    Nice work! Traditional puuko the tang is a through tang. Peened over at the end. Now that gives you another thing you can practice on. 😆

    I wasn’t going for traditional, it was more of an inspired by puukko design. I seen how they were made and didn’t really wanna go all the way in that direction. It started with the handle design and the puukko shape just seemed to fit naturally

    I recently did the same thing. Took a piece of spring scrap and started pounding. Decided to do a hidden tang for the first time. Made some mistakes but had fun. Nice work man. It's nice seeing people doing similar stuff. Thanks for this video.

    Looks good. I am still working on my first hidden tang. Its working out okay. It's nice to see someone else doing it without a bunch of experience with hidden tangs.

    You need gloves, safety glasses and a fireproof jacket/apron. Don’t wear flip flops either.

    The junk yard steel chart says those are s-5, look up junk yard steel carbon content chart it helps.

    Great Video and always good to explain, easy to follow instruction. Glad I come across your videos. Would like to see a 1941 SAS/Commando 'Fairbairn Sykes Dagger' if you are interested in forging one, even your own design. it's certainly on my list and Nano Cad lol.     @@Little_River_Forge Sounds great friend. By the end of the year I will have saved enough to have my basic hobby forge up and running. I admire you can make video's on YT as I wouldn't ever, I prefer watching and learning and using them to improve my skills when I finally have a forge. Look forward to your next video ☺ ☺

    I forgot to tell you I finally got my forge set up and got an anvil a couple of months ago. I went with a Vevor single burner and the Vevor 66 lb London pattern anvil

    This billet I had help making it was my first Damascus project, my friend suggested doing raindrop pattern. It’s a simple pattern to achieve if you have the know how and a little guidance.

    On the thermal cycles, are you letting it cool completely? How long do you wait in-between cycles?

    I let the cool to the point they are a little too hot to touch but wouldn’t make water sizzle if it driped on it
