I grew up listening to stereo music however when streaming music now I prefer to use multichannel mode not stereo mode because I think it sounds better.
The obsession with the shorting plates between the tweeter input terminals and the bass input terminals has reached alarming proportions! The manufacturers of speakers know full well that the material these are made from is as equal to the job of conducting the current between the terminals as the printed circuit board tracks that are found on the crossovers inside the loudspeakers. The idea that replacing these short pieces of metal with cable, however 'good' quality it may be (and usually a good bit longer!) is absurd. Surely if this where true, then it would matter whether one plugs into the top or bottom set of terminals, as, when plugged into the top ones the shorting plate only carries the bass signal to the woofer filter, and conversely, when plugged into the bottom set of terminals the shorting plates only carries the treble component to the tweeter filter. On the subject of the crossover filters, the method of biamping suggested is pointless, as the signal to the tweeters and woofers still has to pass through the crossover filters in each path. The only really valid biamp system is that in which the output from the preamp is fed through an electronic crossover which divides the treble component from the bass and feeds it straight to the drive units. BTW, the idea of using two dissimilar amps for bass and treble in your 'passive' biamping system means that gain must be controllable on one of the amplifiers to be able to balance the outputs of treble to bass. Whether it's worth splitting the bass and treble at the amplifier end (biwire) or at the speaker terminals (conventional single wired) I don't have an opinion.....I'm just fascinated by the number of videos made by, and watched, by people who haven't a clue how speaker crossovers work!!!
I started separating preamp and amp in the early 80’s then to mono amps in early 2000. Will never go back to an integrated amp and stereo amps. But that’s me, it doesn’t mean it has to be the same for everybody.
Personally I liked the looks of the older Oly's. But I'm sure the sound quality has improved.
Two quality network switches with SFP ports will do the same for $200. - get a 48 port Switch and space out your cables 300mm instead of 30mm - use one network switch for your home network and connect your switch (dedicated for audio) to the main switch with FIBER Also, a quality multi-rail power supply you can not fit in this small box.
You can also try to disassemble all the internal wifi antennas and of course disable all wifi functions. This in addition to a good power supply, the digital signal gains in quality. Reading the comments the dithering is not known to everyone...
Really Thank you for the video. At the end of the video, at minute 12:09, another amplifier appears on the right of the screen. It appears to be larger in size. Can you tell me the model of this amplifier?
That’s the E-650, it just looks taller because the shelf it is on is slightly higher up.
Can you open the IsoTek and verify parts, values and how they’re connected to do the noise reduction?
I have an Accuphase E-4000 integrated and have been thinking about getting a DP-570. I am wonder how the sound signature compares to the bit more affordable Marantz SA-10. Any insights would be very helpful.
I have a customer who traded in an SAKI-Ruby for a DP-570, the difference was huge, not even in the same ball park. Accuphase is worth the little bit extra and will last a lot longer too.
@@SoundlineAudioNewZealand Thank you very much for the insight.
Yes but everyone wants to know where are the Gold Gen 6 lol
u2mini good
Yes it is.
This guy just talks n talks .. plus its just average gear you would think it was Good Stuff 😮😮
I have a Luxman 509X integrated amplifier with a EQ-500 phono stage. Would it be worthwhile in this case to upgrade to a seperate power and control amplifier?
11:24 my friend has E-650 & Sonus Faber Amati Futura, so plz dont think such a bs
Honestly every tutorial needs to be as clear and easy as yours!🙌🏼 thank you so much
Nice ! I've always wondered if the sound quality difference between the different models is worth the delta in price... Would love to see double blind tests !
Cant you just use a speakers switch?
Speaker switches are one more thing to introduce noise into the system. Generally speaking they are not made very well (certainly not to the same quality as hifi equipment), and in my experience they just ruin the sound from both devices.
interesting
Hi. What turntables are shown?
Well Tempered Verselex and Well Tempered Amadeus 254.
The receivers have bn qround since the late 60s.. look up the power wars of the 70's where some of those flagships would crap all over the gutless recievers these days... Im a muso, several bands abd albums over the decades, this 'auqdiofile' bs is just gonna sound the same," silibance on each element",? Wow. Chur, cuzz... do you drive a maserati or green cirolla er, i mean a lanbirGREENI??!!
😅
Hi, Can I use these in a room that measures 19.5 ft long x 11.5 ft wide x 10-14 ft high and pair these with my Accuphase E-4000 Integrated? Would I need a subwoofer?
How they sound compared to Gold 100?
Worth a listen great sales man but is all he's talking about factual I think I'm going to buy a set of diamond incrusted jumper blades definitely going to make sure they cost than two thousand pounds😅
You don't need seperayte amp decks to bi amp. An 4 channel amp in the same deck has 4 amplifies with in it and can bi amp 2 speakers
Hahahaha..!!! This was fun..!!! Thank you...
Hi James, I wonder can you answer a question form,em about the Well Tempered Classic with the round , inset pod and whether the motor is an AC or DC ?I’ve been wanting to bring one over from the USA to UK and the problems with the power supply seem rather difficult . Less so if it’s DC .could I perhaps replace the motor totally with a. Origin live DC motor and PSU to solve it ? Any advice is appreciated ! I love to see the videos you make, with the attention to detail and help to viewers with less orthodox turntables . Turntables that are genius minimalism and beautiful that don’t shout their design genius but seem to sit their knowingly !
Hi. Shouldn't be a problem, you just need a new wall power supply. Give the UK Well Tempered distributor a call. Pear Audio I believe.
Nice ❤❤
No sound is worth that price, sorry 😢
What if you earn $150K a month?
@@SoundlineAudioNewZealand I’m very well off here in Vegas and my system and room is well over 150k alone, and I still would not throw money away,I am not a sucker for these manufacturers
Great! How does it compare to the 1000 double box set? Is the latter anywhere close worth the x3 investment?
This is a good idea for a future video. Thanks!
Did you play any SACD disks during audition especially DSD recorded acoustic music? The Accuphase DP-770 DAC can process DSD256/PCM384 via USB. Any such audio files tried out or compared to discs.? The ESS ES9028PRO DACS are 8 channel DACS probably configured here for Mono differential, one DAC per channel giving higher DNR (135dB). Presumably its not using 8 x 8 channel DACS? Can you disable the noise cancelling of the analog signal?
Oh my.... $26K USD ? YIKES !!! Seems a bit excessive ?
Question is though, at those prices, will it last forever?
Accuphase equipment these days is built to last at least 40 years, so most of your working life. Not forever, no but 40 years is pretty impressive by today standards.
Value is relative. If 26K is very expensive to you then this is probably not the product for you. But there’s plenty of people to whom that amount of money is perfectly reasonable and even some to whom that amount of money is absolutely nothing.
Awesome
2024 still use analog what about digital input and output
Does E 800 is much better than E 700 ? Does it feels 15 Watt more power in e 800 ? I used to use E 650 and it was astonishing good. ...at present I switched to MA 9500 with no satisfy.
Compared to E-650 the E-800 sounds boring
What do YOU mean ? E 800 sounds boring ?
@@marcin14013q E-800 sounds technically perfect! But E-650 has more emotion, more Bass
I expect more bass from 50W so I’m confused now 😮
@@marcin14013q Soundquality does not depend on watts
I just got a fairly unused Amadeus GTA and this video and your others has been really really helpful as I am terrible at mechanical things. You mention stuff that worries me that instruction manuals do not even bother to discuss like which way the platter goes on. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I’ll take the Yamaha A-S3200 over this any day of the week.
Well take it then. ACCUPHASE are a class act
Why?
@@elmhurst86 Not enough balls to properly drive my 801 series 2 speakers.
@ChicagoRob2 Yes, but they are two different amps. The Accuphase is a completely Class A amp whereas the Yamaha is Class A/B.
سلام با تشکر از soundline یک سوال مهم با این هزینه e700 بهتره یا ترکیب c2120 با p4500 ?
Of course, even E-650 is better!
My experience with Accuphase products is that it takes quite some time for them to sound at their best so it would be interesting to know if the difference becomes more apparent over time.
Hi kimber kable or nordost?
Can you let us know where you get the gadgets from pls? Really interesting info, I would like to get the hi-fi level.
Streaming sucks . i like to own my music . if streaming isn't your thing then consider the model 30 . it's perfect for analog freaks and it has tone controls which i still love . i can tweak the song exactly how i want it . sometime i might want a bit more bass in a song i play often or i can get rid of any sharp highs that i find annoying . never understood why tone controls were dropped by most manufactures . I LOVe the smooth creamy sound of the 30 .
the other reason i got the 30 is because i'm using 4 ohm speakers that are NOT sensitive . the extra power of the 30 at 200 watts into 4 ohms really wakes up my speakers .
I have a N130 with Pd creative power supply, and an Eversolo A6 ME with Pd Creative power supply. Whilst the ESS dac chips definately offer more detail, space and precision, the warmth and the musicality of the N130 still has it's place in my system. Overall I'd say the N130 is a more musical and honest sounding machine. The Eversolo can be a lot of fun but when I just want a more laid back presentation with a bit more " realism" about it, I'll go back to my Node. I'd imagine some of the Xtra people are hearing on the Node X is similar. Is it better than the N130 though, that's the question, or is it just different. More detail doesn't always mean better. It can mean less musical or more harsh.

I started with Technics it was my first foray from a budget console turntable to a more serious yet very entry level $99.00 SL-D202 direct drive semi-automatic turntable. That thing ran trouble free from 1982 until it was sold for consignment in 2019. Now consider this was intended as disposable product and certainly was nothing special, but its reliability sold me on a SL 1200 GAE which to me is every bit of a higher end product despite not ever having any use for the pitch slider. Like its old sister the 202 it has run now trouble free since 2016 and most likely will be the last turntable I will own. There is no beating it for spot on speed accuracy, elimination of motor hum, and bearing rumble. It is dead silent,
why not a better amplification circuit? Class A?
Oh , yes, thanks for the guide , it’s not often such a clear explanation is given for set up of what at first appearance seems a complex turntable , well done .
We want Frank ! Thanks , for the steps shown . It’s a turntable of genius , with the deconstruction of design , reducing to their essential function and seems in doing so to also have reduced all the potential problems we’re so used to with turntables . I love its unpretentiousness . A golf ball is a perfect designed form , so make use of it and don’t disguise it either , perfect ! I’ve been looking at a second hand Simplex 1 and haven’t pulled the trigger yet because there is also a Townshend Rock for the same price , a turntable I’ve long admired and wanted . Both are brilliant designs but approaching damping from similar but opposite ends of the tonearm ! I just can’t make my mind up which to go for ! Any advice from someone with experience of either is appreciated .
The "display" is a mess....
I owned two Pro-ject VC-E record cleaners. Both defect within 1.5 years each !
Weight plates between the cartridge and headshell or not…? I say no, because even if you have turned the counter weight in the back to meet the cartridge’s desired weight, the cartridge is now heavier, so technically if you drop the needle on accident you will scratch your record easier…
