    Sadly, I didn’t install the shift linkage boot 100%, so it flew off around 45 mph and got ripped off from the driveshaft. That, and my new shifter buzzes/vibrates a good amount. Unless I hold the shift knob or shifter, the whole entire assembly rattles like mad when accelerating past 2k. When I let off the throttle, it rattles still, but just barely. The kit gives you some generic Dynamat sound deadening, but I had to buy extra sound deadening to place in and around the shifter housing area underneath the car. Still vibrates, but way less. I’m also DIY’ing a shift linkage dust cover/boot bc they don’t sell that one dust cover all by itself, sadly…..

    They sell a new kit to replace those garbage white Teflon bushings, but this shifter is garbo. I'm trying it and ppl say it works. I have same issues as you. Going mgw or something else if this doesn't fix it

    Can this be used instead of locking the front brakes on, to lock the front brakes off? (ie, instead of holding pressure, to prevent pressure from being built so that the master cylinder only applies pressure to the front?)

    It can be installed in reverse flow on the back brakes, this way no pressure will go to rear and only to the front. This will allow you to modulate the front pressure normally for rolling burnouts or doughnuts.

    You should discuss the proper removal of the stick shift springs. These are barely discussed in the instructions or videos.

    My Hurst shift broke off in my hand when I was shifting from 2nd to 3rd. Might I add that I learned how to drive a manual before an automatic and I've been driving for 20+ years and have never had this happen before! 🤦🏾‍♀️

    It’s nearly impossible to get the dust boot back on correctly. If it gets torn you simply cannot by another one from Chevrolet as there is no part # you must buy a complete shifter.

    I installed the new Hurst Laminar Flow Mufflers made by Flowmaster and could not be more pleases. They give my car a deep more refined sound than any other muffler system I have heard to date. And trust me I have heard all the major offerings. I even had a State Trouper stop me just to fined out what exhaust I had on my car. He owns a 2014 Mustang and said when he heard my car pull away from an intersection he had to know what was producing the perfect sounding Mustang GT. The Hurst are made from the best stainless steel so they will keep looking good unlike others who only use the best stainless for the tips.

    Just ordered the Hurst's Axle back exhaust for my 2013 Mustang GT. Looking forward to the UPS man rolling up to the house this Thursday with a box of goodies for my pony car. It may say Hurst on the outside but its all Flow-Master laminar tech on the inside of a 304 polish stainless shell that looks to good to hide under the car.

    We do not make a Hurst Billet/Plus Pistol-Grip Automatic Shift Handle for the CTS-V. Due to the age of the application and lack of demand for that product I see no future plans to design one. Unfortunately, I do not have a different Pistol grip shift handle that can be modified to work either. The application is too specialized. - Jason @ Hurst

    Hurst Performance, wouldn't it be very similar if not the same as the Corvette and Camaro since they share the same 6.2l supercharged LSA driveline with the Cadillac CTS-V? The same shifter was used from 2008-2015 in the CTS so I don't believe it's as specialized as you claim. Not sure about lack of demand either since there are numerous Cadillac forums that focus on nothing but mods for the CTS-V.

    Based on the photos that I could find of the automatic shifter assembly for the 2013 Cadillac CTS-V on Google and the internal photos that I have of the installation of this shifter on a 2016 Camaro I do not believe that this will fit. This shift handle is designed for the 2016-2018 Camaro which has the 8-speed (8L45 or 8L90) or 10-speed (10L90) automatic transmission, not the 6L90 that I show is in the CTS-V. In photos, it appears that the diameter of the shift stick itself is larger on the Camaro versus the CTS-V. It appears that the set screw location may be different between models and the push button trigger may not contact the button on the shift stick the way that it should. Please understand that my previous comments about the platform itself were based on a business sense. To design, engineer and produce a new product is costly and time-consuming. I can assure you during these early test phases we make every effort to test fitment on similar models and also update fitments if a client reaches out to let us know of alternative fitment options. The forums are great platforms to learn what works, what doesn't and what has been tried and what failed. If you have not seen any threads about an aftermarket auto shifter stick/handle for the CTS-V there's a good chance that it's too complicated or too expensive. If you like please contact us at 707-544-4761 with a few pics of the shifter installed (with a good pic of the button on the front of the handle) and if possible pics of the shift stick with boot removed and the button on the top of the exposed shift stick. A diameter measurement of the exposed shift stick would be ideal. If you really want an answer and feel comfortable with removal, etc. I will do my best to get you the correct answer. - Jason @ Flowmaster

    i have an older shifter on my mud truck....the lock is a T shape. Even with a short arm on trans.....the shifter will not pull back far enough to hit 2nd or 1st.....only drive. Do i have a part not working? it stops at drive and is very firm and will not move back farther

    Sounds like it could be an issue with adjustment. Did the shifter properly work at some point? Was it previously dialed in? If not you may want to disconnect the cable from the shifter side and row through the gears to ensure that the shifter is properly working. You may also want to cycle the lever on the transmission side to confirm the transmission is shifting correctly. If both look good then I would recommend to call us at 707-544-4761. Your shifter has a lifetime, limited warranty so I highly recommend making that call. - Jason @ B&M Racing

    well...it did work before with old drive train with a turbo350......never ever occurred to me the new 700r4 has extra shift points....my bad. Looks like i need a more modern shifter, this one getting up there in years

    matt sez The Hurst V-Matic 3 is designed to work on the 3-speed TH350 or the 4-speed 700R4 with no additional bracketry or hardware needed. The shifter will have a blocker pin that needs to be removed to convert for use on a 4-speed application. If you haven't already take a look at the installation instructions (linked below) and make sure that your brackets are in the correct location, that the shifter is correctly set up and the cable adjustment is right. These shifters are pretty bullet-proof so I'm pretty sure that the issue may be something minor. Installation instructions: files.dpbrands.com/hurst/instructions/3838530.pdf - Jason @ Hurst

    When designing and engineering our performance products we make every effort to ensure an easy install. Sometimes due to the design of the application itself, a more involved installation process may be necessary.     Can you skip a gear on an agressive shift with a quarter stick? I know shifters such as the Mega shifter you cannot but I didnt know if this had the same mechanism.

    No, you cannot skip a gear. The Hurst Quarter Stick is a racing shifter, so the trigger on the Hurst Quarter Stick must be actuated to allow the shifter to go to the next gear (when going from low to drive) to prevent unwanted gear changes/misses. Unlike the B&M Racing Mega Shifter, which is a "ratchet style" shifter, the Hurst Quarter Stick is a "gated style" shifter.     The red button is a 12-volt momentary switch. It can be used for a trans brake, nitrous or line-lock activation or nearly any 12-volt powered accessory that you can think of. It does not have to be hooked up but the button will be on all Hurst Quarter Stick Shifters.     The Hurst Competition Plus Shifter for the 2011-2014 Mustang (part# 3916039) arrives partially assembled. During the installation, you will have a few "donor" items from the OEM shifter that need to be transferred to the new Hurst Shifter. As for height, the shifter measures 8.50" from the billet aluminum base to the top of the white Hurst Shift Ball.     Hello, I have a 2008 Challenger SRT8. Would it be possible to get use this knob in conjunction with the shaft and jam nut that are used in Hurst Shifters® Part #: 5380402? I really prefer this all aluminum black milspec over your 3pc pistol grip that is made for my year with no adapters.

    You can piece together the shift stick setup that you're describing, but you'll have to call us at 707-544-4761 to order the correct parts. We refer to these type of items as "Service Parts" and they can only be ordered over the phone.     Could you change the gate on this shifter to a 4 speed gate and make it compatible with a 4 speed transmission (700r4) ?

    Unfortunately no, the gate plate on the Hurst Quarter Stick Shifter is welded in and is not serviceable. The Hurst Quarter Stick (either traditional shift stick style or pistol-grip style) is not designed to work on a 700R4 application. The majority of our Hurst shifters are geared towards manual transmissions, you may want to take a look at what our sister Company B&M Racing has to offer. If you like the look of the black Hurst Quarter Stick Pistol-Grip, B&M Racing offers two similar looking shifters. Head on over to B&MRacing.com and search for part #'s 81052 & 81120. Both of these shifters are designed to work with the 700R4, both options are black, anodized pistol-grip shifters and both will arrive with all the hardware, brackets and levers that you will need, no additional parts are necessary. Other than looks both shifters are very similar. The biggest difference between the two is part# 81052 is the B&M Racing Pro Stick and this shifter is a gated style shifter just like the Hurst Quarter Stick. Part# 81120 is the B&M Racing Pro Ratchet and this is a ratchet style shifter. I have included a KZread link below that details the Pro Ratchet Shifter.     The product looks great but using a zip tie to hold it in place? Having to hide the original shifter inside a panel still connected to the harness? come on guys, I expected better from Hurst

    Unfortunately, there are those times when we cannot engineer our design around the factory design. Having to tuck the OEM shifter out of the way is one of those instances. Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep vehicles have a number of computers and sensors and some models have well over 25 ECU's that monitor various items. The Charger and Durago models that these shifters fit have a sensor tied into the stock shifter assembly and this cannot be bypassed without a resulting M.I.L. illuminating. As for the shift boot installation other than the Chrysler 300C (which does not have a shift boot), all applicable applications have their OEM shift boot glued on from the factory. Our Hurst replacement shift handles have a groove milled into the shift handle which helps to keep the tie in its place, beneath the OEM shift boot. We spend a great deal of time, effort and money when designing our performance products but as you can see sometimes the manufacturer creates a design that we have to adapt to.     Take a look at our Universal Pistol-grip handles. These are available with or without a 12volt button that will allow the use of a line-lock, nitrous or any other 12-volt accessory. You can search for these shifters on our website by searching for the following part numbers. Silver with-12 volt button-1536200, black with 12-volt button-1536210, silver without 12 -volt button-1531000 and black without 12-volt button-1536010.     No, the Hurst Pro-Matic 2 shifter is designed to work with TH250, 350, 375 & 400, Ford and Chrysler applications. The Hurst V-Matic 3 will work on the 700R4 with no additional bracketry necessary. The majority of shifters that Hurst manufactures are for 3,4,5 and 6 speed manual transmissions. Our sister company B&M Racing offers 9 automatic shifter options that will work on your 700R4.     Wv_yzf_1k I have seen many people fabricate a bracket or arm to "make" our shifters work on applications that they were not intended for. There's a good chance that the shifter to transmission components have been "customized". - Jason @ Hurst

    Is this the car or truck one? I have a 69 nova with a bench seat have a center consul so need a shifter that will be tall enough to reach when strapped in harnesses?

    The shifter used in the video is the car version of the Hurst Pro-Matic 2. The truck version is Hurst part number 3838510. Our sister company B&M Racing also has the Light Truck MegaShifter (B&M Racing part number 80680) that may work for your application.
