps because its so dumb. When selling me a monitor, just tell me what it costs and let it be. Charging 4 pennies for every step of a setting each is just so incredibly annoying even if you can easily afford it.

I like the Rode Video Mic Pro+ because it has the option for a Safety Track. This protects your sound from clipping if the car is louder than you expected. Another trick, if your mic doesn’t have safety track option, I lower the right channel’s gain in camera about 10db less than the left channel. Until cameras get 32-bit float internal recording, that’s my best tip for you :)

Agreed, I have the Kick and the Atom. The Kick is a workhorse and they keep updating it which is nice. It also beats out the Arri LMB IMO for its wider field of view and rapid 2-3 stage conversion. The One Tray can only take up to a +2 diopter which makes it a fail. Someone correct me if I’m wrong but Arri has a rear mounting diopter tray adapter that can adapt and can sport a 3+ diopter without eating up 2 trays. I ended up putting a Schneider 138mm circular polarizer in a Revar Cine Pola tray.

Due to how changing framerates on the go is a big hassle on the camera, it's one of the reasons why I've stayed away from Z Cam currently. Changing framerates with a button like on the Blackmagic cameras is a much needed feature, at least for me.

@@joenicklo you have to understand that most of the people watching your KZread channel, aren't business owners. But struggling cinematographers who are just trying to put together a business. They certainly don't have enough money, when they're starting out, to put $500 batteries on $2,000 lights. Maybe a video slanted more toward these people... would be more constructive. 😎

3 years later we confirm that the Z Cam E2-S6 is useless! especially with so many new cameras coming out this year. you pay thousands of dollars and you can't see what you shoot because it doesn't come with a monitor! well thought guys!

  • @joenicklo

You need a monitor with an ARRI, RED or Sony Venice. Just food for thought. The Zcam also has the F6 Pro model out which has a monitor. Most cinema cameras don’t have built in monitors.
