What time do they open and are they open on Sunday?
Still very confused how Bottledrop are able to pick out the refillables when I recycle them along w/ the rest in a bag, or have someone count them.
Visiting Oregon and this place is retarded. All your cross dressing crowd, homeless, drug addicts and then this bottle deposit which probably wastes more energy. Only in retarded Oregon.
Too bad the Bottle Drop Centers are so disgustingly filthy with rude and unhelpful people running them. Not to mention going from 5 cents a can to 10 cents a can just incentives more homeless to come to Oregon. The streets are literally paved with money here. The Oregon Bottle bill is outdated and was put in place before we had curbside recycling. There is no point to it anymore. It also doesn't help the environment when you people are driving around when they could just put it curbside. Not to mention all the added sorting and trucking. I'm willing to give anyone a $100 bill to prove that this whole thing isn't creating more CO2 than it saves. It's a boondoggle!
Oregonians DON'T WANT THIS!
No dislike button= CENSORSHIP.
I like in these pictures they don't show the rats running around. The Oregon bottle bill is the worst thing that ever happened to the state of Oregon.. It has draws people from every corner of this country here. and they live on the streets and and pick up cans to survive. and the mess the trash in the graffiti these people leave behind is incredible.. Oregon bottle bills needs to be suspended until we get a handle on the homeless problem
This was really useful. I followed the steps described here and now I am dropping my bottles.
I dunno whats express about it. They are located too far away to be of any real use. How about forcing stores that sell the beverages to take bottles and cans again, instead of using covid as an excuse not to deal with them...
“Benefits”; 1. Wait up to five days to receive the money that used to be instantly yours 2. Before you can even deposit your bottles/cans you have to purchase one of their special designated green bags. Everything gets worse and worse in Western Civilization. Unbelievable how monumental our decline is on so many levels, social and otherwise. This is not an easier system. But it is a good way to make it even more difficult for homeless people to simply return their cans. As if homeless ppl didn’t have enough problems already. In fact, “they” probably did this deliberately to create a barrier to homeless struggling people on the streets.
They are doing this pn purpose. Most likely using the refund money they have avoided paying during this covid nonsense as a slush fund for government elites..
That's the whole point tbhz to make homeless people suffer and fuck all the rest of us in the process. The system is working as intended. Fuck the world.
@@nunyabizness199 Almost 8 billion dollars in 2021 alone.
Thanks
Only if it was this easy in Portland. I have walk through all the homeless and drug addled people who are lined up.
I’m all for recycling. But the extra ten cents you take from me when I buy does not give me any incentive to recycle... just a made up fee. Ten cents does not motivate me to hold on to a can in good condition, take it to the drop to wait in line next to the dumpster, get a coupon, then hold on to it until I’m ready to be reimbursed one dime when I finally buy food. Nah, I’m gonna consider the extra ten cents I pay upfront as my own personal pass to throw the bottle in the garbage and not worry.
Seriously? I just paid I dont know, $5 or $10 for 10 green bags and keep them on my porch, I just put the bottles in the bag and fuhgeddaboutit.. It took me a year but I filled my first 10 bags before I went to cash in because I was so intimidated by the outside line, stretching all the way to Walmart. Then one day I just drove straight in and asked one of the security guards how this works, He showed me the kiosk where I was able to get an ID card (keychain card also) and thats where I also asked for "Stickers" they have a QR code that have my Bottle drop info associated.... Next, all I had to do was apply a sticker to each of the bags and then drop them into the drop door just outside the entrance doors. There was no line, no waiting. If you DO want to go inside, you can buy bags there but I just get my bags at Safeway, I forget how much they cost, but like .50 each. they count your cans/bottles and add up what you are owed. You can check the website 2 days later to see how much you have in "your account" and then go back (unfortunately you have to go back inside, but no line... and you just scan your bottle drop card at the atm kiosk and it pays you.....Easy Peasy! I accumulated 10 bags and with the extra 20% they have right now.... I have $80 to go collect.... all for the inconvenience of saving my bottles in my car until I get home or putting them in the green bag bin I have outside in the laundry room. I hope this helps....It explains why we see people picking up and digging for cans etc...theres money we are just throwing away otherwise... so consider your desire not to deal with it as a donation to society, but please leave your recyclables visible and in an area where some possible needy individual, or someone collecting cans to donate funds to charity, doesnt have to jump in head first to a dumpster or filthy trash bin to make it that much worse for anyone or to potentially get sick. Karma..what goes around..... :)
correction to the reply that follows.... the kiosk that pays you is actually either at the bottle drop location or at a participating grocer retailer where you insert your bottle drop card in the kiosk and print out a voucher for cash, or for an extra 20% on groceries or supplies, you can print out a store voucher where you are shopping. You can also get cash at the drop off location. r (you have to check the website to find redemption participants), Albersons, Safeway, fred Meyer...etc. ALSO... when using the extra 20% ffor groceries, Only request the amount you plan to spend on that shopping expedition because the vouchers are only good for the amount withdrawn and there is no cash refund of remaining balance, voucher can only be used once, so clear the balance on the voucher....I plan to just ask for the cash! at the store ...PS there are alsos some stores like a particular Safeway on Sandy Blvd that have drop door bins so you dont have to go down to NE Portland.....
Hope you find your safe space soon.
Yes, I have, thanks. I've prevously saved many cans and given to homeless. But I also see these people trespassing constantly more now because of this increased 'reimbursement'. I've sat in my graduate classes at psu and watched people that have no business in my building come in and dive in the garbage cans, right in the middle of our sessions. I'd say in 2019, it used to happen consistently about every ten minutes, all day, everyday... its not a fruitful endeavor. Raising from 5 to 10 cents just takes more money out of my pocket and creates a frenzy where there doesnt need to be one. So yeah, I view it as a surcharge for me to do as I wish with my property. happy new year
@@dillcifer Go f yourself :) You throw things away in your rich school learning about 3rd world problems and can't beat the starving people looking for the scraps you've thrown away!? Is that it? How about creating a university program where those cans are turned in for a charity instead of throwing them away? How about a university program where those cans are taken to a pick up area so the homeless don't have to disturb your entitled life?
how do I talk to a human being
Does the bottle drop credit expire?
How much are the drop green bags
$2 for 10 bags. You fill them as tight as you can, then cinch the top.
@@janicestewart9889 Also- I find a full bag averages around $10. You too?
@@jakooboo147@Janice Stewart How many cans/bottles do you guys put in on average? On the thing it says not to add more than 30 12ounce glass bottles, as any more than that might not be counted. I followed those instructions today; however, there was still plenty of space left in the bags, at least 35% to 40% space left. I felt cheated, today, when I saw some of the people with green bags almost bursting out with what appeared to be at least 100 cans/bottles in their bags ;(
@@Eddieking The bottle limit is mostly because they have a weight restriction, I usually do 20-30 bottles and fill the bag up the rest of the way with cans.

Can you make a video of exactly what you donaccept? Can’t seem to find anything anywhere besides the pdf. Also a lot of my bottles still don’t say oregon return yet I am told they are returnable.
Hi Jen, We don't have a video for non-redeemable containers. OLCC provides a list of non-redeemable containers that may be useful for you. Check it out here --> www.oregon.gov/olcc/docs/bottle_bill/ExpandedBeverage_NotIncluded.pdf
I was driving in oregon and on the side of the road was countless partially crushed cans. My buddy and i parked on a turn out point and spent some time picking up the cans and plastic bottles. We even which found a glass Gatorade bottle, which has got to be 30 years old, so needless to say some of these cans and bottles where there for a while. We went to recycle the cans at one of your locations to find you only take cans in good condition. If this video is true then why wouldn't you accept the recyclable cans and bottles on the side of Oregon beautiful scenic highways?
Hi Casey, Our sincerest apologies for not replying to you sooner. Cans and bottles must be whole with labels intact in order to process a 10¢ refund. We apologize for any inconvenience. Any containers purchased in Washington can either be recycled with us or in curbside. Thank you for your dedication to recycling!
