I did that trail around 2001 in a chevy trailblazer. I still think of that trail, very cool. Seemed remote, one stretch in deep woods passes small pond and a momma and baby moose were standing in the water and a beaver was swimming there too. I was by myself and got a little lost/mixed up along the way too.

We drove that trail in July on 19 in my Honda Pineer 1000-5. Beautiful scenery. The avalanches really took out a lot of trees.

WTF MAN! I watched to see the tunnel and you ended without showing the tunnel. Next time don’t list something in the title that you don’t show.

I went through there in 1988, the last week of June. It was lightly raining down low and snowing up top. I enjoyed this and hoping I can spend a couple weeks rambling around out there next yr.

Awesome, I love watching videos of the alpine loop. I've got long family history in Silverton, in fact some still live there. I love it there and can't wait to get back out there and ride.

I love that turn at 12:29 coming or going. We were there in 2019 but snow melt kept us from making Stoney. I have a video of Pole Creek with the jeep in the Water , Lady Passed away. Wasnt able to make it this year, but a definite for 22. I just bought a Wolverine X2 R Spec 850. 1st sxs. How did yours do on any of the trails? Would love to know. Love watching San Juan Mountains. Its people like you that video for those of us that cant make it. "Thanx Fer Sharin"

First, I am sorry to hear about your loss. I am glad you enjoyed the video. We had a 2016 Yamaha Wolverine R-Spec when we were in Silverton in 2019 and had no problems on any of the trails. Yours will do well as you have the 850 with more power and torque as ours was the 700 model. We have found that August is the best month to go as most people have finished their vacations and the kids are back in school so the trails are less crowded. Be safe out on the trail and enjoy.😎

I would think you could drive from Silverton to the top of Stony Pass in less than an hour. When we got to the top there were several street vehicles there. Thank you for the question.

Thank you. We have a trip planned there in august but the city trustees have voted to ban OHV's from driving on the city streets. Will now have to trailer your ride out of the city limits if you are staying in town. I am hoping they will make a change to the law so we can at least drive from the RV park in town and out to the trails. Only time will tell if any changes are made.

@@steveburns6628 FYI - Silverton council has put OHV ban off until fall when they will put it up for vote to town. So OHV on designated routes until September at least.

Wow it is. That is some deep snow and it will not melt this year. I understand they just got the trails open the first week of July. Our hats are off to all of the workers that worked very hard to get the trails open with all of the record heavy snow fall this year.
