Something that's not seen in the subsequent Diablo games are unique items with substantial penalties paired alongside the overpowered attributes. If i recall there were a few like "-200 mana" or the Constricting Ring which constantly sapped HP in exchange for like +100% resist all. Many items were done this way, but I can't think of any in the sequels. Aside from minor ass things like changes to Light radius or the -30% fire resist on Andariels Visage. I wonder why blizzard decided to abandon that penalty item concept so early on.

After complete first game you must create game in multiplayer on battlenet and choose difficulty (Nightcore/hell). Then exit to menu and select single player. Game runs in that difficulty on single player gives more exp from mobs.

If u enter in game in local conection with ur multiplyer char, than log out and enter in single player with onether one u can play single player in hell level and lvl up very fast. But to do that u need a multiplayer char able to kill Diablo in a nightmare game.

Using the Gloom plate {VERY HARD to get}, doom bringer sword, and gotterdammerung I could get my light radius to 0. In this game, enemies see you by YOUR light radius. They have no coded vision radius of their own really. If you get your light radius to nothing, and then use a scroll of infravision to see in the dark, the enemies just let you kill them more or less.

I love how even when your maxed out and considered a god you are still very easily killable, sure your survivability goes up but not by much, Then in diablo 2 it got a hell of a lot easier to survive even in hell, get proper rune worded items and your skills will do the rest (still a fantastic game, my favorite). And diablo 3 (if you can even call it diablo) it's so easy to survive even in the high torment levels. Once your paragon points get to 1000 and higher getting killed is almost impossible. also the epic gear drop rates are just disgusting (oh you want everything without needing to work really hard for it? no problem here you go) (What's that, spending a really long time grinding to level up not doing it for you? I got you fam), (What, the realistic weaponry and armor designs based on historical weapons and armor too boring looking for you and not colorful enough or fantasy enough for you? don't even worry about), (what, the dark music and atmosphere of the prior diablo games are not making you happy? no problem we'll fix that right away), (What, you want your mercenary companion to have a constant conversations about the same shit over and over and over again with you? well alright). (What, you want a game that has a level 70 cap that makes no sense and ultimately becomes pointless? that's a 10-4 ol'buddy), (What, you want a game where it's no longer about the skills of the character or their stats but one based on what they wear and nothing else and we give you all the stats for you automatically for each level up so you don't have to think about actually building and customizing your character whatsoever? You got it), (What, you want a game concept where we will make "Seasons" where players can do the same thing over and over and over and over again to get the same ridiculous weapons and armor but named differently with different stats? OK), (What, you want us to make up demons that have a shit back story just so that we can bring diablo back only with sexy female hips and swagger as he walks, ultimately making him feel, sound, and act less intimidating like his prior forms? (What, you want us to make an auction house where we give you the option of working even less on the game and allow you to buy everything you ever want making the point of diablo gear hunting pointless?
