  "Skating is my life but it's not the only thing IN my life. Just life itself can get hectic and it helps to be able to have a creative outlet and for me, that's Skateboarding. Just hopping on your board and cruising down the street and doing whatever you want, no one telling you what to do or when to do it." I'm 36, Globe's Opinion was my first skate VHS and I was most likely learning backside flips and nose grinds at the time. I peaked around age 25 and was doing switch 360 flips down stair sets, and for a short time I was sponsored, but life, love, career, etc took over. I still skate with my homies a few times a year when we meet, and I can safely say that "I'll skate 'til I can't walk." Once a skater, always a skater. They can never take that from us.

  I'm a grown man now, but when these episodes were still being released and I saw Rodney come on screen with that high mileage Uberlight, I knew magic was going to happen. Around the time he was fixing a hip injury and erasing his original stance. I still have one of the early Almost Uberlights with tensor mag trucks, I preferred the flatground/freestyle mashup magic Rodney's footage always has and it pushed me to be more creative in my style. The Globe Fusion was the most indestructible skate shoe I recall having back from 2009 until like 2011 (3 solid years and I changed skateboards once which was more than the shoe for once), some time after the Gears of War fusion dropped and there were Gears Globe Fusions showing up at the main park we all skated at and I was curious about the sick ass red and black shoes a buddy was running. This is to Almost, Globe, Tensors, everyone that made the skating scene for the past 50+ years, and most of all Rodney, I can't thank you guys enough for what you've done. When you think you've done nothing or that your contribution was a small one, know that it had an immense butterfly effect to strangers you've never met somewhere else in the world. Freedom Always. Skate Or Die.

  I had two pairs of his pro model shoe, including the limited edition all black leather ones. This dude is one of my favorite goofy skaters of all time, endless style. And that switch flip at 3:02 or so, idk how he did it but I love the sound every impact of the board makes. I always have.
