What I'm interested in is whether it would be possible to restart the engines after the fire extinguishers were triggered.
@kevinsbikingadventures2788 ай бұрын
From my understanding, no. I've watched a few documentaries about airplane incidents, and whenever they bring up the possibility of using the fire switch, it basically kills the engine. So, pilots have to use it in the most extreme circumstance.

When the handle is pulled, 4 valves are closed. As part of the heavy check, these valves are tested by pulling the handle, then presumably stowing the handle. So, the assumption is that restoring the handle opens the 4 valves. I've found nothing in the Aircraft Systems Manual that specifically states this and I don't have access to the Maintenance Manual so I can't be sure.

You can definitely stow it when you pull it. But I always thought that when you twisted the handle which fires the bottles, that the engine is shut down for good.
