  This is exciting stuff! I’m really hoping this will become available to the regular Crystal. DLSS is not available in most VR titles and often times it looks terrible or offers little gains. This Pimax Upscaler seems to be impressive and a valid option going forward.

  Just received the adapter yesterday. I already have a quest 3 and play many games in vr with the quest link cable. (Mfs2020, NMS etc..) I have a Alienware G15 with a 4090. Let me tell you.. it is a game changer with the psvr2.. The colors!!!! Oh my god the colors.. and the blacks.. its amazing!! Everything worked perfectly! Watching 3d movies via Bigscreen is just amazing! For me, the mura effect is a lot less noticeable compare to the headset connected to the PS5. Its just amazing guys... amazing!!!!

  Nice, compared to the quest 3, it is very good. Quest 3 doesn't have local dimming like the crystal, did you had any problems with tracking?

  It is working very well, I don't use openXR because it is not so comfortable with FPSVR and openVR Eye Capture, but I know a guy, he loves to tinker with openXR Toolkit Settings.

  Fantastic!! very importantly how do the colors and brightness compare between the crystal and the Psvr2?? I own the Pimax 8kx and the Psvr2 with PC adapter And I am amazed with the colors and brightness, contrast psvr2 OLED provides though it is not as sharp as my 8kx. I am on the verge of buying the Crystal light.... So your opinion is very important to me.

  I like the PSVR2, but Mura kills the immersion like I said in the video. I love the colors with the crystal light and you can tinker with the settings, also you are able to use openXR Toolkit to tinker even more, but as always- my opinion counts nothing, you have to test yourself. Feel free to come to my office, you can try the crystal and the crystal light yourself.

  unfortunately, it is too early to answer this, I liked what I saw, but it was only 1 game and a short test with the UEVR Mod and Hellblade 2. So, my plan is to collect more hours with the upscaler and then I can give you better feedback. Right now, I'm happy, that it is just on / off and nothing to tinker with

  On your FPSVR overlay, your "SteamVR Resolution" stays the same all the time, are you running a older version of FPSVR? Mine changes, shows 4 different bits of information one of them being the exact resolution..... In my G2 it will show, SteamVR res 100%, Default Res (I think) 100%, Global res 100% and then 3160 x 3092. I would love if you could display this on your FPSVR when you make a video, it would give us a idea as to what the real resolution is since each different HMD will have a different 100% resolution depending on their panel res and optics (distortion profile?). Great video again, still waiting for my PCL, taking a long time (ordered May 31).

I don't know if it shows up on the monitor part of FPSVR, I will have to look next time I fire it up, I'm talking about the display you show in your videos (in the HMD). The only thing I can think of why it might not be showing up, FPSVR is not getting the info or being blocked by Pimax Play? But then again, FPSVR is a SteamVR (OpenVR) app, so that shouldn't make a difference since it's getting it's info from SteamVR?

  @@liebesmaennchen I just tried this using my Quest 3 via Virtual Desktop and you are right, if using the monitor screen of FPSVR then the resolution information will only show 100%. You would have to use SteamVR's feature to mirror to your monitor and set FPSVR to a static location, then the VR version of FPSVR would appear in your videos. Thus you would be able to see the resolution setting change between the 4 options.

  💔 extra für dich Reinhard 😋Raumtracking hatte ich echt nur einmal das er das nicht gemerkt hatte. Mura ja ist einfach schlecht und verhindert ein sauberes scharfes Bild und erst wenn man übertrieben viel schärfe mit OpenXR Toolkit reinhaut sieht es brauchbar aus.

  Thank you very much! I love the Omen Notebooks, back in the days, I bought the Omen 17 with the 1070 GTX --> It was so good to use it with the CV1 at the client and don't have to carry the whole Desktop PC with me :D

  @@liebesmaennchen That is exactly why I like gaming laptops even though their GPUs have like 20% of performance loss if I am not mistaken (because they are mobile versions and can't draw as much as power). The new omen laptop you got must be making you feel nostalgic from that perspective haha.

  That is true, I use my G14 with the 4070 on the construction site to do VR presentations, it is so nice to have a 14" notebook to be able to handle the VR with the Quest 3 and Virtual Desktop.

  If you don't lower the resolution and settings, then no. It depends what you like more, I don't see any difference using 90 to 120 hz. But I see the lower resolution or detail quality. If you want, I can test a specific game for you

  No, don't forget, that OBS is using also GPU Power. Without OBS and Elgato, it is running with 90hz / fps. I use 72hz just for recording stuff.

  AC is not the best choice for a VR test. Its flickering, no matter what headset you use. iRacing has the best VR experience in my opinion. Yes, AMS2 might look better. But iRacing looks perfect. No flickering. No aliasing issues. colors look realistic. And the image is crystal clear. With Fixed Foveated Rendering I use 140% super sampling on iRacing with an 3080Ti and it runs at 90FPS on my Reverb G2.

  Did you try the crystal? I tried the crystal also with iracing. With the high resolution, there is no flickering in Assetto Corsa, Crystal has 82% more than the Q3, also, the crystal runs better than the Q3 or psvr2. G2, I only used for a short time, but I like it very much

  @@liebesmaennchen I did a bit of a research about what headset is better than the G2 but most topics I found were saying that its not worth upgrading the G2 at the moment. So I didnt look into the crystal. But I just checked specs and the crystal light has much higher resolution and FOV. But also its twice as heavy. Going to investigate more into the crystal. Thanks! To mention, I do sim racing only.

  @@PrepaidKreditkarte81 well, the most people I know who are talking bad about the crystal, do not own the crystal or didn't even try it. Don't get confused by the weight, the Hmd is very balanced and the step with FoV and resolution is insane. But, to achieve the best experience, you need the 4090 or soon the 5090

  So, are you using the adapter? I tried just the psvr2 without the adapter, it is not working. With the adapter, it is fine. Right now I'm trying to use my omen notebook with the 3080 and mini display port. Will make a new video about it

  I'm on 7900XTX and the performance is not all that good. GT7 on PS5 is a much much better experience. ACC is simply not optimised for VR at all. I hope the next Asseto Corsa will be optimised

  For the best experience, you will need the 4090 and the 5090 in the near future. Bye the way, this is Assetto Corsa, not Assetto Corsa Competizione, ACC is not good in VR but AC is very nice and runs very well. The biggest flaw with GT7 is, that it's not running with 90 or 120hz, more like 45 / 60 and this is very noticeable for me. Don't get me wrong, I love GT7 and I played it so many hours, but PCVR with real FPS and high resolution and without Mura, is way better for me.

  @@liebesmaennchen It's a riddle how PS5 can achieve such results with a GPU equal in capabilities to 3060. The problem today is we don't have a single sim for PC that is optimised for VR. I'd love to see a native 120hz VR on PC. I really hope Asseto Corsa Evo will deliver

  I used to have terrible issues with ACC in VR, but now I have managed to set up OpenComposite with OpenXR toolkit and I have it running brilliant with a 3070. The main trick is to turn AA off and up the VR pixel density. I have mine at 160% I think, and the resolution scale at about 80% (maybe 75). I tried it the other way round, where resolution is 160 and pixels at 80, but it's awful and kills the VRAM. Then I turn the AA back on, but either KSAA or FSAA, NOT temporal. FSAA has no hit on performance and smooths out the shimmering, but it's a little blurry. KSAA has may 1-2% hit on the overhead, but acts like sharpening, and works great for me.

  Servus Reinhard, wie scharf ist die Brille in der Ferne? Die Quest 3 und Pico 4 mit Kabel kommen absolut nicht auf den Schärfe-Level einer HP Reverb GH2 (ich habe eine Pico 4, Quest 3 und HB Reverb GH 2). Die GH2 verwende ich deshalb ausschließlich für Simracing (wie AMS 2). Bei Games wie zB. bei Half-Life Alyx usw. fällt es einen nicht auf, da das meiste sich in der Nähe abspielt (da sind die beiden anderen Pico uns Q3 ok). Wie schätz du die schärfe der PSVR 2 in der Ferne ein - wichtige für Bremspunkte usw.....Danke lG Nik

  Servus Nik! Danke für deine Frage. Also, ich finde, dass die Pico/Q3 und PSVR2 sich gegenseitig sehr ähnlich sind. Den derzeitigen Hype der PSVR2 für PC kann ich nicht ganz nachvollziehen, ich mein, das ist ein gutes HMD, aber das wussten wir schon von der PS5. Bisschen drama müssen die wohl machen, sonst sind die Aufrufe nicht so hoch, sieht man ja schon an den Thumbnails und Überschriften :D. Bzgl. Weitsicht finde ich, dass die Crystal noch immer die beste Lösung ist. Keine Ahnung wie z.B. eine XR4 laufen würde, aber die Crytal ist derzeit mit der hohen, nativen Auflösung, mein tägliches HMD. Die Auflösung ist 82% höher als die Q3 und das sieht man IMMER. Solltest du mal in der Nähe von Graz sein, schau vorbei und probiere die Crystal.

Die Pico 4 mit Kabel ist bestimmt ebenbürtig und günstiger....Ich werde für Simracing die PIMAX CRYSTAL LIGHT im Herbst ins Auge fassen (leider ist das Teil so groß...), da der WIN 11 Mixed Reality Support eingestellt wird (die GH2 habe ich erst 2 Jahre und benötig Mixed Reality!!!). Falls du mal ins Zillertal kommst, dann kann ich dir Simracing VR mit Motionunterstützung anbieten (habe ein Simrig SR2). Vielen Dank, lG aus Tirol

  do you use a notebook or desktop PC? If you have a notebook without DP, you should use DP to USB-C. If you have a DP, just use the DP-Cable.

  Way better, but the best thing is, you can achieve real 90 / 120 fps and not with motion reprojection. This is the best benefit in my opinion.

  Some say the FOV of the PSVR2 is bigger Crystal ... What's your take?

  It is bigger, in my last video, I measured the FoV, BUT, the weird thing is, it's not noticeable for me. Maybe if I switch back to the crystal. I will tell you as soon as I use the crystal again

  I got to say I got bit of a chuckle when you hit your head on that stearing wheel only because I cant count how many times I have done that looking at the interior of a car but man i got to say I love that car you where driving. The sound of that V8 gives me a bit of goose bumps.

  Hahahahah....yes, I also did this many times and my girlfriend often shouts, "Did you hit your head again?!?!" :D The M5 E39 is one of my dream cars. I never owned one, but I owned a BMW 645ci with 6 Speed Manual Gearbox....such a great car.

  What's the set up we need? I'm assuming it's this: 1. Psvr2 and adapter 2. Assetto 3. All assetto pc mods with tracks and cars (part that confuses me) 4. Computer with high enough graphics card? (Not sure I have this) Am I missing anything?

  Yes, one thing I have to mention, with obs and elgato, the performance is not so good, without obs, you will have better performance

  @@lulkLogan No, but you can override it with open composite, but I don't use it.

  @@lulkLogan I use open composite and then openXR works perfectly. Although I only use it for altering the colours and also FFR, which gives me a bit more FPS so I can up the graphics a little. I don't use it for upsampling. If I run in Oculus VR ( I have a Quest 2) the graphics are still very good, but I have to lower the settings and the colours look a bit too 'gamey'.
