  "Finally!!!" That is how I felt when this Arc, the Whole Cake Island/Big Mom Arc, finally came to a conclusion... I didn't stat watching One Piece from the very beginning. In fact, I oy started watching it about 18 months ago, when I decided to give it a go... I watched every available episode and movie in 4 months. I had almost no time for any other show. Anyway, I am now a major fan. Love it. Great characters, great writing... i do love the show. Except for THIS Arc. At first, I was extremely excited to start this chapter of the One Piece story, due in large part to the lore and hype that I would see everywhere about Big Mom. I actually couldnt wait to get to this Arc. And when it began, I totally understood why everyone loved it! So many great and memorable characters! Great artwork and drawing! Just amazing all around! And I LOVED the fact that, because I had kept myself from any and all spoilers, I had been completely surprised by the two major conflicting Events that would unfold during "The Wedding!" That was all the qay up until it began to get... boring. Monotonous. Repetitive. Ok, look... I enjoyed the Fight in the Forest with the mirror daughter, Charlotte Bruleé. I even took a big liking to a character that it seems some people in the fandom couldnt stand... Pound, the 25th(?) Husband of Linlin. I really like his entire storyline, and especially the way he stood up and fpught for his daughters. I enjoyed the Sanji/Pudding dynamic, and how Germa 66 intertwined in what we previously knew about Sanji's past. I thought Pudding was a good character, but I felt like we had seen the "abused, unloved daughter who has learned to hate the world, only to find love from a good Man" story before. However, I was convinced she would somehow run back to the family and hurt Sanji one more time. I was glad to see that she grew on her own as well. And the Capone Bege betrayal was AWESOME! I love him as a character almost as much as I love Bartolomeo! All of those things came together so well. And the moment of the Wedding, the multiple betrayals simultaneously, and how it all played out, all the way to the exploding Fishman treasure chest... loved all of it. And then, the exact moment this Arc went completely wrong, to me anyway, happened at 2 points: 1) When Big Mom starts freaking out (hunger pangs??? C'mon!) about the wedding cake... AGAIN! And 2) The seemingly unending fight between Luffy and Katakuri. First of all I will adress the fight... WTF! Look, I understand that almost ALL of the fights against "The Big Bad" in each Arc is SUPPOSED TO take a long time, and I get that Luffy is SUPPOSED TO get his butt whupped until he "learns" a knew skill or power up or GEAR, but this one was just... Boring. It went on entirely too long. And it felt like it never moved anywhere... This episode Luffy gets beat up. This episdoe Luffy gets beat up. This episode Luffy gets beat up. This episode Luffy gets beat up really bad. This episode Luffy gets beat up AND we introduce a completely unnecessary and annoying "younger sister" of Katakuri who interferes with their fight. BOOOOOOORING! But nothing, NOTHING in One Piece has annoyed me as much as Big Mom CONSTANTLY SCREAMING "MY CAKE! MY WEDDING CAKE!" for what seemed like 1000 epsodes! Good lord, shut up! For me, that ruined what could have been, should have been, a terrific Arc. It was simoky too long. And because of that, I felt like we barley spent any time on half of Big Mom's children. I really wanted to know more about those characters. Anyway, this is already waaaayyy too long. I am sorry. I just wanted to vent. If you made it this far, thanks for reading.   THIS is how you introduce a character! In my humble opinion, though, his "second intro" was fumbled. I think it should've been closer to the manga. No transformation, just straight to the point! Kaido: "Hey, Jack! Bring those brats to me!" Luffy: "WHAT IS THAT?" Law: "That's Kaido."

  Kaido has a long history of bringing strong people to his crew, he thought luffy was strong enough to join like others before and not strong enough to be a threat,, it makes perfect sense for him to capture instead of kill luffy

  Katakuri should've won the fight. If you really paid attention, Katakuri chose to let Luffy go and made a future appointment for them to fight again in the future at their best conditions. Katakuri to Luffy is really like how Whitebeard is to Roger

  yeah i think so too when luffy crawls out of another hole and kata is just standing tall above him its pretty obvious he was there for a while and could do ANYTHING to knock luffy out for good but pretty much gave up, was spiritually defeated when he asked if he was coming to beat big mom and couldnt take it anymore too

  ⁠​⁠@@xilofone8166 Katakuri should’ve won he let luffy transform even tho he could’ve prevented it, he stabbed himself to make it even, he has stronger armament and better observation haki, he’s faster but snake man is debatable on who’s faster,has his devil fruit awakened, he could’ve stabbed him when he was trapped him in mochi but choose to drown him in mochi, he told luffy his weakness(losing his cool) but I’m sure luffy would’ve figured that out, he was holding back like halfway in the fight. If katakuri didn’t fight honorably then Luffy would’ve lost
