It's funny u got your gaming PC about the time I revived my old FS2002, COF, and programming PC. On it I made a real simple wireframe flightsim, the whole project was so I could learn how flight sims in the early years projected scenery data on a 2d screen. The hard part was learning about clipping, because the program knows it can display scenery beyond the bounds of your monitor screen, it has to be told "No Way Jose" otherwise the program would crawl in frame rates. I was able to make a DOS sim that could clock around 25 fps, which was pretty good, however it was wire-frame so nobody other than a junkie like myself would look at it. I wrote it in GFA Basic for the Atari ST--a wonderful language like Python today, but I ported it to C so I could get it to work under DOS. Now that I have MSFS back, I have flown all day, 30 minute hops with my favorite copters and old aircraft, like the Cessna 170, there is still so much to explore for an Xbox fan. And I found dirt track racing for the Xbox, in the 60's my folks took me to Midget Car racing. Like Formula One, I love it--it is intense and I once raced in an indoor go cart track on a work "team outing" my boss sent us IT flunkies out on. It was intense, the little go karts with our helmets pulled amazing G forces on our indoor track. I came in eighth out of seventeen of us but some of my colleagues were gnarly, they'd intentionally bump me. I am so glad it was not an air racing team building session, lol

I love the Growler. I was absent using the sim for several weeks--my debit account I used up, so I had to wait until Tue 10PM Phoenix for it to renew, since that is when SSDI is deposited, at 1AM DC time. I thus upgraded to Premium Deluxe, so the issue does not crop up again. Not sure what add-ons I might get, not having seen Xbox marketplace in some time. Your PC vids satisfied my appetite and as I mentioned, so did Century of Flight on my 24 yo PC which I mainly wrote business and Art programs on. I still have business software I wrote between 2005-2007 when I was Best Western''s QA and automated performance testing lead. I traveled for them between '97-00, traveling for four hotel companies between '90 and '2000. I still wish I could do that but travel to that extent takes its toll.

as someone with an interest in sound engineering, i'd want to know what speakers / headphones you're listening through and the specifics of the room you are listening in. there are lots of psychoacoustic possibilities in your environment that could be contributing to you negative experience. In my environment, the sounds are average-ish . Your audio mix tends to boost frequencies that are usually cut, which suggests that your listening environment could be contributing.

I got MSFS because of game pass on PC originally but used my series x to play other games initially, but didn't mind msfs on console, I wouldn't pay for it even on PC. Obviously there's going to be a night and day difference in terms of performance & fidelity, but other than that? The same problems that msfs has on console are grandfathered by the PC systems. It's not all sunshine and rainbows on PC but problems are less. The real future, is how will msfs 2024 be on both PC and console. If it's good on console? Then I'll regret selling my series x LMAO
