If I'm Rob Pelinka, and we're sitting down at the bargaing table, this is my first question for Markinen: When you come to the end of your career, do you want to be able to say I have won at least one NBA title? If so, you come to the Lakers. It really gets down to a player 's career goals. Let's face it, whether a player has a contract for $20 million or $50 million, there's no issue of putting food on the table every night or making the monthly rent. Currently , I believe there is no other team that can offer Markinen a compensation package and the potential to become an instant contendet next year. So if wining not just one, but multiple, titles is a major consideration for Markinen, the Lakers offer the greatest opportunity to fulfill that goal.

Levine would be a good fit with the Lakers. He when healthy can ‘get buckets.’ If Lebron returns to a point forward position and they avoid sending Reeves that’s a fearsome foursome. The only issue would be defense. Of the four Lebron. Davis , Levine and AD , only AD is an elite defender. Reeves, Lebron and Levine are capable defenders are capable defenders with limitations. Lebron because of his age plays stellar defense sporadically saving his energy for offensive end. Reeves lack of foot speed makes him limited. Levine has no desire to do no more than appear to try. That foursome would need an elite rim protector at the five position to cover all sins.
