This movie scared the crap out of me when I was younger
I actually like this Poverty Row Jungle Horror pic. because of its use of authentic Malaysian location and Asian extras improves it. I believe that the obscure "Mae Stuart" is really Rita La Roy in a blonde wig. Ina May Stuart was La Roy's birth name. A secondary Vixen player, La Roy on a "grey list" with the major studios for walking out on Call Her Savage (32) and perhaps took the project for the Money. I am positive it is La Roy from the voice and profile. Harry Garson is another dubious director figure who got himself ostracized with the Majors.. Universal sent Garson to Borneo in 1929 to start filming a jungle adventure film with starlet Dorothy Janis. According to Janis, Garson went way over budget and the studio shut down the production and fired him. The salvaged location footage ended up in the more famous cult adventure, East of Borneo (1931). I guess more out-take footage was used for this resulting indie production that was probably completed, not in Hollywood, but the Biograph studios in Astoria, New York. Independent producers still used Old New York studios for B - production.
what passes for witty repartee, american style....gene tierney should never have been a movie star, she has an odd face....tyrone power was a great great actor, wasted in this picture.....somerset maugham the ultimate cynic, with all of Charles Dicken's darkness but none of his light.
Part 3:🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣!!!!!! ❤it. Especially that lalala sound.
Ann is pretty 😍 she's tested for melani of gwtw.
What year movie? 1941?42?

Just like the film ‘Gaslight’, with Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer.
Glen Ford is too much eye candy American
Horrible image quality, basically unwatchable....why bother?

I remember seeing this on TV for the 1st time when I was a kid. My cousin who was a week apart from me in age & more like a sister actually, was spending the night & my older sister was babysitting us. It must've been obvious that this movie scared us bc my sister scared the crap out of us recreating the ending for us giant butcher knife & all. My cousin & I will be 6-Oh this August & she still brings that night up when we get together.😂 Good times Good times.🤗

Well you have added the title but you,ve still cut out the opening credits.

Very bad print
What a great film!❤ Surprised me, this is inspiring and relevant, too. Plus the Actors of long ago really had the chops. Americana. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the movie but don't like the current trend of not showing the opening or closing credits. It is part of the movie and I like to see the cast and crew , I know I can google etc but it all feels a bit wrong to not have the original titles.
el tercer episodio nos dió mucho miedo en mi época 😨

My children use to watch Billy and Mandy, but they are now grown and on their own. I miss my kids. They made like worth living!
❤
Loved it❤
What a charming film
this was a pretty good flick. the sound editing was horrible. Jack Palance was as off balance as ever. Ida Lupino was superb. Shelly Winters the same type cast. for the storyline alone and not the acting in total I give it a 7/10. would be nice to have a remake with a cast of complete fine actors.
