Yeah the form C requirement is an issue. You can call them beforehand and ask by searching on google, you can get their contact number. They basically have to register for that form C and in smaller towns fewer hotels have that.
respect who is handbiking !!
i have one question, how did you ride bicycle up over the flyoversin your path ?
❤
Access to the whole bakery in the morning 😋

This man is the main character.
Such an absolutely WILD goal, I’m so stoked to watch this all play out.
@@TheRandomTandem thankyou hermano!

Memories in the making. Unveiling the wonders of the world. Falling in love with the journey, not just the destination. Solo travel for life.
Try payday bars they don’t melt and you can get them in small bars that you can eat during your ride.
@@Yourlilwillie I’ll try them out thankyou!
Awesome vid my man
@@nomadchad5733 gracias hermano!!
They just wouldn't let you in as you looks suspicious 🤣 nice adventuring, not sure I'd enjoy the humidity!
Hahaha I can’t disagree! It was boiling but I honestly didn’t mind it too much! There was one day where it really affected but otherwise was lapping it up like a lizard!
Good morning
I wanted to say you should've gone tubeless for the race but yeah, would've prolly required wider tires...also, nano TPU inner tubes, get a few of those and you'll be set - they weigh a fraction of what a normal inner tube weighs but are more expensive of course. All in all, this was a brutal race! Glad you made it safe and sound, apart from the arse shenanigans! 😆
@@5kyforger so I started with the front tubeless and I think would have been okay but I had to chuck a tube in 2/3 of the way around just because I misplaced the plugs at an earlier puncture 😂 a miriad of errors and bad luck! Next time wider and tubeless for dure
@@bikingvikingrides hhahha it just goes to show you that even with experience, one can still forget or f** up something! That being said, every ride IS an experience for sure.
You got so much good footage! Awesome video man, pro level for sure. Looking forward to the next one.
Thankyou bro!! Definitely focusing efforts on long form at the moment! ❤
That looks like an adventure! Have you used a hand bike? If so what was it like?
When I was in Mexico I borrowed Michiels for a quick ride. On the flats it seemed enjoyable but picking up speed on downhill pretty scary! Mainly due to turning being quite difficult. However, uphill is absolute hell. Your arms are just not meant for that kind of endurance! After a minute of uphill riding mine were on fire!
Did you get a puncture tho?

Bravo 😃💪🦵🚴♂️🚴
Crazy that its your first training session but its after cycling from alaska to argentina 😅
🤣
Great Video! :)
Thanks bru!
Hey Benson, it’s Bruce. Wow super inspiring dude, you’ve got tons of grit and super stoked you ended up doing so well! Andrew sent me the vid, love it! See you next year! 💪👏
Bruce!!! Thankyou boss! See you on the start line next year or maybe over your way sometime!
Stop, stop, stop. I just tried to make own record and do 160 km of gravel and i finished on 94. km because I couldn't sit anymore on saddle, big pain. Question, how people solve this question especially when You this crazy distance?
Well I definitely haven’t solved it for the full distance as the final 110km were super painful! But to build up to where 100/200km is not comfortable I would say slowly build up the distances over time allowing your body to get used to it. You should also check the saddle though and maybe head over to a bike shop to see if there are different saddles you could try. Definitely what I will be doing before my next race!
Lower the music sound man, could barely hear you
Congratulations. Great comeback! Tubeless all the way. This was my first GBE too. I had one puncture in my tubeless setup and that was easily fixed with a plug.
Thankyou boss! Yup tubeless and wider tyres for me next year for sure!
Benson you legend! Liked and subscribed! Love how you've found something and what you're doing mate! Have to get you out on a MTB with me 😜🤘🏼
Thankyou bro for the very kind words! I’m just looking into an MTB at the moment boss! Gonna see if I can work with some brands to try some out! Then I’ll come ride with ya!
Great video and huge kudos for not giving up. Your time was still great even all the delays, as you spent at least 8 hours in Rochester plus changing like a zillion inner tubes, you would ended up in top 5
Thankyou Miro! Fingers crossed for next year!
An expensive sounding conclusion 😂
How long does it take you to change an innertube now? You must have done hundreds. What's the main cause you see for punctures?
It massively depends on the problem Matt! If the puncture is easy to locate and the culprit easy to determine then maybe 5-10 minutes. In the middle of the night with tubeless sealant everywhere it takes a bit longer.. haha! These punctures I think were all caused by me being a bit too heavy for the tyre width and course. It was no surprise that whenever I got one it was normally when the terrain got rougher!
Like and subscribed. Nice way to do it as opposed to my random rambling madness 😂
Thankyou sir!
Great comeback from that far back =)
Thanks boss!
My FTP Test Results: Avg Power: 304W Distance: 14.38km Avg Cadence: 104 rpm Avg Speed: 43.1 km/h Avg HR: 173 Projected FTP: 289W Thoughts: I reckon it went pretty well for a first time although had a few gripes with the machine. You’ll see me messing around in the video with the knob which controls the magnetic resistance. Throughout the 20 minutes it would slowly dial down, reducing the amount of watts I was putting out and increasing my cadence. Not great and meant I was constantly fiddling with it. When I did find a rhythm the watts displayed on the screen would jump around a 60-80W difference when my output was pretty consistent. No idea whether this impacted the final result but was weird to see it jump from 330W down to 260W with a consistent effort. Could have been over or under estimating in the end! With the excuses out the way though I’m happy to have a figure for the start of the training plan next week! I’m definitely looking at doing another test though (🤢) to check my numbers! #bikingvikingrides #cycling #bike #bicycle #wattbike #explore #thebikingviking #ftp #ftptest #cyclinglife #cyclingtips
Such a tease - I can't see the results! 😁
KZread definitely didn't post the full description! I'll chuck them below.
Amazing Bro ❤

Bloody tops summary of the race Benson! Shoulda be carrying a full size stand-pump on the back to get those punctures fixed fast haha
