No, carrots don’t produce solanine like potatoes. They green part, from sun exposure, may be bitter, but not poisonous

I’ve only ever seen I color of carrots the orange one, I didn’t know they come in all those variety of color ❤️🙌🏽

Orange carrots are a result of human interference. Originally carrots were yellow, purple, or white and since then we've modified them to come in other colours and varieties

Solanaceae includes potatoes and tomatoes so they are closely related, and some Solanaceae plants were used as poison (deadly nightshade) historically :). Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Im also in zone 7 and was just looking up fall crops to plant, so here i am 😅😊. Thanks for the info! I think im too late for pumpkins tho sadly. Need to see if my local nursery has some started i guess.
