two of my favourite recent writers douglas and rollins! extinction was an interesting take and a really important caution against de-extinction and genetic engineering
He needs to hold the microphone closer to his voice…
There’s a typo on page 162 First Edition July 2024 Eighth line from top Third word from end of the sentence “bad” should read “had”
Keep it up Jayne! I can’t wait for the next one….
I was there at that signing, in 1993, as well, in grad school at ASU ... met Mr Burke, he inscribed all my novels, even took a photo w me shaking hands! I'm looking at my copy of _Flags on the Bayou,_ as I type this. 🖋
Thank you for doing this! I really enjoyed listening to them and learning. Rebecca Thorne was one of my top favorite books I read this year. I now plan on buying The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst to read now that I know a bit more about the vibe of the book and about the author.
Just found A Deadly Walk In Devon by Nicholas George!
Lovely seeing her on KZread. She spoiled me this past year and I have savored every book. Thank you is not enough but I mean it from the bottom of my heart. Having said that I agree with your brother. Just one more. God bless!😂🎉❤
Absolutely an exceptional book!!!!
I totally get it. Though I did the opposite, I crochet less now, and read and walk more. I'd love to see some of your knitwear. My favorite book(s) this year: I Am Legend Uncle Tom's Cabin Kindred The Midnight Library Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine What Moves the Dead Do androids Dream of Electric Sheep I read the entire catalog of coauthors Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen and it's so hard picking just one as a favorite. I've had the BEST reading year.
I grabbed a copy at BAM today! I'm so excited for Ms. Shepherd!!!
You should start getting rid of things now!
Great discussion
PP Books. You need to change the name of the title to Storm Child. Not Storm Front.
Well, that's embarrassing. Thanks so much! It is now fixed.
No problem. I just like that PPBooks podcast and vids are sharp in content.
Walter Mosley is one of my all-time favorite writers! Actually, in terms of current novelists, he and Don Winslow are tied as my favorites! Walter's style of writing is very fascinating, captivating, soulful, descriptive, thought-provoking, action-packed, intelligent, and violent when necessary. He also brings a very interesting perspective to his novels as a Black American man in American history, culture, and society. I'm nearly done with his new Easy Rawlins mysteries and it's great! I highly recommend it. I look forward to the release of all of his novels because he's easily one of the best writers in literary history.
I keep meaning to read Don Winslow. I need to go ahead and pick his work up, if you're putting him on the same shelf as Mosley
@BluGiant14 Please do! Don Winslow is a phenomenal writer! I highly recommend his trilogy starting with a novel called THE POWER OF THE DOG. I've read and own every novel that he's released beginning with another brilliant release called THE WINTER OF FRANKIE MACHINE. I own easily ten of his novels. If you like Mosley, then there's a great chance that you will appreciate Winslow!
Thank you for this. However, I would have liked to hear much more from Jack. She hardly gave him the chance.
Thank you. What a treat. Akin to a green chili lasagna. Brings back a memory of searching a New Mexico map certain I would find the real Posadas County.
I found for me that The Year of the Locust was a terrific read
Richard Sikens is ZADDY
Thanks for sharing this commentary!
This lady is a know all. Hope he can stop her bla, BLA,BLA.
I’ll be reading this trilogy I reckon.
Jack…. BIG fan of your Phillip Mercer series, spent 33 years working with a geologist/ hydrologist and a lot of what Phillip gets into technically attracted me to your series with him. It would be great to have him present in a couple more adventures. Just finished “The Heist” well done.
My thanks to both John Charles and Jon Lindstrom for a lively and enjoyable conversation! And many thanks to The Poisoned Pen Bookstore!
Thanks to you, John, and to The Poisoned Pen Bookstore for hosting us -- I had such a wonderful time speaking with you and Ellen!
Woke putz, he used to be great.
What happened to this guy? He went from being the best, to an anti American, woke putz.
Thank you so much for this!! It was a true pleasure. I look forward to reading the newest Doc Ford
Craig Johnson is a fantastic writer!
Congrats on another winner, Graham!!!❤
Started reading Toxic Prey. Could not finish. Although I have read almost all of the Prey series, the Letty Davenport series have been disappointing. Too politically correct with an unrealistic view of world order. DEI from John Sandford? Dumb.
Cotton Malone, we want.
he joking about almost having to serve prison time but being able to skirt it right? lol
dam didn't know that about his middle child, 24/7 full time care forever is a heavy
Enjoyed this so much. Have been a fan of the author and this series for years
Does anyone know when the fourth book in the Fairmile series is coming out?
Thank you very much for posting this interview. Great job!
I have always absolutely loved this series of books/audiobooks, especially
Andrww Klavan, hearing your interest in the kind of characters you want to write about, I wonder if daily wire will ever want the movie rights to Mathew Cox's books. It would be so interesting to me to wee a series of criminals in prison and their life story, how they triumph over their human tendency towards pride, repeating patterns of the past, etc. I think it could be an excellent series if those wtories were told by Daily Wire as opposed to Hollywood who would try to make those story about racism instead of a story about humanity
The Comfort of Ghosts is quite a satisfying end to the Maisie Dobbs series. Regarding this video-and for future videos-please, please repeat the audience questions before answering them for those of us watching online. They’re ofherwise inaudible. Better yet, pass a mic around during Q&A time so that we can hear the questions as they’re asked.
I just finished The Comfort of Ghosts. Lovely book. Perfect (though sad) ending to a na awesome series. 😊
I can't believe mine is the only comment. I'm a big fan of Michael and a new fan to Stewart, his Last Night at the Lobster, is a new favorite!
This lady is a know it all.
Both of Terry Hayes's books are masterfully written i hope he writes more works hes an amazing storyteller
Books rule. One of your movies was great, but books are amazing.
I've been reading the Dirk Pitt adventures since 1979 and some of the others, just started the latest Corsican Shadow. Please keep them coming
The Last Murder at the End of the World was a superb read, I absolutely loved it. One Perfect Couple is such a great read that I couldn't put it down until finished. Please, as a fellow reader, I implore you to pick up both. I understand that One Perfect Couple made it to the NYT bestseller list. Well, both books belong there. Believe me. Both are so engrossing and just such a good time!
Great talk! Hadn't heard the story behind Relic before. Though I was sad when the and of the trilogy came up. My mom passed in April and she was so upset about that cliffhanger! I will read for both of us
Deep Storm is one of the greatest, most unique books I have read(listened to honestly 😂) in some time.
Terry Hayes is a very gifted writer and story teller just finished I Am Pilgram and starting Year of the Locust
