CityZilla

Hello Everyone; this channel is dedicated to playing the game Cities: Skylines and exploring urban design through it. I use my experience traveling the united states to help shape my city's ideals. I pulled from this experience when I designed my towns. So if you enjoy watching unique builds and doing things differently, you have come to the right place. I like to build cities how I wish they were or how I think they should be. I focus on tutorials, beginners, more advanced modding, and everything in-between. Come join us as we explore this game and have a good time!

I appreciate your support!

    Stations with two streets between them are so unrealistic that even some tram lines are not that close. 10 15 minute walks are usually 1 km or more which means more than 4 blocks.

  • @CityZilla
    @CityZilla14 күн бұрын

    This is actually untrue but I can understand why you would think this. In highly urbanized areas with metros it is common to see stops as close as every 300 meters or 1000 feet. A good example of this is New York City where Manhattan has there spacing at about 1000 feet or every 300 meters or so on some lines. This would put about 5 stops per mile or 3 per km on a heavy line roughly.

    you should minimise the amount of specialized industry for maximum profit, aka if you have just enough space to put two say foresty specilizations, make only the two, even if it looks a bit more ugly, its better economy wise

    I love the look of that very creative For your city to be realistic you need suburban sprawl and a lot of it, but i know that can be boring i dont think anyone would care if you cut most of it out since it is pretty repetitive

  • @CityZilla
    @CityZilla17 күн бұрын

    The more I watch these the more I understand why I build so close together. I'm from Toronto, Canada and MY LORD is it cramped xD These cities are BEAUTIFUL but I've been using Canada as reference....which apparently is a bad idea lol

  • @CityZilla
    @CityZilla18 күн бұрын

    It really depends. I have evolved to enjoy the smaller cities over the years. The good think about it being more cramped is it lends the streets to being safer for pedestrians. When cities are spread out more in allows people to feel more comfortable to go fast. In CS1 though the problems is mostly traffic. With to many intersections it really creates a problem with all of the bottlenecks. Glad you are enjoying the content!
